“Brilliant staff, amazing wedding, top stay!!”
Reviewed May 20, 2011

Apart from the hotel needing freshened up, our stay was excellent. The staff are fantastic, particularly the wedding team and entertainment team. Our wedding was amazing from start to finish, the venue was the best of the bunch along the sea front in Paphos. Elena (hotel rep) organised an excellent day along with our Thomson rep, no stress whatsoever, the reps take care of all of it. Food was excellent from start to finish as AI customers, and even if you fancy eating out, it is very reasonable in the harbour for a meze.

I have nothing but good things to say about this great hotel. The location is perfect, with the lovely coastal path walk into Paphos town, and in the other direction past the gorgeous gardens of the neighbouring hotels. We stayed in room 244 which has an amazing sea view looking towards the harbour and fort, the room is a very large, comfortable and peaceful room. The friendly cleaners visited every day doing a fantastic job, even leaving us chocolates on occasion! As for the rest of the staff, I have never stayed in such a friendly hotel. The Manager came to welcome us at our first breakfast in the restaurant and said hello each time we met around the hotel again; the waiters at dinner always had a smile and made conversation when taking drinks orders. Unfortunately we did not get individual names of the waiters otherwise we would be happy to have singled them out for individual praise. Even the maintenance workers would wish us a “good morning” in passing. We were offered a free drink at the pool one afternoon, and invited to a cocktail party and napkin demonstration (which me missed as we had a wedding in town to go to!) As for the animation team, well they were simply fantastic!! Allesandro & his team worked tirelessly throughout the day & evening, not being too pushy when encouraging you to leave your sun lounger for archery or aquarobics. They were very entertaining during the evenings too, working tirelessly with only 1 day off a week! They were also extremely friendly throughout our stay (always smiling) & even wished us well on our last day. We were very sad to leave the Imperial but have great memories of a relaxing & enjoyable holiday made all the more special by the amazing team of staff.

I have just returned from staying for a week on an all inclusive basis at this hotel and must recommed it to anyone else who are thinking of booking this hotel. we were apprehensive after reading some of the reviews from other advisors and here is a personal and honest opion. The room may have been a little outdated but was clean and the sheets and towels changed daily, As I have been to quite a lot of hotels on an all inclusive board basis I was apprehensive of what the standard of food would be like but can only describe this as one of the best, the choice was extensive and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. the manager came around daily to check everybody was happy and I must say I never heard any complaints from other guest about this hotel. thank you to all the staff from this including the animation team for making out holiday so enjoyable and we will be seeing you again in September !!

This hotel was everything you could want. Excellent bar staff, excellent meals, friendly service although the reception staff could do with some customer service training. Good pool and beautifully kept gardens.

My husband, 13 year old son and I had a weeks stay at this hotel. We have visited Cyprus, and Paphos, on a number of occasions, this was our first visit to this hotel.

On arrival, there were a number of returning guests, one couple was told that their usual room was not available, the couple then voiced concern about which side of the hotel their allocated room was on and were relieved with the reply. As we had not been to the hotel before, it meant nothing to us, but when we opened the patio doors, to the balcony, in our room, their concern made sense. There was a strong sulpherous smell wafting into the room, which appeared to come from a tank below the room.

We explained the problem, at reception and were given the keys to another room, on the opposite side of the hotel, for us to see if we preferred this room, which we did. Within the hour the unsuitable camp bed had been replaced by a more suitable divan bed, for our son, and extra pillows had been provided.

This was typical of the staff and service we encountered, at the hotel, everything was done with a smile and very efficiently. The hotel does need a bit of an update, in places, and the stairs could do with being more centrally located, so you can use them, instead of the lifts, which are always busy, as in all hotels

The food was quite good, although, while we were there 90% of the guests were British pensioners, and the food may have been chosen with this in mind, as it was very British, with little Cypriot flavours, which we would have preferred. However the Puds were very popular with our teenager, as there was always a good selection....unfortunately.

The hotel is well situated for everything and the walk to the harbour was lovely, as were the grounds, which were kept spotless. We were disappoined that the indoor pool was unheated, as one of the reasons we chose this hotel was its indoor pool, knowing the outdoor pool would be too cold to use in April. I thought I read that the pool was heated, but it never was, the week we were there.

On this visit we found a mini golf course, 10 minutes walk from the hotel, which appeared to be quite new and well worth a visit or two, unlike the Fiesta Bar, on the Avanti complex, which was dreadful, the staff constantly striding up and down the aisles, in formation, the cocktails were served in large sherry glasses, and were tasteless, one visit was quite enough.

We were very impressed that there was no charge to use the tennis courts,at the Imperial Beach, as there is at some hotels, and we made full use of this facility. There was plenty of evening entertainment, which seemed to be very popular, althouigh we usually went out in the evenings, so cannot really comment on its contents.

Overall we had a nice time and would return in the future.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the reception side of the hotel

Don't get me wrong, we didn't have a bad holiday, far from it in fact. The staff were courteous, the food was good and plentiful and the location of the hotel is good but.....
....things have just moved on in the world of leisure. This hotel was probably great in its heyday but that day has past. The in house blurbs boast of "recently refurbished rooms", well the 2 we stayed in were very tired indeed. The first was very poor, cracked tiles, dirty grouting, mouldy sealant around the bath. The room had cigarette buns on the nets, dirty and worn lampshades and a lovely retro looking bedside entertainment centre, lifted direct from Blakes 7. The original view of the road and carpark wasn't much fun so we changed to a sea view, surprise surprise this was extra. The new room was better but still tired. The rooms are in dire need of updating, though this one was very clean and the maids sis a great job.
Don't get me wrong, if you stay here you'll probably have a great time. The food was great, its just that the hotel is now dated and in need of a refurb.
Things have just moved on and I require better for my hard earned cash.

It was our 1st visit to Cyprus and we were very pleased with our choice of hotel. Its in a great posotion a nice 20min stroll to the harbour. The rooms are dated but very clean and spacious,if anything let it down it was the shower, just not powerful enough infact it was more like a trickle and the antiquated hairdryer, but these were far outwayed by the cleanliness and the maid service which was very good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the animation team tried to get people involved in the activites without being loud and ott. The grounds of the hotel are well kept and ample sunbeds available. We only went b&b because we wanted to explore Paphos. The breakfast was excellent.
The Rimini resturant just accross the road serves excellent food. BEWARE the nearest money exchange, Stanley Bet is a short walk away, but the gentleman in there took £500 from my hand and would not give me the rate advertised ,when I questioned him he threw me out of the shop and kept my money, after calling the police he was eventually made to give me my cash back, a bad experience could have turned really nasty if not for the police, my advise is to walk past it and change your money elsewhere.
