We arrived late, at about 11.30pm. Staff at reception were very kind and gave us a form to fill in when we were more awake. They showed us to our apartment, which had food waiting for us in the fridge. That was appreciated, as we had'nt had anything to eat since leaving Cardiff at 2pm.
When we emerged from our apartment the next morning, we were impressed with the holiday village. We had everything we needed for our holiday. The food is good, some things were better than others but you can't please all the people all of the time. The best part of the Akti is the staff, they will go out of their way to help you, and they don't stop all day.
We hired a car for a few days, and found Cyprus beautiful.
While we had the car we had a few meals out. We had some lovely meals out and about, but still ate most of our meals at the Akti.
We would recommend The Akti Beach Tourist Village to anyone.

Just returned from 15 nights at the Akti Beach and would not recommend. When arrived at 2.30 pm the room was not ready and when we were taken to it it had not been cleaned properly, the bathroom was filthy and it was crawling with ants. Cleaners were asked to come and have another go. After anther half hour it was deemed habitable.
The whole place looks like it needs refurbishing.
The name of the place is misnomer as there is no beach and it is a little out of the way, a twenty minute walk uphill to the bus stop is no fun in 90 degree heat. if you want to get around and see the many things Cyprus has to offer a car is essential.
I could write lots of things about the food, I will just say it was mainly awful, we were all inclusive but ate out a lot. The menu is on a week rotation so if you are there for two weeks you get the same stuff all over again in week two.
The evening entertainment (if you could call it that) was laughable and all geared to the predominately Russian patrons. The one saving grace is that the staff were very good.
My wife and I enjoyed our time in Cyprus, it is a beautiful island (a trip into the mountains is essential as the views are magnificent) and we would certainly go back, but to stay at the Akti Village Beach!!! Resort..........no thank you.

The only problem we had with this hotel was rooms weren't cleaned properly, we had to ask for bedding change and had to complain about the ants and air conditioning several times. Full of Russians when we got there whi are rude and push there way infront of yiu no matter what. Cant say about the food as we eat out every night. Paphos its self is a lovely place, tomob of the kings coral bay and few other places are stunning and views to die for. I would definitely recommend paphos to people but not akti hotel. Paphos harbour is lovely and lots of shops and restaurants. We eat at The Moorings most nights as its food was lush defo recommend that place.

Having reviewed the hotel on Tripadvisor, I knew that there was building work next door and the main road into Paphos was accessible via a path that led to a bus stop. We were dissappointed by our one bedroom appartment as it was very dated. I felt that the hotel website photographer did a good job of making it look better than it was. That said, the aircon was excellent and it was very spacious. Housekeeping was excellent and came in every day with clean sheets and towels in abundance. The kids loved both pools and we always seemed to get sunbeds which were plentiful. Food however was poor for what you paid especially seeing as there is so much choice (and value) locally. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The building work next door wasn't a big deal as we weren't there a lot. We are the adventurous sort so my biggest tip if staying at this hotel would be to RENT A CAR!! However as there is such a vast range of car hire companies in Paphos, it was a bit of a chore. The hotel only recommend one company which I thought a bit suspicious. After making use of the free Wi fi in the foyer, we found S F MyRentals which is run by Steve Clark (originally from London). Fabulous service as well as being less than half the price of a lot of others. The path to the main road to get a bus is now part of the building site and inaccessible. Hire a car and see the whole island!!!

Just returned from week at Akti Beach Hotel. We were disappointed , spent three thousand pounds on all inclusive. The all inclusive stops at 11 pm and then you have to pay !!!!! What ! All inclusive for three thousand pounds should be just that. Bar closes at twelve so unless you go to bed early your stuffed. No extra thought for adults coming only for families.
Not happy with our stay paying all that money and all inclusive stops 11pm ..beware !!!!!
Pool was nice , rooms cleaned every day.
Evenings awful , same tape of music bad karaoke etc, bored stiff in evening no aatmosphere , felt treated as a number. Have to wear white plastic bracelets to show yr all inclusive found that bit offensive like yr just a number.
Food hmm. Same thing most days , stale sandwiches , not happy with food at all just basic same every day nearly.
Woukdnt go back to this place , we needed holiday , big disappointment .

We just got back from an 11 day vacation. We are a family with 2 kids and we had half board. This hotel has simply the best value for money (and we travel a lot). The location is excellent, despite the reviews we read, which worried us. It is really quite and since you have all you need in the resort, it does not matter that you are 6 km away from the city center. If you want to go in the city, you have a shuffle bus, taxi or you can rent a car (we rented a car for 3 days and the price was 73 Euro in total).
The little "lagoon" in which you can swim is great, the water is warmer than in other beaches due to the location and after about 50m into the sea there are some rocks (kind of barrier under the water) which slow down the waves and the kids can stand on them to have a break. Also, if you walk for 10 minutes you reach a sandy beach with great waves where kids had a lot of fun.
The pools are great and we appreciated a lot the covered pool, which allowed us to cool when it was too hot outside. There are plenty of sun beds and we could find free ones any moment of the day.
The food is excellent, with a different theme each evening. In the morning indeed the food is basically the same, but there is a big variety (potatoes, ham, cheese, yogurts, sausages, fruits, juice, jam, beans, vegetables, coffee, tea, patisserie, etc), so you don't need to eat the same thing every day.
The 3 guys from animation are great! Nadya, Lisa and Michel are simply the best, there are about 4 children games (shuffle board, darts, crazy football and bowling) and 3 adults game (shuffle board, petanque/darts, water polo) per day. Plus, there is yoga, water dance and free basic snorkeling lessons. Each evening there was mini disco followed by a show: traditional dance, fakir, miss.mr akti, karaoke, quiz and show with the animators and kids. I think this can be a little bit improved, as only the traditional dance and the fakir were real shows, the other nights were organized by the entertainment team.
The rooms are very basic (but well equipped!), I think here there is place for improvement, especially for the extra beds. The kids beds were really bad, they look like hospital beds, on wheels, so in the first night they almost fell down. But to be frank, we only went into the room for sleeping and showering, thus we didn't really mind the fact that the room was basic. The air conditioning is great, despite the humidity and temperature, in 10 minutes it would cool your room.
The cleanliness of the room was not at all as expected, when we arrived there was hair all over the room, but when we called the reception, we had 3 ladies quickly coming to solve the problem and they apologized a lot. In the first 3 days we did not get any extra shampoo or shower gel (except the ones we got when we arrived) and we had to call the reception to tell them that we need some, but in 2 minutes they were knocking on our door with supplies.
The reception guys are great. They provided us with maps, plenty of information and advise and the fact that you can change your beach towels daily is great. They ordered a taxi for us when we left at a lower price than when we arrived.
And last but not least: the russians :) Fortunately, there were plenty of english/german/french people to compensate. Each game (even the kids ones) turns into a competition when they play. They are really rude and lack the fair play, the only purpose being to win, whatever the means to do it. But this is not the hotel's fault, they cannot educate their guests, and you can see this in any hotel where there is a significant number of russians.
All in all, it was a great holiday, we could relax and enjoy, we made plenty of friend and have wonderful memories from this hotel. I would warmly recommend it!

Family of 4 stayed at the Akti Beach Resort in August 2013. The main hotel and facilities were really good. We enjoyed the food but it was quite repetitive and the choice not as good as in some other 4 star hotels in the area. However the staff were all excellent in the restaurant. Good kids club and activities for adults too (no activities on Sunday). Excellent and attentive staff on the main reception. Don't bother with beach towels as you can pay a 10 Euro deposit per towel, change the towels as often as you wish and get the deposit back upon return at the end of the holiday. The hotel is located a really long way from the bus stop on the main road, about a 30 minute walk, we found it too hot to walk in August. The hotel offers a bus twice a day to either Paphos or the harbour, 7 euros for 4 people each way. Taxi to these locations would be 10 euros. We found it much easier and convenient to hire a car. It could be quite a struggle getting around without a car due to this hotel's location, hired a car using reception staff help and it was delivered and collected from hotel. The rooms were simply furnished and the beds hard but clean, fresh towels each day and the room was cleaned daily. Rooms were very spacious. Asked for extra pillows and coat hangers and received these promptly. When booking our holiday we were advised that the hotel next door would be finished by July 2013. I would be surprised if it was finished by July 2015! Hardly any activity on the hotel but it did not bother us as our room was the other side of the hotel, but you can see it from the sun beds. Lots of sun beds available. The staff are really what makes this hotel. It is perfect for families with all the activities available, shame about no activities on Sundays but I guess everyone needs a rest.
