I was really fortunate to get upgraded a few grades above what I booked and ended up in a suite. Pure blind luck I am guessing from over bookings or whatever it was but in the end... wow... what an experience... i truly felt like rock star royalty living in the suite there... The service is top notch and the location is literally perfect, no joke. Obviously thanks to the awesome upgrades, the room was beyond belief... But I imagine even the smaller rooms would have yielded a very good experience... A hotel with extremely high standards, no doubts...

The Hotel de Paris is a spectacular place, redolent in history and luxury. Call down for an iron to press a shirt and be told someone will up in a moment for it! And they were, the shirt back in no time superbly pressed.
Breakfast on the terrace, walking out the front door and see the Casino on the other side of the square, just fantastic.
Monaco is interesting, but a bit boring in some ways, because it is just a nice town on the water full of rich, old people.
If you can afford, or wangle expenses to stay here, do so, it is a treat of a lifetime.

Stayed in this Hotel on a few occasions over the years and has never failed in its high standards since I first stayed there 32 years ago. The room as you would expect very well designed and furnished and I would advise booking an exclusive type room with the harbour and sea views, its spectacular and worth the extra. The ground floor Restaurant Louis XV - Alain Ducasse has a 3 Star Michelin status and like the Alain Ducasse Restaurant in the Dorchester Hotel London is over rated and over priced. It would be far better to book a window table at Restaurant Le Grill on the top floor of this establishment with fantastic views over the harbour with the Royal Palace on the hill in the background, this is particularly good during the many firework displays over the bay. The Menu here is excellent and the rack of lamb and the duck on the spit is especially good. At night the roof opens which is an unusual novelty feature. The service and food is excellent in this Restaurant.

Room Tip: Rooms on the harbour / sea side are best.

Stayed here at the end of our honeymoon, the hotel suite we had was organized by Amex Centruion and was amazing, bed was really comfortable and the view from our balcony was overlooking the marina. The room service was a "Kodak moment" everytime. We ended up staying extra days and squeezing in the drive back to Paris for our return flight to Australia into 1 day, the concierge thought we where crazy as we didn't get away until 11am.. Made it to Paris that night for our flight home. Everything is shut on a Sunday night after casino. Great service and did I mention quality of food for room service... Hehe

Room Tip: Really comfortable beds ask for room/suite overlooking marina
