the hotel itself is gorgeous, it is an old palace and and it is definately luxurios.
sevie though, is not in the same level. especially from the doormen. they are rude and if you dont tip them, they dont even smile at you, let alone help you.

Stayed here in July for a wedding. Our room was small so I would take a larger room if you need space, rather than basic room. Rate included breakfast which was excellent but watch out for the seagulls if sitting outside - they are the size of dogs! Really like the connection to spa which was free, large pool and turkish sauna. No early check-in but I guess it was high season but they made us wait for one hour until 2pm checkin time. Very convenient and a couple of minutes walk for the centre and probably quieter than Hotel de Paris. What I would receommend is a visit to the Grill Room at the Hotel de Paris which was superb - had lunch there and view and food were a must.

Room Tip: Its a very large hotel - our room was above the back entrance which was close to breakfat area.

This hotel would rate as one of the best I have ever stayed in. We booked a 3 night package which included a sea view room and breakfast and although not cheap thought it was amazing value. We had a very efficient check-in and were taken to our room by a lovely young lady who gave us a mini-tour of the hotel and its facilities. Our room had the BEST view of Monaco...the Harbor..the Palace....the boats...and all this from a balcony.
We quickly worked out the wonderful bus system and in no time were out and about. The location of the hotel means you can walk to the sea front or the Casino in a matter of minutes.
Breakfast on the terrace was a highlight of each morning with attentive staff and a great buffet.
The staff were all very helpful and in particular Geraldine at the concierge desk who gave us so much helpful information on things to do, how to get there and how to get back. She was a great ambassador for the hotel. In all a great hotel in a fascinating part of the world.
By the way the Room was tastefully decorated with a magnificent bathroom, very comfortable bed and lots of room to move.

Room Tip: Don't bother going to the Casino unless you love old buildings. It has no atmosphere, is full of tourists in bad clothes and very expensive if you just want to have a drink. Waste of time really.

I was there in September on business for a week.

The room I was given was situated so far away from the main reception it was ridiculous. It was nearly a 10 min walk. I also had a view - half of which was the street, the other half, a wall. In the morning a van would turn up and put a pip down to by my window and some kind of drainage job.

The staff were nice enough. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable.

Breakfast was disappointing for the standard you pay for. I had the fruit salad and on each occasion it has what felt like sand or something grainy in it.

The spa was also a disappointment. Far away and a bit tired looking. Very strange system in the changing rooms as well for putting your clothes in.

Location is very good.

Oh an a cleaner left gum on my bathroom radiator - fresh gum. Nice.

Beautiful old hotel, with amazing public spaces. My company paid for my room, and not sure I could have afforded it otherwise, however the hotel is truly spectacular. Great location in the heart of Monte Carlo - less than 5 minute stroll to the casino, convenient to harbour (particularly with public lift nearby).
