The second time we have been here so we must have enjoyed it. What's more if you visit by yourself you don't need to rush round and miss anything. Plenty of car parking in centre of Paphos but we walked it in along the sea front. We saw mosaics aplenty and got chatting to an archaeologist regarding conservation in Paphos. Open every say from 8.30 am , toilets and lots of sites to see.
We even had the pleasure of seeing Cypriot folk dancing and singing as we came out from the site. Add lunch in seaside restaurant, an icecream on the way back to hotel and what more could you wish for?

Right by the hustle and bustle of the tourist shops by the harbour, an enormous park of archaeological ruins. I don't know how we missed it before! Mosaics protected from the elements which also provides shade for the visitors. Well worth a visit. Loved the fact that you pay to go in and.... let yourselves out when you're finished, through the turnstile even if it's shut.

Wonderful well kept archaeological site. The Mosaics are amazing. There are so many - don't miss any- some are outside with a covered area nearby and then there is a large covered area- these take you breath away.

Tucked partially behind and beyond the bars and cafes which surround the old harbour of Kato (lower) Paphos, this park - containing all manner of remains and excavations of the ancient town which existed here - is fascinating and absorbing and a real must-see. Because of its position, the modern town is barely visible, and this, with the piece of unspoiled, rocky coastline looking directly towards the sea, makes it possible for the visitor to feel transported back in time, and to envisage what the island and town might have been like centuries ago. Wonderful mosaics, still in situ where they were laid in a villa, and an odeon, or open auditorium, are amongst the marvels to be seen.

Without a guidebook or map I am struggling to give an objective review. From what I can gather there are a number of ruins from different eras which tell an interesting story about the occupation of and inhabitants of Cyprus. Sadly my visit coincided with a private event (in the visitor centre) so was not able to purchase a guide book or even given a map on entry so for the majority of ruins had no idea what I was looking at. It's a shame I couldn't eaves drop on the German tour guide as I could provide a more comprehensive report. Toilets were clean!
