Hi i stayed at the capital coast with my partner and we had the most amazing special anniversary ever the suite was only a 1 bedroom aptarment but it was fabulous and had a fantastic sea view which was beautiful while the sun was setting and the food is to die for we especially loved the cypriot nights it was brilliant. the only down side would be the misserable receptionist but she works shift so you dont always see her, other than that it was great i recommend this place to my friends and family they have booked for the 23rd september for 2 weeks and cant wait hopefully you will see their review to.

We spent 5 nights at Capital Coast Resort. It served it's purpose providing an apartment style room with a kitchen. We mainly used it to sleep while we spend our time exploring Paphos and other surrounding areas.
We did use the spa area and noted the jacuzzi was cold. The in door pool was o.k. We loved the sauna room the best. My husband used the fitness room. His only complaint was that it didn't open up ealier than 8am. We were there off season so couldn't use the outside pool. But we were told by other guest that in the summer time you have to get there by 8am to reserve a chair. I'm sure that is the case at all resorts during the high season.
Our room came with breakfast, which was great. Large selection and it changed a little each day. They do cater to the British guest with having British type foods. There is someone to cook you fresh eggs and makes waffles or crepes in the morning. We did have a choice to book the room with lunch and/or dinner but opt not to since we would be out exploring and wanted to experience the food from Cyprus.
It is a time share and they offer you some free gifts if you hear their presentation for 90 mins. We opted for the 2 free 30 min. masages. Our sales rep was very friendly and not pushy at all, especially when she found out we were Americans. That resort is to far to have as our home base. We received our massages with no problems and found it very relaxing.
If you are looking for a resort that you can do everything at and not have to leave then this isn't the place for you as you would get board. It served it's purpose and we loved it. You definately need a car to explore the wonderful sites of Cyprus. Highly recommend Seven St. Georges if you want to experience fresh Cyprus food that comes from George's own garden. Not cheap but well worth it.

Capital Coast is not your usual holiday hotel, it is in fact a good block of luxury apartments.

My first piece of advice would be, if you're looking for somewhere where you can spend all day and all night in the grounds of your hotel, then don't choose Capital Coast. The place is pretty soul less and drinks are very expensive (especially with current exchange rate of 1:1).

However, this is not bad accomodation as some of the other reviews would have you believe. The rooms are very clean, very big and very modern. The style is similar to that of any modern apartment in any of Englands cities. Flat screen TV, DVD, dishwasher, washing machine is as standard in all rooms and the bathrooms (there are two in each apartment) are nicely decorated.

Having said that ,the finishing is at times poor with the now infamous loose toilet seats and leaking showers apparently the norm. But if you can forgive these little issues, you'll have a great stay here.

We stayed in a basic one bedroom apartment looking out onto the 'building site / waste ground' next door, but we had a great view of the sea and we got a great little sun trap on the balcony, so again, wasn't all that bad.

The beds are very comfortable, all the appliances worked and were good brands (LG) and the fridge and oven were spotless - so as a self catering option, Capital Coast really is a great place to stay.

Breakfast was excellent, evening meal was rather bland but OK, and the main problem with the restaurant was the lack of atmosphere - a huge dining room with a poor choice of music made it feel like a waiting room, the bar also lacked atmosphere. This could be down to the fact we went out of season, but I doubt it. The bar is very modern and clean, but is expensive and closes at 11pm. We found much more fun to be had at Paddys Iish Pub over the road (a 5 min walk) Helen is a great host and it is one of the few pubs in Paphos that is free from TVs and sport, so you can actually have a drink and chat to people - we went nearly every night and it was by far the busiest place in Paphos a that time of year. Don't be put off by the Irish Pub thing, it's a great little Boozer.

Lastly, you will be sold to. The so called concierge is just there to sell you the Holiday Club / Timeshare, they will try to entice you with free trips and offers, they even called me in my room two mornings in a row at 9am trying to arrange a meeting, but once I made it clear I wasn't interested they left us alone. So be honest with them, and they'll leave you be!

In summary, Capital Coast is ideal if you want to get out and about and explore Cyprus by hire car (which I'd recommend as it's a bit out of town) and just need good clean accomodation where you can cater for yourself and chill every now and again. It is not a hotel filled with entertainment and is not designed for the kind of people who sit at pool side bars all day!

If you have already booked to stay here, do not panic at some of the harsher reviews as we did , but go expecting the above and you'll have a great stay. Hope this review helps!

Our first visit to Cyprus and landed in glorious sunshine. The taxi to the Capital Coast is approx 20 mins but cost us 40 euros. The hotel reception is like an airport entrance but with no atmosphere, the reception staff were not particulary friendly or welcoming. The concierge pounce on you to try and get you to attend a meeting to discuss 'timeshares' The accomodation was huge, we had a one bedroom appartment facing the front, spotlessly clean and very modern, with 2 plasma tvs. The hotel 'spa' treatments were very expensive, the gym had a good selection of equipment but no air conditioning so long workouts were a no no. The breakfast buffets are very good, cooked breakfasts, toast, fruit juice etc, and loads of greek yoghurt with museli, sadly no honey on our stay. Waiting staff seem to be very keen to remove plates and cutlery as soon as you have finished, maybe to tempt you not to eat anymore. The walk into Paphos is approx 5k, the old town has a market, and unfortunately a Debenhams and Next. The harbour is great and a good walk back along the seafront. Car hire is recommended, we had some great trips out to Aphrodites Rock and Baths, also drove to Limassol. Easy and calm driving not many cars on the roads. Eating out can be costly, although we found Joannas at the top of the hill infront of the hotel to be reasonable and good service provided by the owner Nick.

A friend & I stayed at the Capital Coast Resort & Spa from 4-11 December. Upon arrival we were allocated, what we thought was a 2 bed Executive Suite, our accommodation. After viewing the suite we immediately went up to Reception to complain that we had too many bedrooms!! We'd been allocated a 3 bed/3 bath Executive Suite with a huge patio & jaccuzi as well!! However only 1 bedroom was ready for occupation & we asked that the other double bedroom be made ready - which was seen to immediately.

It is not a 5* Hotel but luxury apartments with hotel facilities.

The breakfast was excellent (we were staying on a B & B basis). The Happy Hour in the bar was good as well. The Barman, once you cracked the frosty exterior, had quite a good sense of humour. In fact, all the staff were friendly & helpful.

The Suite needed a little TLC and the finish was pretty poor. The appliciances were very good and there were plenty of glasses, crockery, etc., in the kitchen.

Sofa's were a bit uncomfortable but I'm sure they'll give in time!

However, unless they sort out their teething problems, people will not return.

My partner and I stayed the last week in January 2009, we booked having read all reviews and the forum so knew what to expect, but felt it worth taking the chance. We were not disappointed but would agree with all reviews the place is lovely but the finish is very poor and lacks attention to detail and in some cases safety (the tiles on the floor in the Leisure Centre).

Hotel is 20 minutes from the airport. Ignoring the problems - the suite we had was nice and big, reasonably clean, towels changed every three days (which I personnally do not agree with, having to find somewhere to dry them is a pet hate), double bathroom with what appears to be the standard toilet seat problem (not screwed onto the toilet basin) and the leaking shower that when used water was everywhere (we cured this by using our towels after we had dried to soak it up and requested that our towels were changed everyday, which was done), including the tripping hairdryer, the suite did have everything you needed for self catering, the place itself is impressive but soon does not live up to your first impressions so we were pleased we got a very good cheap rate otherwise we would have been very disappointed at having paid for a 4/5 star but got 2/3 star with issues. We were on a B&B basis and agree the breakfast was excellent and other guests we spoke to who were half board said the evening meals were also very good, bar is very expensive but there are some bars and places to eat within walking distance.

We found that with the exchange rate 1 pound to the 1 euro it was expensive i.e. 2 kebab & chips with 2 large beers = 21 euro (£21), 1 fresh chicken = 10 euro, potatoes 10kg = 13 euro, large beers = 2.50 to 4.50 euro?

Our advice generally to anyone going to holiday in eurozone is to go All Inclusive find a good hotel with good reports for food etc.

We would recommend this place to all, it is new and nice but is already deteriorating god knows what it will be like this time next year, get a good deal (we booked through Medhotels who paid only 20 euro a night) and go for it, get there and report the problems then get on with enjoying your holiday.

We hired a car from economycarhire.com @ a cost of £78 for the week included extra cover for tyres & under car damage @ 7 euro? beware the standard 40 euro petrol charge (our little car did not even have a fuel tank that took 40 euros worth of fuel) and a 10 euro extra charge for collecting after 8pm, still was a bargain when you deduct what would have been costs of transfers at £30 each. A car in IMO is required.

IMO (not a believer in timeshare anyway) but anyone who has bought or does buy into this 'timeshare' or with this company the poor finish and problems were self evident all over the place and if you ignored these you deserve all you will or won't get! We were not bothered by them trying to get us involved in the timeshare and after initial contact and we ignored the offer of freebies but were not bothered again.

This venue is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in anywhere.
The staff were far from professional and the standard of the accommodation was nowhere close to being 4/5 star as they boast. Shower that leaked and shelf that fell off the wall, basins that did not hold water, no Air con working, electrics an accident waiting to happen.
Food very poor for what is meant to be 4/5 stars.
The Lion Resorts where less than helpful on the whole a company that I would not trust or buy anythig from.
Other things wrong decking round the pool raised and unsafe. We also had a toilet seat that was not attached and despite all the above being told to the staff of both the hotel and Lion Resorts it was never repaired or even looked at for the whole duration of our holiday.
When we told them that we were not going to sign up to there scheme the reps could not get rid of us quick enough.
