“One major centre of Cypriot religious history”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Most tourists just want to visit Cyprus for Ayia Napa and the wine, beer and food. This place is different: a major centre of Orthodoxy- Ayios Neophytos was from Kerkyra (Corfu) and established a monastery in Cyprus. You can see the original habitation of the monk as well as some wonderful frescoes. Go there if you want some peace and quiet. All monasteries are usually worth it

“Mountain coach trip!”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Whilst the coach was air-conditioned and comfortable, the long drive from Paphos to Mount Olympus and round tour of the mountains was tiring - and a bit hair-raising in places, thanks to the sheer drops below our coach windows! Monastery was wonderful, the small shops were tourist traps, the restaurants adequate and ethnic, which was good. Worth going to see, but probably better by car.
