“October in sunny Cyprus”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

Better late than never! We stayed at the Imperial for October half term 2013. It had been refurbished for the summer season. The rooms were comfortable, food good a great variety. We particularly enjoyed the Asian restaurant which you had to book, but at no extra cost. The outside garden area was clean and tidy, plenty of sun beds. Only downside we found was the evening entertainment. Having stayed at the Phaethon at Easter, where the entertainment was excellent, the entertainment at the Imperial was poor in comparison. Bedrooms are comfortable, and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Waiters and waitresses worked tirelessly throughout the day, which was good for us as this was our 'do as little as possible' holiday so it fit the bill exactly!

Room Tip: Sea view, it is worth paying the extra for the views as the rooms over the reception area overlooked...

Lost count of the number of visits to this hotel, which says a lot. This was our first visit after the winter refurbishment, and what an improvement. New beds, bathrooms, tiled floors and balcony furniture, as well as very nice decor made for a very comfortable bedroom. New corridor carpeting and paintwork all round really brightened up the hotel, and the outside was not neglected either, with new paintwork, sun beds and umbrellas. There is also a new Asian Restaurant that adds greatly to the dining experience. But what hasn't changed? The excellent, ever attentive, ever smiling and helpful staff; the excellent choice of food (more weight to lose before Xmas); and the winter clientele. Previous reviews refer to the visitors being from "gods waiting room". All I have to say to that is all ages deserve a holiday and if this age group upsets you, holiday before October, as pensioners need to go when things are cheaper, and quieter!
As usual, an excellent, friendly break improved by the new decor and the core group of staff, both Cypriot and non- Cypriot. I only hope that the two month winter closure does not mean the non return of some excellent foreign staff.

Room Tip: It is worth the extra for a sea view room.......fabulous sunsets too.

Stayed in July with my husband. Very impressed with rooms, cleanliness of hotel, excellent food and the first all inclusive where your drinks are served to you. Even if you are sitting in the reception area, a member of staff will ask what you would like to drink and bring it to you. Only downside was the brandy (and all the hotels in this area seem to use the same one) which was not at all nice but we bought a decent bottle in town where it is very inexpensive and kept in our room. Lovely to dine alfresco even for breakfast with plenty of tables and chairs outside beside the swimming pool. Tiny beach but we were delighted to find it was perfect for snorkelling and sunbeds free. Great promenade walk into town or nice stroll in the other direction where you can see the numerous beachside hotels. Entertainment was fine. If you want to swim a few lengths uninterrupted by children, a lovely indoor pool is provided adults only. Staff were friendly and helpful and service throughout hotel excellent. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view or pool view as the front rooms to the hotel overlook car park. Agent told me se...

We have just returned from a 7 day holiday at the Louis Imperial Beach. We decided to have a late break returning 4 weeks before Christmas. The hotel was very well situated with plenty of sunbed choice. Some round the pool, others in a garden setting and some on the beach. The weather at this time of year was hot when sunny and warm when cloudy. The room was spacious and very clean. We were on the third floor overlooking the sea. The balcony had lovely chairs (not those uncomfortable white plastic ones). There was plenty of choice at all meal times and always a carvery. There were hot plates provided but your meal could get a bit cold easily. Most of the staff were very helpful from the reception staff to the bar staff. The odd non Cypriot waiter in the dining room could be a little surley but on the whole the staff were lovely. The hotel was in a good position to have a stroll along the beach walkway into Paphos harbour. The staff serving in the bar and outside bar area were very friendly and we had some good banter with them.
Also for this time of year it was lovely and warm in the hotel and in the bedrooms as it did get a bit colder on the night. There was an animation team who did their best to get guests to participate. The entertainment on a night was ok. All in all a good break.

Room Tip: I would recommend a higher floor bedroom overlooking the sea

Stayed here 3rd -10th Nov. first impression the hotel was great, clean and tidy. and didn't disappoint at all. food was great, room very clean and in good order, any faults fixed instantly.
Arrival drinks and snacks, was a great touch, we were AI (the best way to go). all the staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English.
The only thing to "mar" the holiday was the fact that due to the time of year we were the youngest there (at 48). entertainment every night started with bingo (not really our thing), the phrase "gods waiting room" springs to mind, one guest even collapsed at dinner. (she did recover tho).
Due to the age of the guests the "animation team" had there work cut out, not much call for volley ball for the over 60's. the pool was a bit cold and the indoor pool was even colder??.
The weather was great even for November.
Located right on the beach, perfect, the sea was actually warmer then the pool.
The hotel did have a problem with one of the lifts, we were stuck in it for 15 min, it did seem to continually break down during our stay.
if you go out for the day you can get a superb pack lunch from reception, book the previous day.
would I go back there, YES YES YES
We travelled with Tompson, quality service and a quality rep (Lesley). she was always around (not in your face thou) and could deal with all manner of problems if they arose.

Room Tip: Go for a higher floor room away from the reception as the music can be loud. The food is that good...

We stayed as a couple at this hotel from 13 Nov-20 Nov. It is a very nice hotel, clean, good selection of good quality food, nice spacious rooms though the beds have a toweling plastic back mattress protecter on them which even with Novembers night time temperatures made you sweat so if your there in the summer i would remove this from the bed.The entertainment at night was ok but a bit repetative,so we went out a few nights to a couple of local bars, the Irish Pub and Pegases both very good serving british beers/ciders etc and only a 10 min walk from hotel. We also found that this hotel seemed more for the older person(we're 40 & 47) but going in november you expect this.We went with First Choice and did one excursion this was the 4x4 safari at 75 euros each. You got picked up at the hotel at 8.30am by a landrover defender if you don't like a bumpy ride then do not sit in the back though you can swap seats with the other people, you are taken to a place where you meet up with the other vehicles and given a briefing on what you will be doing, then you are driven to some gorges where theres about an hours walking so wear suitable footwear as you have to cross streams and walk on stepping stones some being slippy, after this you then get taken to a coffee stop near Lara beach for about 30mins, then on to Lara beach where at the right time of the year you may see some turtles. After this you drive through the Akamas forest again(it all looks the same) to a taverna to have a meal, chicken, salad and pasta and fruit for dessert(no cake) you are here for an hour then off again to Aphrodites bath this is just a stone well type thing full of water it is not the waterfall at the Adonis waterfalls which you can swim in.Finally you go wine tasting trying about 9 diff types of wine which you can buy if you wish. This trip is meant to be 8.30am and returning about 5.30pm we were back by 4pm.It was a nice day but not worth the price so before you book have a look at the local tourist offices which offer these trips for 35euros and will probably do some of the other trips offered by your tour company for a lot cheaper.I would recommend this hotel but as for Paphos there is not a lot to do and if you want a nice sandy beach go on the bus early to Coral bay as it does get very busy in the summer.

Room Tip: We had room 121 over looking the tennis courts and part sea view, you could hear the entertainment w...

On arrival at around 22:30hrs and were welcomed with a drink and snack while our bags were taken to our rooms We were travelling with our two young teenage children so we had booked a double and a twin room as this was the first year a family room couldn't accommodate us, i was a little apprehensive initially, hoping we would have adjacent rooms as requested in my email to hotel following my booking. Unfortunately we were allocated rooms which were about 5 apart from each other - we asked if there was any chance of 2 rooms next to each other on the off chance explaining our concerns - the reception staff could not have been any more helpful, after searching through we were informed there would be 2 the following day once the occupants had checked out, they were 2 x family rooms too so an extra bonus for us in respect of size!!! THANK YOU Louis Imperial Beach reception staff for arranging this, it certainly made it al ot easier having them next door! :)

The grounds of the hotel are superb, the grass area was lovely and quiet away from the pool area but still with the sea breeze.

The staff are very polite, friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible for taste and choice.

Animation team were on top form and continued to make me smile with their entertainment throughout. The outside stage area was closed due to the cooler nights so the indoor function room was being used - I would go as far to say i can't actually fault this hotel in anyway but if i needed to give any feedback it would be to try and update the function room (Empire Suite?) - the previous reviewer was correct in that it was very dated, more like a Pontins/Butlins place with no atmosphere! The animation team deserve a better stage setting for their acts i think!

One last thing as i could go on - The walk to the harbour in the evening was wonderful and we couldn't get enough of the sunsets.............

Room Tip: As with all previous reviewers - sea view is a must!
