Could do with regrading some of the blues as greens, they are flat. Other than that it was good skiing for us early intermediates that enjoy cruising runs. But getting over to Grau Roig from El Tarter was great, a lot of mileage to be ski'd. Can get a bit windy, which leaves the top of the peaks icy. But will go again if the conditions are right.

Garnvalria in Andorra is a gem. Lots of great terrain for intermediates and advanced skiers. Very accessible off piste. Easy to get back on to the marked trails. Even some natural half-pipes. The interconnected areas offer a lot of variety, the villages are charming and the on-mountain food is great.

We rented top quality skis from Pic Negre 9; they really know what customer service is about...and they offer a little wine tasting at the end of the day.

The Andorrans are delightful and the skiing conditions, in general, have improved hugely, HOWEVER there is something very important that you need to be aware of

My partner suffered an injury as a result of a fall. The resort had had a lot of snow and most of the chair lifts loading and off-loading areas were either too high or badly set up. Falls getting on and off the lifts were frequent and when anyone complained they were told that there wasn't anyone available to sort them out!

My partners accident was as a result of someone falling will getting off the Solarno chair in Soldeu and the largest man on the chair falling on her. She was attended by someone on a skidoo who seemed to be a non-medical person who offered her lift on the back of the skidoo! She was taken to the local clinic where she was charged 400 euros and told that she had snapped her cruciate ligament.

This happened on the first day of our holiday and at great additional expense (not entirely covered by our travel insurance) we came home early. We have just had the head orthopaedic surgeon at Charing Cross hospital confirm that she has not snapped her ligament, that the disc supplied by the Andorran clinic is useless and that the 'doctor' could not have examined her properly.

She is obviously delighted that she does not require surgery but this leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth. Needless to say we will not be returning to Andorra. The skiing is fine but God help you if you have an accident.

Fantastic snow conditions, brilliant lift system that takes you right across several mountains with lots of lovely stops at bars & cafes. Great range of ski runs from Blues to Blacks, great fun parks, something for all abilities. Mostly no queues at chairlifts - bar a couple of really beautiful sunny warm days when lots of kids arrive, many slopes virtually empty if to stay off the beaten track. Lots of off piste too.

Over 200km of pistes in a fantastic setting. A range of slopes for all levels of experience and some good long runs. The ski school is well organised and I've yet to come across a poor instructor. Al in all an excellent skiing location.... That's why I keep going back :)
