We have been eating here, usually once a week, for the past ten years, travelling all the way from Paphos. Let that speak for itself.
Jack's breakfasts are legendary. Our summer favourites are cheese omelettes (Cyprus cheese or English, but Cyprus cheese makes them special) with chips and Julie's really fresh, beautifully presented salad. On Sundays there are Julie's specials - a constantly changing menu; her pasticcio is the best in Cyprus.
There is a choice of seating - inside in a spacious dining area with an annexe for the children's play area, or outside under the canopy of the spreading grape vine with the scent of fruit and flowers and an occasional light breeze from the sea a short distance away.
There are excellent facilities for the disabled, as, with a wheelchair bound grandson, we know.
Just great!

Lovely place for a spot of lunch (only open in the evenings at the weekend), may be a bit pricey compared to Argakiko. Free wifi available. Card payments not accepted so make sure you have plenty of cash before ordering!

Being out of the true tourist trap of Polis and appearing quite basic we expected something authentic. They are only open on a Friday or Saturday evening for dinner so we gave it a try as it was advertising kleftico on Saturday night. It was quite busy when we arrived, clearly full of ex pat Brits. We were seated and given a menu quickly. Our drinks arrived promptly and there was little wait for our order to taken. We liked the fact we were given the choice of salad with or without coriander, a taste my husband prefers to avoid. The owner was very pleasant and it didnt take long before our dinner arrived with a 1/2 carafe of decent local red.
We've eaten plenty of kleftico in the past and this one was pretty average. Quite dry and not fall of the bone tender. The salad and the oven baked potato was very nice (hardly complex).
Thereafter we sat. Not full and with empty glasses. Nothing else was offered. Our well-being not questioned.
What seemed an eternity later, we gave up thinking of having a sweet, eventually gained attention and asked for the bill, which when it came was a shock. Bearing in mind the beer was the cheapest we'd drunk all week, the bill was the priciest. Far more than in Polis. No bread to start. No complementary liquors. No complementary fruit.
Not somewhere we will be hurrying back to on our many visits to the area. Maybe the regular ex pat clientele get better service and discounts?

Good food at reasonable prices and a friendly smile from Vassos to go with the food, try Jack's great English Breakfast.
