Very basic hotel. We had a big studio room, but the way it was split it was almost like 1 bedroom apartment. It was clean, and basic, just what u need. We stayed half board - dont expect much for the food, but if like us you got a very cheap deal - you wouldn't be expecting much anyway! You will always find something to eat. we would have had snacks in the room and also went to El Cow for the free toastie with the drink so we were never starving with hunger expecting a slap up meal!
Location is great for day time! chair lift outside the door, our room actually looked onto the lift which was nice.
At night time the location isn't as good as you have to go down a steep hill to get to the bars and obviously walk up it at night (we would go to irish bar and one of the bar men would usually give u a lift up the rd!

After reading the previous review we were concerned about the holiday we had already booked there. However after having spent the week 11th - 18th March 2012 at the hotel we were really pleased with the experience in relation to the cost.
Plus points - big rooms, very friendly and very helpful staff who responded to all our requests immediately. The hotel is right next to the six man chair lift that takes you directly up to the nursey slopes, ski hire shops and the other lifts and connects with the top of the gondola from the village. Also, it's the first stop for the free bus to Arcalis so you are guaranteed a place if you want to ski that resort.
Neutral points - as the hotel is at the top of the village, if you go out at night down to the main area for bars etc the walk back up is a bit of a drag. Also food is what you would expect for buffet style at the price (I would describe it as OK and plentiful, especially the desserts). We ate out half the time by choice, but we could have survived on the included food without any real hardship.
Minus points - the bar closes at odd times. The public toilets (gents) off the lobby could have done with freshening up! Other than that, can't think of anything.
We were four people, forties and fifties, who have travelled to all sorts of hotels, from 2 star to 7 star, around the world. So just to balance the last review, we would say this hotel was good value for money and we would stay there again.

Just returned from Arinsal and the crest hotel, it is old, very run down and dirty. The rooms in the hotel are just ok, but very very old, bits falling off.The restaurant cannot be called that, it is a canteen, and the food is absolutely disgusting. We had booked a week half board for our family of 4 but ate out every night bar the first one! All the staff in the restaurant, with the exception of the female with the long dark hair, should be sacked. They are rude, do nothing to assist in any way and we watched one staff member spit after a diner had complained One was discovered in the male toilets smoking. I went to use the female toilet in the "canteen" on jan 31 and it had obv been used and was very very dirty. When I went to use the same toilet on Fri feb 4, it was in the same condition and had not been cleaned, in 4 days! The food was terrible and the layer of dust on the counter in the "canteen" was there on our arrival and still there on our departure! Half cooked salmon, cold vegetable bake, inedible meat, potato dish which was off and cold chips....This is not a 3 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination, it is not worth a 1 star with the attitiude of the staff in the "canteen" and the dirt of the place. The bar are downstairs is ok and the male who was working was helpful but the others in the "canteen" are disgusting. They appear to assume that the ruder they are, the less work they will have to do, as all the guests will eat elsewhere! The location is good but the staff did not even attempt to remove the ice from the steps up to the front doors, so made it nearly impossible to walk outside without falling. Would not stay at this hotel again, until it has been cleaned and properly trained staff are installed, who know how to treat paying customers. Stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: For a good room, choose another hotel!

We stayed at the Crest 3rd to 10th April and overall had a good time.
This was our 2nd trip to Arinsal and we can't praise the place enough especially the kids snow park at the top of the chair lift
and the wonderful staff there.

Hotel On the plus side:
The hotel is in a great location right next to the chair lift
The food is pretty ok for a 7 night stay but little choice for breakfast
The rooms are a good size with 2 separate areas for sleeping and plenty of wardrobe space and a fridge.
The rooms were cleaned every day to a very good standard

Hotel On the minus side:
The hotel bar closed at 5.30pm every day
The hotel does not change money or travellers cheques.
There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms (we took a travel kettle)
You must pay for a drink with your evening meal Including tea(£2.00)/coffee(£2.00)/water(£1.50) and are reported if you take your own water into the restaurant as we did one night.
The reception staff did little else except smoke all day which made the reception area stink of tobacco.
We were told that because it was end of season you didn't get the same level of service and facilities including dinner variety and drinks in the bar but in our opinion we paid the same money and expect the same service.

Room Tip: Take a travel kettle

Good value for money, buffet style meals but a reasonable choice and friendly resturant staff.
Bar staff especially the lady from Argentina very polite, very helpful and always smiling.
Main lady on reception desk misserable and needed to try smling instead of growling all the time!
Family rooms very basic, no light bulbs in wall lights and school dormitory style furniture with nowhere to sit other than on the bed!
Bit of a trek back from town as it is all up hill. A hotel shuttle would be nice for the evenings.
Location fantastic for skiing with the chair lift right next to hotel.
Liked Arinsal as there are alternative free ski sites available. Would go again.

Didnt know what to expect when we booked this but when we arrived it was a nice surprise!
The room was clean and had what we needed including a fridge, TV, wardrobes, extra pillows and a balcony overlooking the slope that runs down the side of the hotel. Facilities were great, ski hire shop next door, free parking, free wifi in foyer area, right next to a 6 man chair lift that takes you to the main ski area and a blue run that brings you back to the hotel.
I will stay here again if ever in Andorra.

5 of us stayed here and really had a ball. the hotel staff could have been more friendly in the beginning but they got better! hotel is very clean and we really couldnt complain about the food choice. most nights the food was constantly replenished but one night the restaurant was quiet they didnt do this and the food went cold! that was the only bad night. Hotel is in a great location for skiing but not so great for night life. we loved the mornings grabbing our equipment and getting straight on the chairlift! this more than made up for the night time walk home up the hill! yes it was an easy 5 mins walk down into town and a tough 15 mins back up! the irish bar really do give you lifts home though! we got this three times which was great! the ski run beside the hotel is fab for bum boarding! just wait until the slopes close first!! night life was just right for our age group! irish bar was good crack and the friday disco in el cau was such good fun. we had afternoon ski lessons which worked well for us and our instructor was friendly and gave us the push we needed to improve loads by the end of the hol! would we go back? you couldnt beat arinsal in general for price but the slopes cover a small area which means your doing the same runs all the time if your a beginner and dont make it to pal. It did get icy but apparently its not been great snow anywhere this year so all in all it was great value and great fun for us!
