Plenty of runs with a variant of areas for newbies and experienced skiers/borders, plenty of snow parks and good chair lift system all up to date which are all well sign posted to help you know where you are which is definitely needed due to the size of these mountains
one good thing is you can ski all the way over the mountains going to each resort and back within one day which goes to show how well placed the lifts are

shops and restaurants are well placed over the mountains cheaply priced compared to most mountains we have been to
overall great time, this is our third time of visiting Grandvalira

Great location - less than 3 hours' drive ( ~ 200 km) from Barcelona airport (don't forget to stay some days in Barcelona on your way back).
A really large variety of slopes, for all ski levels, with good connections, no need to walk. Lots of ski-lifts. Restaurants, cafes, bars...
You can even get to the French part (Porte de Neiges, present not on all maps) that is further than Pas de la Casa sector.
You may ski all day never coming to the same slope twice (not exactly true if you want to return to your starting point at the end of the day :) ).
A wide range of accommodation choices – you can stay in one of the villages at the bottom of the mountains to be the first on the ski-lift in the morning or in the capital - Andorra la Vella to enjoy the restaurants, shopping and nightlife and to ski use a 10 minute drive to Funicamp that will take you to the very top in 20 minutes.
We had a wonderful time there.

Very friendly, fun and relaxed ambience on this ski resort.
Good for snowboard and ski.
All the services needed are located in all the mountain.
Recommend the sector Pas de la Case, as it is a small town in the base of the ski area and has the best snow conditions.

We made the relatively easy drive up from Barcelona airport (under 3 hours) just to say we skied in Andorra but we found it to be one of our most favorite resorts in all of Europe. You can basically ski the entire country of Andorra here. This resort very much reminded me of more typically American resorts that are more wide open with a good bit of room above the tree line for huge runs. There were very few level spots or catwalks here which is great for snowboarders. I would happily ski here again. By luck or by calendar, the snow was wonderful and it was sunny every day.

I have skiied Grand Valira for the last 6 years and I just love it. It gets better and better and 2013 has seen more than 3.5metres of fresh snow! I have skiied it the last 8 days in blazing sunshine. Thankfully a days rest today as guess what, it is snowing big fluffy lumps of snow in Mid April! A huge variation of twisting narrow pistes in hidden valleys and wide open runs so something for everyone. Acres of glorious off piste areas. Well signposted runs, very helpful and friendly staff and rarely any queues except the half term weeks. Great easy access from many points. Use the Funicamp from Encamp to drop you at the peak at the centre of the area, so you can avoid the gloop at the end of the season. Great at the end of a full days skiing. Park under the Funicamp 4.35 euros a day. Dont tell everyone!
