“not worth to be located in such a great skiing resort”
Reviewed February 9, 2010

amateur staff, very thin walls so in consequence a very noisy place, occasional lack of warm water, disgusting breakfast and poorly balanced evening meals, composed mostly of baguettes and loads of carbs.
MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT: AS VEGETARIAN MY DIET WASN'T RESPECTED AND I WAS SERVED A DESSERT CONTAINING GELATINE AND HAVING HALF EATEN IT A MEMBER OF STAFF HAS INFORMED ME ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great skiing area though, would definitely go back, stay away from there for sure, not worth the money!!!

Stayed here for a week maybe got one good nights sleep, extremely noisy, can hear absolutely everything in the building especially doors being shut and noise from bar downstairs horrendous. Loud nightclub across the road.
Steep hill down to chair lift and gondola, was told there would be a shuttle bus to the ski area which was not the case.
On the positive side the staff were friendly, food was good, plenty of wine at dinner, rooms were clean but small.

Just back from one week stay (25/1/09 to 1/2/09) in this chalet with a group of ten adults. The chalet its self is a warm rustic welcoming place. The rooms are typical european ski resort hotel/ chalet rooms with good facilities. The food was very good, home cooking and plenty of it, with free wine during dinner just what is required after a day on the slopes! The chalet staff along with John the Neilson rep did there best to ensure our stay was enloyable which it was. not much in the way of shops or nightlife in El tarter but we went to pas del casa one night which has more bars ect, this turned out to be a mistake 102 euro for two taxis to bring us back the 15 miles. I think Dick Turpin was driving our taxi!! Overall this is a great place to stay and we had excellent skiing due to a good dump of snow the first two nights of our stay. The free locker owned by the chalet beside the chair lift saved carrying skis back every day was a great help too

Just back from a Panorama Ireland break in Chalet Casale. Most of the family in a group of 10.A home from home atmosphere, Great food from Eddie,Garry, Kerry and Danielle, hearty stuff just ideal after a day on the piste.Wine included at table too!Long tables meant meeting new people was easy.Rooms are basic, beds comfortable, en-suites good sanitary ware, nicely tiled. Some who had rooms at the front found the nightclub across the road had little concern for the noise levels. We were ok and slept soundly if not too early to bed due to the attractions of Dylan's newly kitted out designer bar /restaurant a few doors downhill as is the small supermarket for incidentals. Most head for the Nordic Hotel/cafe/bar down the hill 800 metres where a ski locker can be rented that holds three pairs of skis, boots etc.Useful as the Nordic is right by the 4 man chairlift or one may ski down to the Gondola, both methods bring one to the bowl area above, where the piste restaurants and ski schools are situate. All party were pleased with standard of instruction. Newbies skiied by midweek and boardies were sore but happy too! Soldeau, short bus ride up the hill has a chemist which is great if like me you caught the 'flu. Medical centre is near the Nordic Hotel and xrays were availed of by one of our party as a precaution (€45) after a neck wrench. Pistes are well groomed, and there are non- terrifying wide areas up there to practise, before heading up or over this large linked ski area known as Grandvalira.
Well done Neilson/Panorama, a great experience if one is resigned to the fact that Andorran coach transfers all take about 4 hours. A new Airport somewhat nearer would make this destination even better, but on the plus side eating out and drinks are affordable even in Euros ( best not say too much about that just now!)

OK Location. I don't mind a bit of an uphill walk after skiing to stretch my legs.
Absolutely dreadful standard of food. Dry grey cardboard pork (twice!!). Watery soups. Absolutely rubbish breakfasts. An altogether dreadful culinary experience. We ate out more than just the chalet staff "night off" as it was spoiling our holiday having to sit in the school canteen style dining room and being fed "foodstuffs" that I wouldn't have given to the dog. Clearly this all depends on the staff installed at the time. In mid March 08 we have obviously picked a bad week.
Room was spacious, modern decor and warm.

  • Liked — Spacious bedroom. Nice balcony off the lounge area. Lounge area
  • Disliked — Dreadful food

I thought this accommodation was ok, but definitely nothing to shout about. The staff were ok, but the food was below average in my opinion. The experience must be very different depending on what time you go and who happens to be working at the time.

This was the worst skiing holiday I've ever been on and will never return.

The staff were useless, the food disgusting, and the rooms mediocre. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
