We went here tonight following good recommendations on trip. We’re staying about 1km away so decided to walk. We’d not been into Chlorakas square yet so we were a bit surprised when we arrived. It seems they’re having major works done to the town to get internet, electricity and everything updated, so seems the whole centre is being dug up, it looks like a war zone. However, don’t be put off, as the Famagusta Tavern stands proud in amongst the rubble. The food was excellent, the service was lovely and the environment had a nice feel. It was quiet because the time of year but had a few guests and is clearly surviving despite the rubble outside because of its reputation. Fab

Friendly staff, excellent food at a reasonable price in the little village square. We eat here every holiday a couple of times.

Thanks to the owner, his wife and there son for a wonderful experience. This is the second time we have been here. A traditional family run taverna that not only has some of the best Cypriot cuisine and impeccable service but the family that run it like to make you feel welcome and spend the time to talk to you about there dishes, where they get there produce and how its cooked, this is especially close to my heart as I'm a chef in the UK and like to learn, thank you all for a wonderful experience, be mineful though there are lots of road works going on around this area, but both times we have parked in a nearby road and walked all of 1 minute so don't let this put you off

Good food and nice, family atmosphere. The owner recommended us freshly made lamb and was excellent. We also ordered two types of fish and were very tasty.. The owner was very friendly, showed us interesting places to explore.
