Ok so its not like some of the big resorts in France but that all goes for nothing once you sample the FAMILY friendly atmosphere and quality child safe slopes where blue runs are genuinely blue and not changed to just make the resort look varied (take note Les Deux Alps) .If your going as a family with kids then this is the perfect place to ski together unless you all love black challenging runs ...if you do you might get a bit bored lol but I loved it

Arinsal slopes were really great, as a first time snowboarder I found the beginners section great for lessons and building confidence. By the end of the week I was up onto the blue runs. The scenery was breathtaking and there was such a good atmosphere on the slopes. The lifts were quick and run well as were the gondolas. The cafés and restaurants were all good value and sold good food with lots of choice. We ate at the Polar Bear cafe and El refugi and the service was good and food just what you need when boarding. All the instructors and staff on the slopes were helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back :)

As this was our first time skiing we didnt know what to expect. The instruction at Arinsal was very good with Stu & Scott, considering we complete beginners we were taught very well, at first the group was too big which was a bit annoying but on the 2nd day it was split up, this made it better with more practice and training. By day 3 we went to the top of the blue run at Arinsal which we would never have attempted without the tuition.

Ski Lift passes are excellent value and cover all the slopes and areas within Vallnord.

We adventured over to Pal on day 4 as we needed to get to Dog Mushing which on the map looked like a mission impossible to get there by ourselves. We practiced on the Green and Blue runs lower down in Pal before attempting to head to the dog mushing. We worked hard up and down the blue runs to get there, it was so much fun and plenty of variety of slopes. Although the weather was pretty bad with high winds and heavy snow, the staff at the information centre and chair lifts were very helpful with directions and help to get to where we need to get to.

The dog mushing was good fun, the dogs were full of life and cute. It wasnt the longest of rides but was certainly worth it and the weather didnt help.

Pal was certainly a highlight of our holiday, the following day the slopes in Arinsal were closed due to the weather which caused an Avalanche, this was a bit gutting as it was our last day of skiing.

This is a GREAT destination for first time skiers like ourselves. There are 3 different areas that you can access and plenty of green and blue slopes for when you are first finding your ski legs.
We arranged for beginners lessons through the company that we booked with, they used Valnord Ski school (the one with the bright green outfits) and the instructor (Andres) was simply excellent - cannot recommend him highly enough!
