I picked this hotel partly based on the reviews I had read. The setting is idyllic but a car is pretty essential and it is out of the way if you want to visit Polis in the evening. The serving staff were excellent but I was disappointed in the general atmosphere in the hotel. The lighting in the lobby was so subdued I had difficulty reading. I could hardly hear BBC World News because the volume was set at a hotel level and could not be increased. One of the reception staff was actually quite unwelcoming and the longer I stayed the more I felt that she thought she was doing me a favour by letting me stay there! The food was good but half board meant a choice of only two mains (one often vegetarian) and no choice of starter or sweet. If you preferred something from the la carte you could only do this once. The coffee at breakfast was very good but no there were no freshly cooked eggs. Compared with other hotels we stayed in in Cyprus, customer service was not paramount. I was uncomfortably hot at night but the air conditioning was not available. A hotel with lots of potential but lacking in atmosphere and customer service.
