Elyssia Hotel & Restaurant
Ranked #1 of 4 Pedoulas B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

We stayed two nights after Easter at Katarina's and her family's hotel in Pedhoulas. Katerina really made us feel at home, and her husband and son supported her well. The room was good with a big bathroom and an excellent view over the valley. The restaurant could serve almost anything you wanted, and added a few small items on top. The table wines restaurants serve are often mediocre to awful, but at Elyssia it was actually very good. The village of Pedhoulas is beautiful, and the surrounding valleys and mountains with their churches and monasteries provided fantastic experiences. When we left for a day trip into the area, and again when we checked out, Katerina came with a bag with oranges. Thank you.

Room Tip: Ask for a room towards the valley.

We spent just one night at the Elyssia, but Katerina the owner, husband Loizos and son Michalis couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Within seconds (literally!) of our arrival, Michalis rushed out to help us park, then immediately took us up to our rooms. The beautiful view my husband and I had from our balcony took our breath away. The hotel has been renovated, with great care taken to maintain the elegant proportions and period charm of the original rooms (wooden floors, blue shutters, balconies). The rooms (we had three) were simple but comfortable, and the heating (it was chilly at night!) was very welcome. We had a delicious dinner (ordered via e-mail before we left home), prepared by Katerina, with vegetarian dishes for our two sons, and meat dishes (the best lamb I've ever tasted!) for our daughter and us. The rows upon rows of home made preserves lining the shelves of the dining room were like nothing we've ever seen! I'm sorry we didn't stay longer, because the warmth and generosity of the family owners was remarkable (even in friendly Cyprus). We hope very much to return to the Elyssia before long, and promise to stay for longer. It will be a pleasure to walk in the Troodos mountains, and return to the Elyssia's welcoming hosts, delicious food and crackling log fire!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the (very quiet) road, as the view is spectacu...

Pedoulas is a very pretty little village, perched on the mountainside. The Elyssia hotel is run by a very welcoming family. We were made to feel instantly at home. Our room had a great view from the balcony of the rest of the village and surrounding hills.
The special dinner that was laid on was one of the best we've ever had.
Local produce and home-made.
The rooms were simple but clean and functional - what more do you need?
We were asked to sit and relax by the fire with the family after dinner - amazing.
We will definitely be returning.

A warm and friendly welcome when we arrived, reassured us that we had chosen well. The village and hotel are well sited in the Troodos. Fabulous views, interesting local sites, excellent walking. A family run hotel with excellent home cooked food using the best fresh local produce. A warm fire to greet us after walking in the mountains. Simple, friendly atmosphere, everywhere spotlessly clean. A place to return to on a regular basis.

We stayed at the Elyssia in early March 2014 for 4 nights. From the moment we parked outside and Michael came out to meet us, carry our suitcase inside and offer us a free welcoming drink, to the morning that we left, we were thoroughly impressed by the host family's warm and overwhelmingly generous approach. We were treated as loved family members, with evenings by the fireplace, chatting and enjoying their company. We strongly recommend taking dinner at the hotel (€12 each) as the food is absolutely excellent local cuisine with large portions. Mrs Katerina is very willing and capable to handle special culinary requests - even delicious vegetarian meals. Her special preserved fruits (especially glyko karydaki) are amazingly good. Leave space and weight in your luggage to bring a lot home!

I have been in march 2014 in this hotel. The room was perfect, very clean, and everything, what you need was in.The hotel has got a restauration in 2009 , I read in my guidebook. A hairdryer I could get from the owner.
In the evening it was a little bit cold. The owner, an lady in her maby sixties was very, very, very nice , helpful and her cooking was also very good.
We were a little group sitting arond the fireplace and talking.
What a nice quiet evening int he mountains.
The price for a doulberoom was only 25 € for a single!

We booked through booking.com for a 1 night stay at this hotel on 14th March 2014 . What a fabulous traditional Cypriot experience . We were the only guests that evening, although ten rooms were booked out for the next evening, and we were honoured to be treated like part of the family , sitting round the fire with Katerina and Louis and one of their granddaughters chatting . Katerina's hospitality is second to none , she was very attentive , her food was delicious and we even came away with gifts from her ( homemade liqueur) . The room was comfortable with views to the mountains and village below , we would recommend this hotel while visiting the mountain villages and will certainly return again soon . Great value for money .
