“Good spa, no beach”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

The hotel looks good and quite new. We got a standard room, a bit small but with a view, balcony and almost everything needed. Pity that there is no free internet though. The outdoor pool is very good, big garden (nice for sunsets!), you are quite far from the neighbors and it does not feel crowded. Sadly, no beach: only rocks. But there is a path to the hotel next door and it seems like people just go there to swim (sandy beach). Across the street is a lidl supermarket with extended opening times (in the center supermarkets don't open on Sundays, and in the winter also not). On the lower floor there is a spa with an indoor swimming pool... didn't think I would use it but it came in very handy on a rainy day!
The access is pretty easy via bus (or walk) to the center, 2 buses or taxi to the airport.

First of all the one room apartments are excellent, loads of room, TV in both rooms great facilities etc. The pool area is very nice and it's a boon to be able to sit on a sun lounger overlooking the sea , listening to the waves crashing against the rocks- very impressed with the hotel itself, apart from the UK channels on the Satellite TV froze at exactly the same time every night- not a major issue I guess but when it happened during extra time of a very important football match I was watching, was not best pleased!
However even with this I would have probably given it 5 stars apart from the fact the immediate surrounding area is rather run down and depressing away from the sea front. This is made more bearable by the amount of really great places to eat up and down The Tomb Of The Kings Road and the fact the aforementioned tombs are in walking distance of the hotel and are a fascinating and eerie place to visit, would also recommend a walk into Kato Paphos harbour along the coastal path.
Please note this hotel has no beach despite some misleading reviews saying it does.
A genuine 4 star hotel with 5 star rooms I'd say.

Room Tip: Worth paying a bit more for a superior suite if you can afford it.

This is tricky, as we got a wonderful late deal for this hotel - (56 euros for a superior suite) and all in all it was very good. The suite was very large and well equipped and we had a sea view on the 3rd floor. However, there were a few points that didn't meet our expectations. From reading other reviews, it appears that rooms and suites at this hotel vary enormously. Having booked a superior suite we were led to believe there would be a jacuzzi and large balcony. We had one quite small balcony and no jacuzzi, we didn't even have a bath - just a shower room (and not enough towels were provided!). We also couldn't get BBC or ITV on our TV. I do wonder if they give those of us who get these cheap deals the 'lesser' rooms...
Otherwise, the breakfast was very good indeed and the hotel is nice, but in general a bit soulless and the customer service was ok but nothing special. Room service would also be good.

We didn't use the pool as it was too cold but it looked spacious and nice.
We live in Nicosia and spend quite lot of weekends in Paphos and try various different hotels. This was our first stay at Capital Coast and I honestly don't think we'll return; there are many other hotels with better location and ambience.
I did enjoy our stay, but would have been very unhappy if I'd paid the original price of 500 euros a night.

Capital Coast Resort is a beautiful hotel, very new and you can tell this throughout the hotel.
As part of our deal with expedia, we got free transfers from paphos airport, both ways, which takes about 25 minutes. They do this also for booking.com so it's worth going with one of these as you will save some money!

The guy was very nice and helpful.
We stayed in room 307 which was amazing. We had two tvs, two bathrooms, a lovely kitchen, sky TV and a huge balcony. Our view was lovely of the two pools and the sea and it was the biggest balcony ive seen before. If you are staying here, definitely get a superior suite as it's worth the money. It's very reasonable for what you get in the room and the maids are very nice too

As well as having the outdoor pools, there was also an indoor pool (unfortunately not much warmer) and a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The spa is fairly reasonable and I decided to get my feet done. What i had done looked like it should of been the 40 euros package but i only paid 20 euros! The lady was lovely and I definitely recommend her. They also have a gym but we didn't use it! There isn't a beach, but plenty of sun loungers in April anyway and you are right by the sea anyway as they put them on the grass verge and round the pool.
We stayed half board and both meals were excellent. Lots of choice for breakfast including fry-up and cold meats, cheese, bread, waffles, pancakes, fried egg, omellets...The chef makes a delicious omellete i highly recommend and also the fried egg was tasty. Dinner was different every night and included italian buffet, cyprus buffet, international buffet, carvery buffet. There was at least one thing to try every night.

The desserts were nearly the same every night which was a downfall. The waiters all seem to work very hard and the views are great. There's a bar next to the restaurant which lets you pay in English too. It's ok in there, a little bit expensive.

The location is okay, you are half way to paphos harbour and coral bay. You can get the bus which is 1euro for one way or 3 euros for a day rider. Very quick and you feel safe. The harbour was lovely, lots of shops and restaurants, wasnt so fussed about coral bay. If you are big on the beach then maybe good for you. Lidl is a 5 minute walk. If you walk further up there are several bars, we tried verandas and joannas and paddy's bar, all lovely and reasonable. Everybody is very welcoming also. Even more further up you start to get more shops and bars, we went into the sports bar which was also very reasonable. You can walk to paphos shopping centre but takes a good 45ish minutes, there is a shorter route going left at the petrol station but only found this the last day! Tombs of the kings isnt very far at all if you want to do that.

The only negatives we found about the hotel was the entertainment. There wasn't really anything on to do and therefore it was good to go to the bars. Would be good if they get some shows on or some entertainment in the evenings. Also the wifi costs in the hotel but if you go to the bars, nearly all of them offer free wifi so i just did that! There are also quite a few stray cats about which is a bit upsetting, however I think the hotel does feed them which made us feel better!

The hotel is very lovely and I highly recommend for friends and couples especially in April when it's nice and quiet but still very warm. We definitely would go back there again in the future and we got engaged which made it extra special!

Room Tip: superior suite 307 is a great room

It's a beautiful resort but needs some tlc. Friends stayed here in 2009 and we followed suit but it seems that not much has been done since then. Our one bedroom suite was lovely but sterile and really echoed. I found it odd that there were no kitchen towels, dish soap etc.; we have stayed at similar self-catering hotels in Italy and Mexico and both had dish soap etc. There were missing light covers, the couch was stained and throwing a cover over it just made it more obvious. Breakfast was decent, staff were friendly especially Effychia at the concierge desk she was lovely. Pool area Fab, beach non-existent. Don't stay at the front, it's noisy and you can smell the diesel fumes. Would we stay there again? Doubtful. Bonus is that there is British TV and a Lidl across the street. Nice place but we are sure there are others just as good if not better.

Hotel located 2km from centre of Paphos. Room very comfortable with modern bathroom. The breakfast will last you all day, no need for lunch. The one time we ate the evening meal it was excellent, but mostly we preferred to walk to one of the local restaurants, of which there are dozens within 15 minutes walk. Bonus is they not only have BBC and ITV but Sky, including Sky Sports. Lovely pool area and generally a pretty good place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Paphos.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side have sea view, but there could be some noise from development nearby.

I stayed here in a one bedroom suite which was beautifully decorated and very large. Everything was very good apart from the levels of noise so obviously sound insulation is not the best. Every step in the corridors I could hear aswell as every movement from above me who appeared to move the furniture constantly until at least 2am. All the floors are tiled which may account for this.
