Steni village is about a 15 minute drive from Polis. The museum is within the municipal building in the centre and parking is easy.

The mukhtar - the head of the village - had the foresight to collect exhibits of local life over many years in the hope of them being displayed. The came to fruition when the museum was built as part of the new building.

The items on display are very well presented, labelled with explanations and give a fantastic insight to the life and culture of Cyprus over the last couple of hundred years. Half an hour should be enough time to see it.

There is a good taverna just over the road.

An excellent way of finding out a little bit more about the history of Cyprus. Entrance is free but donations are welcome. You'll easily spend 45 minutes here, and you'll enjoy it, too.
