I was expecting a bit more of a boring business hotel but the staff were friendly, the bar relaxing and with intimate nooks to sit in away form others with a good range of bar snacks for the evening. Food overall was good but breakfast a bit rubbish in all honesty. Nothing very exciting just the regular sausage, bacon and eggs fare.

Rooms are spacious and modern, location is good, small beach and nice pool both indoor and outdoor. Not right in the centre of things but actually thats a good point as nowhere is very far to walk in Monaco and its a safe pleasant place to be. Would stay here again as the service exceeded my expectations.

Room Tip: Sea view definitely worth it

Talk about incredible! The view from our balcony was breathtaking and picturesque! Monaco is a beautiful principality anyway, but the Le Meridien was situated at one of the most beautiful parts of the tiny country.

As our taxi wound through the narrow mountain roads and tunnels, we were mesmerized by our first glimpse of the beach that this massive hotel owns. The beach itself is private and well-maintained; while there is no sand (just fine pebbles), it is absolutely groomed to perfection. The small touches - a beach cabana complete with fresh-blended cocktails (using real fruit, not juices), waiting staff wearing formal wear moving from beach lounger to beach lounger taking orders, and the incredible pool overlooking the beach all make this a paradise among the steep cliffs of Monaco.

The pool itself has two options - a heated side that is warm enough to treat the aches you may have given yourself walking the hills of Monte Carlo, and a cool (unheated) side that is refreshing after laying in the sun. Each side is separated by a narrow "canal" passageway. The attendants at the pool and beach are very friendly and quick to assist, taking any stress out of your relaxing stay.

The restaurant serves a buffet-style brunch/lunch with gourmet options. Certainly tastier than any buffet I've ever experienced!

Then there was the room. Tastefully decorated with slightly dated yet beautiful appointments that give the hotel a "luxurious" feel. The balcony had an unbeatable view of the ocean and cliffs, overlooking the hotel's private beach. The bed was comfortable, linens were new and fresh, and the furnishings were nice.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. If your travels take you to the French Riviera, treat yourself to this paradise!

Room Tip: Don't even think about a room that doesn't have a balcony overlooking the beach!!!

We booked a night for NYE. Location wise, it is a bit secluded as it is quite a distance away from the Casino Square where all the major hotels are. Takes about 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the casino square where all the hustle and bustle are. Despite the the 20 minute walk, it is a very pleasant walk as it is along the boardwalk. Great for people watching as well as dog watching as I noticed that a lot of locals bring their pets around with them. On the last day of our stay we used another route. As you are walking along the boardwalk, you will notice on your right hand side that there is a sign that says lifts to a shopping area. Use that route and you will come out to a shopping street. Unfortunately for us, all the shops were closed on New Years day. Room is clean and spacious. We had a wonderful view of the sea. We had the buffet breakfast which was your typical continental breakfast spread of breads and pastries, bacon and sausages, egg station, cereal and juices. This hotel is a great location if you are traveling on the 110 bus express which takes you direct from Nice Airport to Monte Carlo Bay hotel which is only 3 minutes walk away from Le Meridien. We took the bus to the airport and it is extremely convenient.

Spent 2 nights in a sea facing deluxe room with a balcony/terrace. Loved watching sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. Décor of room and lobby was typical “le meridian.” Clean. Bathroom did not offer an outlet so you needed to dry your hair in the room without a mirror nearby. Also, no corkscrew in the room, but bartender was kind enough to open without issue.

Property is located right on the beach but did not visit beach or the pool (too chilly this time of year). You can take a taxi from the train station or hop on the very clean and lovely public buses and just walk down. Very walkable city.

Rate did not include wi-fi which was pricey. Free wi-fi is available in the lobby area but beware if you plan to enjoy a bottle of water while on your laptop in the lobby. Was accosted by a rude female staff member that food and drink is not allowed in the area.

Monte Carlo is very hilly and you can walk up a few hills to reach the palace (about 40 minute walk). Changing of the Guard occurs before Noon every day and the views from the palace grounds are amazing. Lots of great cafes to grab a quick bite to eat or breakfast along the way. The famous casino is about a 20 minute walk. Safe location to walk any time of the day or night. Would recommend this property to anyone for the right rate.

Room Tip: Sea facing room is worth the expense

We would like to apologize for the behavior of one of our staff members, that could have showed more diplomacy when you were with your laptop in the lobby area.

I was in Monaco for a conference in December and was initially quite glad to be put up at the "Le Meridien Beach Plaza" because my experience with other Le Meridien chain of hotels was fabulous. But this one didn't really meet the expectations.

Downsides :
1) The room was quite ok but I was shocked to find crawly bed bugs in the bed (I saw it only my last day there and I had an early flight, so I didn't get a chance to let them know)
2) The breakfast spread was quite modest. I've had much better ones really.
3) Their in-room security safe just didn't work. It wasn't a big deal to me but it would have been nice if they'd checked it before letting it out to guests.

Good points:
1) The proximity to the beach is the best part of this hotel. And you can walk along the Larvotto beach anytime you like.
2) A great place to have conferences. Their snacks were quite yum.
3) The folks at the concierge are quite good. They'd help you with places to visit around there.

So I'd give this place a 3 out of 5. If I had a chance to come back here, I probably would but I'd be a lot careful about the room I get and I'd definitely check for Bed bugs well in advance!

Room Tip: Take the ones with the sea view

Stayed overnight pre cruise. After delayed flight we arrived in the evening. No rooms directly overlooking the sea as there was a conference on. Room had a side view of the sea. We ate outside and as we sat down the fireworks started out to sea. It was a magical start to our holiday. The food expensive for what we had but the view and balmy evening made it worth it..
