My wife and I with friends visited the La Montgolfiere on Saturday the 16th March 2013 from the moment we went in we were made to feel special, the dishes were exceptional and Henri's wife took time to translate everything for us. We would have no hesitation in recommending any visitor or resident of Monaco to visit they will not be disappointed

Myself and my fiance ate here on friday 8th march. Fabulous food, this couple love their food and love to create something very special for their customers.
Very friendly service.
Definitely book ahead even in the quiet season.
By far the best meal we had on our stay in Monaco.

We were looking online for a restaurant for lunch for a day trip to Monaco. We found la Montgolfiere on TA. There's a reason it is top ranked---it is great. The lunch menu is a series of "specials" all shown on the blackboard at the rear. The choices were 7-8 items mostly seafood. I had the St. Jacques (scallops) served on a bed of che-che bean "pate". the scallops were cooked to perfection----slightly brown and crispy on the outside to soft and succulent inside. the combination of the St. Jacques with the che-che beans was excellent. Accompanied by a glass of their "house" white, I was swooning. My wife had the calamari----generous portion, cooked to perfection----fresh, light, and flavorful.

Dessert was as good as the plat----I had a rhum buba to die for, the bride had a chocolate "pie"---served warm.

All this, including drinks and coffee for just over 72 euros. A memorable visit.

Reservations are an absolute must---they have but 20 seats.

I can't add much to the last few reviews, but we loved our visit to Le Montgolfiere last night. It is tiny (16 covers) but Henri and his wife have a passion for what they do which was evident from the moment we walked in to the moment we left feeling that they were our new friends. The food is inventive, beautifully presented, and the best we have had in 9 months in Monaco so far. The wine list is a bit limited, but we enjoyed a delicious Chateau de Tracy 2011 (a delicious Pouilly Fume) at €50 - not cheap, but the wine costs around £22 a bottle retail, so this isn't an unreasonable mark up by any means. The evening set menu is €41 but worth every cent - this is genuinely good cooking. Booking is pretty much essential other than in the depths of low season. Visitors should also be aware that the Old Town does attract huge numbers of tourists in the summer and can get very crowded. Having said that, the TV (yes, the sound is off) does spoil the otherwise very cosy atmosphere somewhat, and turning it off (or mving it to the kitchen) would be a big plus.

a nice little gem in the heart of Monaco ville, away from the fuss and the bling bling of Monaco, the Montgolfière can only host around 20 people but the food is to die for, the place is nicely decorated and the owners , the chef and his wife are super friendly and welcoming ! we had a wonderful dinner in a very nice and cosy atmosphere and cannot wait to go back and bring more friends along as the place is so worth it !!!! Thank you Mr and Mrs Geraci ;)
