We did the "Aphrodonis" walk, combining the Adonis and Aphrodite trails to make a round trip of 6.5 miles from the Baths of Aphrodite car park.

Contrary to another reviewer's experience, we found the trail fairly clearly marked - although it helps to have walking notes and/or the trail leaflet for additional guidance at major junctions with the area's other trails and dirt roads. The leaflet will also give you information beyond the simple captions found on the dozens of markers along the trail which identify plants, geology and other features.

Maps are available free from some hotels and tourist offices, while both trails are shown in detail on openstreetmap.org and cymps.com.

The views are great, although when we walked (early May, with temperatures several degrees above normal for the time of year) there was a fair bit of haze - in winter or early spring when the air is clear it must be magnificent.

There are plenty of benches at irregular intervals, so you can normally find somewhere good to eat a snack or rehydrate.

We didn't do the whole Trail but part of it not far from the Baths of Aphrodite.
Fabulous views from the Trail which climbs high up the hill.
We were on holiday in Polis, May 2013 and came here to see the Baths of Aphrodite.
My hobby is geocaching and there is a geocache up the trail so i went up to find it (and did).
It was very hot and i would not like to walk the whole trail in the heat as you are very exposed to the sun but at cooler times of the season it would be fabulous.
If you venture onto the trail be sure to have a sunhat and lots of drinking water.

Walked the trail with my wife as had always wanted to see part of the Akamas by foot. Wonderful scenery but very very poorly signposted. we got lost.and ended up almost at the Akamas peninsula had I not have made the executive decision to head off track back toward the sea! This was a poor call on my part as resulted nearly mountaineering without any gear down a Gorge! Other than this episode I can safely say is worth doing but heed the advice of other trip advisors and avoid those when hot. Failing that take plenty of water!!!

Had a really enjoyable few hours wandering around. During warmer months it's probably best to get there early as the nature trail itself is a bit of a hike. Well worth a visit.

I used parts of the Adonis trail to connect with other trails in the Akamas Peninsula area. I was based in Neo Chorios and though maps are poor for the area managed to discover I could connect to the Baths of Aphrodite area via the trails that circle the Smigies picnic area near NC.
The Adonis trail starts very close to the Baths of Aphrodite. If you are not using a car to get to the start it is a bit of a useless slog of 6km along the road to the start. Buses run every hour and leave on the half hour to get to the top of the road, Polis etc.
The trail is pleasant enough. There is little to see at the Pyrgos tis Rigainas monestry ruins. Not even and description of what you are looking at. The Kefalorisia spring is a pleasant area for a break and from here you can connect up to the trails that will take you up to the Smigies picnic area near Neo Chorios.
The Adonis trail seems to be less well trodden than the Aphrodite trail but I would advise and early start to avoid the rising temperatures and increase of numbers of walkers. (if you like to have the place to yourself).
