We have just returned from our short stay (Wed to Sat) and found the hotel as described by other reviews. The owners could not be more helpful, the food is excellent and the rooms are clean and functional and ours had wonderful views of the village below and the mountains above. Although drinks are available from the adorable Katerina at most times I think I would have preferred to have drink making facilities in the room. Breakfast is at the civilised times of between 8am and 10am with a wide variety of choice and the evening meal is at a time of your choosing. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing, hassle free holiday.

Room Tip: we used room 301

I did not stay at the Elyssia but at another suerb hotel in the Village. We were attracted to eat at the Elyssia as it was full of friendly locals. The owner made us feel so welcome. Her home cooked 21 dish Meze is amazing followe by dessert Cheery Liquer and a gift to take home only 16 euros each - its the best Meze I have ever experienced absolutely a must for anyone travelling nearby its worth the extra drive to Pedoulas for this amazing cuisine!

Thanks

On arrival Katarina greeted us warmly and sat us down with a glass of home made lemonade. This set the scene for the rest of our stay. Her son Michael is very attentive and served us well at our evening meal where tit bits kept coming for us to try. Katarinas moussaka is the best I have tasted. All of the food was good and all freshly prepared. The meal each evening was rounded of with a tasty cherry liquor made by her husband Louis. Our room was very pleasant with a small balcony from which we could see the mountains and the village. All in all this was a wonderful stay and we are looking forward to taking our grandsons there next month.

The service I experienced from the Elyssia, from initial booking through to departing at the end of the stay, was outstanding!

I was one of nine UK (Kent) cyclists on a week long tour of western Cyprus and the Troodos Mountains in June 2013 and responsible for selecting and booking the accommodation. I was looking for a traditional village hotel for the mountain section of our trip and was not disappointed!

Complimentary homemade lemonade and cake was waiting for us on arrival; the group having cycled 80 kilometres and climbed some 1600m + from Polis.

We were shown to our rooms by the owner, which were comfortable and clean, with plenty of hot water in the showers to wash off the effects of the day’s heat from the road.

We had booked half-board on the first night. The hotel prides itself on its home cooking and after a celebratory beer, we sat down to dine. We were treated to a three course meal, each with selection of meat, fish and vegetarian Cypriot dishes and all beautifully cooked by the owner. Extensive use is made of local produce. Despite the hard day on the road and hunger on arrival, we were eventually defeated by the quantity of food. And just when we thought we had finished, the owner’s son arrived with a large quantity of locally grown black cherries. Delicious!

Breakfast the following morning again had a wide selection, from local Greek yoghurt and honey to scrambled eggs and bacon. Just what was needed for another hard day’s cycling around the mountains.

We elected to eat at another restaurant on the second night, which unfortunately did not come anywhere close to the Elyssia – another story! On the third night we dined in and were treated to another feast of local produce and wine. A great end to our stay in the mountains before heading off downhill back to Paphos.

The Elyssia is ideally placed for those exploring the Troodos Mountains, be it by car, cycle, walking or skiing. Rooms were also less expensive and our group benefited from a generous group discount. At some 1000m above sea level, Pedoulas was pleasantly cooler (in June) than on the coast.

There is excellent cycling to be had in the region. Pick up a leaflet locally for details and a map of a tour around the mountains on quiet roads and forest tracks.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble. What more could you wish for?

spent one nigth there.i agreed with most of other reviews. the room was relatively simple and small but comfortable with a nice balcony and great view of the village. a bit noisy as it is on the main street ( relatively speaking as Pedoulas is a tiny and quiet village. we paid 40 euro B>B per night. we had one dinner .was very good. the best asset was Katerina and her son who where very attentives and helpful. great hospitality !!!

Room Tip: you will have to choose between great view and a bit noisy now and then as opposed to lesser view an...

The Elyssia hotel is a great low-budget place to stay while discovering the Troodos mountains. It's location good, the view great, and the rooms are simple, but neat and tidy. The Elyssia's trump card, however, is the family who runs it. Our hostess, as well as her husband and son, couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. The food was wonderful and we loved the log fire, which the son kept going while we were falling asleep in front of it. Their hospitality was far beyond what you would normally expect from people running a hotel and I couldn't have been happier to have discovered this great place.

We spent 1 night in this hotel april 2013, 'cause booking.com's rate was 9,2. Well, if this is the best hotel in Pedoulas, then I suggest you to sleep in another place. The room was poor and sad, with fake parquet, dimly lit and alst but not least not so clean. The lady owner doesn't leave you breath, always asking and watching. Also we were the youngest of customers, and we are not exactly young!! really a sad place
