I can't add much to the last few reviews, but we loved our visit to Le Montgolfiere last night. It is tiny (16 covers) but Henri and his wife have a passion for what they do which was evident from the moment we walked in to the moment we left feeling that they were our new friends. The food is inventive, beautifully presented, and the best we have had in 9 months in Monaco so far. The wine list is a bit limited, but we enjoyed a delicious Chateau de Tracy 2011 (a delicious Pouilly Fume) at €50 - not cheap, but the wine costs around £22 a bottle retail, so this isn't an unreasonable mark up by any means. The evening set menu is €41 but worth every cent - this is genuinely good cooking. Booking is pretty much essential other than in the depths of low season. Visitors should also be aware that the Old Town does attract huge numbers of tourists in the summer and can get very crowded. Having said that, the TV (yes, the sound is off) does spoil the otherwise very cosy atmosphere somewhat, and turning it off (or mving it to the kitchen) would be a big plus.

a nice little gem in the heart of Monaco ville, away from the fuss and the bling bling of Monaco, the Montgolfière can only host around 20 people but the food is to die for, the place is nicely decorated and the owners , the chef and his wife are super friendly and welcoming ! we had a wonderful dinner in a very nice and cosy atmosphere and cannot wait to go back and bring more friends along as the place is so worth it !!!! Thank you Mr and Mrs Geraci ;)

one of the best restaurants in Monaco, we consider it our local and love going for an amazing, different meal. The food is a hybrid between asian and traditional monegasque cuisine and quite frankly we adore it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This restaurant is small and has a small menu but everything is done so well and there was an abundance of food. I loved the small intimate style and the woman helping us made us feel so special. She was more than helpful and seemed to really enjoy helping and talking to people.
The amuse buche was delicious. We especially had fun with the tomato lollipop.
I started with the scallops in a japanese ponzu sauce which were amazing and there were plentiful. My husband had the borscht and it was the best borscht I have ever tasted. Almost like a root vegetable stew. It was warm also which was great in winter.
For the main we had the poultry/polenta and sea bass in a wine sauce. The poultry was yummy but the sea bass was out of this world. The best we have had ever.
Unfortunately, we had to rush for the dessert/cheese course because we had to catch a bus back to nice. I tried the italian cheese and it was so good (and again plentiful). The creme brulle was unique and quite tasty- chestnut which was apprpriately done during the christmas season.
I would love to return to Monaco and visit this restaurant.

Like many others we discovered this restaurant via TripAdvisor and chose this as the highlight of our short break with friends in Monte Carlo. We made the reservation from the UK to be sure of a table. La Montgolfiere is just 1 minute walk from either the Monaco-Ville bus stop or the Royal Palace, down the narrowest street (too narrow for any vehicles).
We were welcomed by Fabienne - the "front of house" half of this delightful husband-and-wife team - whilst Henri works his magic behind the counter. The dishes were excellent, beautiful flavours, well presented, delivered with a smile and friendly chat. The atmosphere was completely relaxed and we enjoyed a fabulous evening. OK it's not cheap, but in Monaco many places cost more and deliver less. The Geracis are a lovely couple, working hard to deliver a great result and well worth your support.
