“Very happy with hotel.”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Reception area on first arrival was very pleasantly decorated for the festive season. Staff were welcoming and helpful. On first sight of our room we were pleasanty surprised. Considering we had chosen the cheapest room option it was amazing, a self catering suite with fully fitted kitchen including washing machine and dishwasher, a good size living room with large tv and balcony a massive bedroom with tv and balcony, massive bathroom with separate bath and shower and 2 large sinks and another separate WC. Although previous comments have been made about the location of this hotel we did not feel we were too far out from anywhere. Yes it does appear to be in the middle of a building site but unbelievably we had no problems with this. The view from our balcony was a side view of the sea, if you looked to the right you had the sea, if you looked to the left it was Lidl, but that didnt bother us at all, we just positioned our seats to face the sea. The bus service (number 615) was second to none, it was excellent, even on New Years Eve it was runnng until after 11pm, one way was to Coral Bay and the other was to the harbour which took about 10-15 mins at most. If you are going to use these regularly get a daily or weekly ticket rather than paying for separate journeys. We even used ours for the journey back to the airport which is the 612 from the harbour bus station. Just to add, we did have free transfers from the hotel included in our room price but it suited us to get the bus on our return journey as we wanted to watch the match on New Years day at the harbour and our given time for our transfer was far too early. Harbour to airport took half an hour. We did not eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on the food there, as Lidl was just over the road it was ideal to get some some essentials just for breakfast and snacks, drinks were cheap there too. We had a look in the spa area, it looked ok and there werent any kids making a din even though there were some in there and the treatment room looked very relaxing and professional. The only negative comments I have to make did not warrant a complaint to management - an oven glove or tea towel in the kitchen was needed - we had to use a hand towel and I coudnt understand why the pool area had no sun loungers around it whatsoever - but apart from that we had no complaints whatsoever and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: High floor, self catering suite.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and as a young couple it was a fantastic place to get away from it all and spend new year.

On arrival after a horrendous flight we were impressed with the decor in reception and the speedy check in. We loved our room straight away and cannot fault it on value or cleanliness. We had a basic studio room (in the summer I would not recommend this kind of room as you do not have a balcony and this is stated when booking). The room was large for 2 people, had a shower with three functions, high quality kitchen facilities and although I always say you don't go on holiday to watch tv the selection of English channels on the tv was great we had itv and bbc among others.

The food was fantastic! My partner is a very fussy eater but every night there is a variety of dishes to suit all palettes. As we were half board we had the New Year's Eve gala dinner at no extra cost and it was a great evening, however, if I had not been half board then I would not have paid the extra money for it as it was very expensive for a stand alone meal.

The spa facilities were good and we did not find the indoor pool too cold. We did spend most of our time in the jacuzzi and it is always busy, sometimes with children, but this did not bother us. The sauna is good and so are the plunge pools. The steam room does not work! The staff don't seem to bothered about this and on the final day I said to the lady it wasn't working and she said she had just turned it on so it would be steamy soon (clearly we had seen the lack of steam on all our other days!).

The entertainment at this hotel is minimal. They do always have a singer in the evening and the bar prices are very cheap.

The location is a little out of way from town but you can walk it in the day. I imagine in high season some of the bars enroute to the town would be a bit more happening but it was very very quiet at this time of year. We got the bus in one day and it didn't take long.

All in all an excellent stay.

An excellent hotel with good sea views and great food. As it was the week including New Years Day we weren't relaxing poolside but the facilities there look great. The staff are very helpful and friendly and hotel itself still new and fresh. The location next to the Toms on the Kings is good with easy access to the frequent local bus service and there is a LIDL almost directly across the main road for those who'd rather not pay hotel prices for their provisions! Thoroughly recommended - the prices quoted on TripAdvisor seem very high compared to what we paid via Hotels4U (and OnTheBeach) so do shop around!

While this seems like a great place for families with children, I wouldn't recommend it for anybody else. If you came here to relax in the Spa, you'll be disappointed. Children are permitted everywhere - even in the so called small Spa and Sauna area! This means that it's extremely loud everywhere and you can't really relax. Also the sauna and steam bath weren't very hot, the single hot tub was always overcrowded and children were even allowed inside the sauna and the bar!

It's generally a noisy hotel with thin walls although I think this is normal for southern hotels. The rooms were very nice and clean with a spacious bathroom and a minifridge (although empty). My view from the balcony was quite beautiful- I could overlook the pool area and even see the ocean, although I hadn't booked a room with sea view. The only disappointing thing about the room was the mattress which was very hard and uncomfortable.

the location is quite great - right at the beach and close to the city, yet not directly in it. But there are construction sites all around it and they don't look like they'll be done soon! I was there over the holidays so they were shut down but I don't want to know what it's like when they're working!
Although a sandy beach is close, it's quite small so getting a spot there in the summer will be very difficult! The pool area looks very nice thou.

the service in the breakfast area is great, unfortunately the food isn't above average. The rest of the staff is very friendly too but was of little help when asking them for maps, hiking trails or any other activities.

The prices were ok so I can't complain much but I won't be coming back.

Room Tip: I could see that they have quite horrible rooms looking towards a street and a construction site, so...

Lovely hotel. Food good. Staff very nice & helpful. Any problems dealt with when asked.
Location very good for anyone willing to use local transport or hire a car. Not much going on around this area at this time of year but hotel try very hard to please. Gala buffet was put on for New Year's Eve but a little over powered by local music and children. Had to remove our selfs after the meal and go to the bar as did many of the other tourists, not just the British. Did go back for midnight but not what expected so went to suite with our party and had our own champagne.
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE SWIMMING POOL!!!
Part of the reason for choosing this hotel is the indoor swimming pool as there is nothing nicer than spending sometime relaxing after a day out. NOT TO BE!! The pool was far tooooooo cold to use and that meant that the hot tub and other facilities were busy and even the young children were in the very small hot tub. Please please get the pool heated or at least let people know that it is not, so that they don't get a very BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.
Over all hotel good.

I booked a room half board with use of spa as a Christmas gift for visiting relatives. The room was lovely with sea views and an outdoor hot tub (unable to use due to the weather I assume). It had a kitchen with all mod cons including a dishwasher. The sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable but the beds were nice.
We went to use the spa facilities which looked brand new and very modern yet some elements of the health facilities looked a little tired. However the indoor pool was freezing. The button for the Jacuzzi was not close enough to be switched on from inside it and the bubbles only lasted about 5 minutes so you have to keep getting out to turn it on. The steam room was not working and although we pointed this out no one ever came to fix it. The actual spa area was lovely and beautifully decorated. One treatment was so relaxing and the relaxation room is excellent. My second treatment wasn't so great.
We used the hotel bar that evening and the waitress was brilliant. Her cocktails were great and the prices were reasonable. It was busy yet I never waited long to be served.
The food in the restaurant was varied and really tasty.
The next morning a queue had formed outside the restaurant and we waited 10 minutes to be seated, this was not a problem until when we got to the front a table for 5 became available and as there was only 3 of us someone from the back got the next table. This happened 3 times.
Once inside My sister in law was stood stationary with hot coffee in her hand when a waiter bumped into her spilling the coffee. He didnt apologise, went to get a mop and simply mopped around her. It was incredibly rude.
Such a shame as this hotel is lovely, in a great location with good food and i would like to have visited again but there were numerous small issues that have tainted my view.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view and an executive suite

We just arrived back from an excellent sunny Xmas break, staying at the Capital Coast. We booked a superior suite double with sea view half board (breakfast and dinner). Staff really attentive and catered for our needs, and do not agree that the Xmas eve gala dinner was a let down. It was a bit crammed but you need to expect that if you go away for Xmas and don't like people. We were a bit apprehensive about the quality of evening meals after reading other reviews, but were pleasantly surprised when we got there. Spa treatments and gym were an added bonus. Room was of an excellent design, cleaned daily, but some finishing in the bathroom (2) a bit poor to the trained eye. Would strongly recommend a return visit.

Room Tip: Book the superior suite sea view for a more rugged but relaxed holiday
