We stayed at the Fairmont for 4 nights which was just about right considering it is quite expensive in Monte Carlo.
The hotel was lovely with superb views of the bay from the Restaurant and pool which made it more interesting as huge luxury yachts and liners would anchor in the bay.The hotel is built out into the sea so has a brilliant view of all the coastline and boats going in and out of the marina.
The breakfasts were good but could have had a bit more variety and the service was excellent.
Monte Carlo is super rich and it is normal to see Ferraris, Aston Martins, Bentleys and Masseratis all around, and the Marina -----well, how the other half live.!
It is a fantastic place to visit and so clean everywhere, the restaurants are superb and we had huge icecreams at the Cafe de Paris and sat people watching.
The hotel has an excellent Casino and our room was quite large for the standard Fairmont room and even had a sunlounger on the balcony which was nice.
Be prepared to spend serious money there though as water was 5 euros for a small bottle and an icecream 10 euros and a bottle of beer was around 7 euros.
All in all I can't wait to go back as it was a lovely break.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Fairmont Monte Carlo. The hotel is at a superb location. very nice view from the rooms facing the sea. Very nice room into the roads of the GP for the room facing the mountains. Facilities are good. Breakfast is very good but could be better. An above average experience.

My wife and I stayed here in the Summer of 2008. We arrived at the Fairmont Monte Carlo after spending a couple of days in Nice (see my review of the Palais de la Mediterranee Nice).

The Fairmont is a great hotel. Large, modern, and clean. The hotel has an excellent roof-top pool with a great view of the Med and the city of Monte Carlo. Keep in mind that Monaco has no real natural beach per se, so if you plan to lounge around a bit, the roof-top pool is key.

We upgraded our room to a standard ocean view room, and it was well worth the extra money. We ordered Champagne in and sat on our balcony, sipping Champagne and watching the yachts and cruise ships at anchor right off our room (see picture).

From the Fairmont, it is very easy to walk to all of the sites in Monaco. While the hotel has its own, very small casino, the famous Monte Carlo Casino is a short walk away (make sure to bring your passport if you go there, they scan it before you can enter). It is also easy to walk to the harbor area. You can also walk to the Prince's Palace of Monaco, however, that's a bit more of a hike down a hill and then up some steep steps.

Overall I highly recommend the Fairmont Monaco for a 2-3 night stay. Anything longer than 2-3 nights, and you are likely to have seen all there is to see in Monaco. Keep in mind the whole country is small enough to fit in Central Park in New York.

The Fairmont Monte Carlo is by far the nicest hotel that we have ever stayed in.
The service was friendly, the rooms were clean, the views over the mariner were amazing and Monte Carlo itself is beautiful.
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon, and although we were a bit dissapointed that the hotel doesnt sem to provide any sort of honeymoon service the welcome was friendly enough.
We upgraded our room so that we had a sea view, which was well worth it as the Garden views dont look too impressive.
The only gripe would be that there is no tea & coffee facilities in the room, which you would expect of any hotel. and that everything seemed to be very expensive (even for a 5 star hotel), but i suppose it is in Monaco so that is to be expected.
I would suggest looking around monaco to find the best places to eat as there are lots of resturants to pick from, we found a really nice place only 200 metres from hotel and the service was amazing.

All, in all our stay at the Fairmont, was amazing we would go back, and would recommend it to others.
