“Brilliant staff”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We visited for 3 nights just after the storm of the grand prix. Staff were amazing - so friendly, genuine and could not do enough for you. Beds were super comfy - had the best nights sleep ever and never and aches waking up! Spotlessly clean and I did not have a problem with the distance to town - Monaco is so small and the walk into the center was pleasant.
On the downside: Ladies sauna seemed broken - only at 40C and all controls (including the lights) did not work. As others say found the charges excessive, especially the idea we'd have to pay for wifi.

Dear Guest,

Greetings from Monte-Carlo !

Thank you very much for the comment you took the time to write about your recent stay at Le Méridien Beach Plaza.

Your satisfaction is indeed the best reward to our daily efforts and we are gladly sharing your comments with the entire staff.

We regret and deeply apologize that the Sauna was not working properly when you wanted to use it. We think the problem had been caused by someone having poured too much water on the stones. We will take the necessary steps to avoid this in the future.

We are also really sorry that the internet pricing that did not match your expectations, although we are currently within or lower than the price range charged by all our competitors. We will however take up your remark into consideration in the next opportunity for price revision.
However, free wifi access is now available for all our guests in the lobby as well as in the bar areas.

Thank you, once again, for taking the time to write. We are grateful for your support and look forward to welcoming you at Le Méridien Beach Plaza in the future.

We are members of SPG and used our points to reserve a room at Le Meridien Beach Plaza in Monte Carlo for two nights (May 31-June 2). We wanted a non-smoking room and had to select a higher room classification due to the limited number of non-smoking rooms. But the real surprise (absolutely amazing) is that upon arrival, we were upgraded to a suite. Not only did we get the suite, but we were given room 1108, the top floor AND the corner room facing all of Carlo. The room was simply amazing!!! The living space had a wonderful balcony overlooking the beaches and Monte Carlo bay. And the bedroom was simply breathtaking. It was shaped with curved windows (like 1/4 of a circle), with floor to ceiling windows and breathtaking views of all of Monte Carlo. We felt amazingly special. Another extra was the bathtub, placed in the bedroom, next to the windows so you could take a bath and continue to enjoy the view! Even if you do not get one of the corner rooms, the balcony rooms on the west side of the hotel offer the same fabulous view! Morning coffee/tea on the balcony and returning to the room after a day of touring was so very special. Wow!
The weather was beautiful and even though we did not venture to the hotel's private beach due to limited time, it was beautiful. The pool area was equally stunning. And many people were taking advantage of both.
Other conveniences: There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that can take you directly to the Monte Carlo Casino. Very helpful service. Please note that the bus service stops at 9:30pm so if you stay later, you'll need to catch a taxi back (13 euros). If you choose to walk, it is a pleasant 20 minutes BUT getting to the casino is quite a climb with steep trails and lots of stairs. Walking back to the hotel is much easier and more pleasant.
Parking at the hotel was quite expensive (46 euros a night) so we chose to use public parking garages that were very close to the hotel which cost around 20 euros a night.
Other comments: When visiting Monte Carlo, expect to pay more money for everything, but hey, it is the playground of the rich and famous! We've never seen so many Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, and Rolls Royces in our lives. The private yachts that dropped anchor in Monte Carlo were fabulous! Some even had helicopters parked on the back of the yacht.
Food in Monte Carlo was expensive. We highly recommend Buddha Bar for excellent high-end Chinese/Japanese food. The sushi and dinner dishes were outstanding (be sure to make reservations).
Final note: the only downside to our visit was a large party scheduled on the hotel beach on Friday night. The music was loud but at least enjoyable. On the other hand, someone had a microphone and was giving some sort of speech and/or presentation that was very distracting. It was amazing to us that it was loud enough to disturb rooms on the 11th floor and the farthest side of the hotel from the beach. Thankfully, Saturday night was a quiet one.

Room Tip: We recommend the rooms with balconies on the west side of the hotel, giving the best view of Monte C...

Only stayed one night, but the place and staff were superb. What prompted me to write this review was the help I received from the reception & concierge staff. I lost my phone, and they bent over backwards to help me get it blocked, they rang my service provider in the UK, they rang the restaurant I had been at the previous night, they could not have been more helpful. It's service like this that gives a hotel a good reputation. Big thanks guys.

We have just returned home from the Monaco Grand Prix. We stayed at the Meridien for 5 nights and are so glad we did. Although the hotel was obviously fully booked, the level of service we received from check-in to check-out was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome, especially by the bar staff who were always ready to chat even though they were obviously very busy. The room was well appointed and had a balcony over-looking the sea. The only negative point was the noise from the nightclub next door, but hey, it was Grand Prix weekend and everyone was celebrating! We hope to stay next year again and would definitely recommend this hotel to others, especially F1 fans as the hotel is used by many of the F1 racing community.

I have hosted several large meetings at Le Meridien, Monaco and have been very impressed with the superior service, coupled with a beautiful facility and wonderful food. The attendees were all very satisfied with their rooms. They all, like me, loved the food. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. I will continue to host meetings here for the foreseeable future. The conference services are also terrific. Our meeting attendees come from twelve difference countries and there was not a single complaint. Travelers should be aware that cabs need to be ordered in advance if you are planning to use one at night or very early morning.

I was very dissappointed in my stay here. I made a reservation for a nonsmoking deluxe seaview room. I also requested a room on an upper floor without a connecting door. Imagine my surprise when I walked into my room on a lower floor to find it didn't have the deluxe seaview, it had a connecting door, and it was a smoking room. I asked to be changed to another room. I was moved to a first floor smoking room. What part of my reservation did the front desk not understand? Finally I was moved to a nonsmoking room on an upper floor with a seaview but it had a connecting door. The hotel was not crowded so I don't understand why they couldn't find me the room I requested.
Breakfast is very expensive. The breakfast buffett cost 70 Euros for the two of us. And it was nothing special. Wifi at 19 Euros a day is also expensive and kept dropping out on us.
All and all I was pretty dissappointed in the hotel.

Room Tip: Every floor has smoking rooms on it. Ask for a room on the east side of the hotel if you want a non...

Stayed her for a 2 night weekend. Rooms ok, comfortable beds. Upside: breakfast on the terrace with seaview, personnel in general courteous and helpful, proximity to "centre" of Monte Carlo. Downside: noise (there's simple glass in the windows and a lot of noise during weekends outside not to forget from traffic); wifi is not free but 19 EUR a day (ridiculuous), parking 46 EUR a day (a public parking 50 metres down the road offers it for 20 EUR a day), reception is hidden between a huge pillar making it quite difficult to queue. Housekeeping not very exact, leaving empty glasses in the room.

Room Tip: Seaside if you want to avoid noise from side or street.
