“The problem it is a Traditional Hotel !”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

Stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in January staying half board
On the plus side the owner and staff very friendly helpful and welcoming.
The breakfast by Greek standards was good hard boiled eggs sliced meat tomatoes olives yogurt jam honey and cold coffee ect.
The evening meals ranged from ok to very good.
Just around the corner a very good bus service runs every 10 mins into Paphos town cost of 1.5 Euro.

The problem we found with the hotel it is what it is a Traditional Hotel
So nothing had been done to hotel for years and everything in it needs a bit of fixing from the broken toaster, wiggle shower screen lose toilet seat or all the salt cellars in the dining room empty (we were offered a large pot of salt from the kitchen but no one thought to refill the salt cellars).
The room was not as clean as it could have been and things like the cups in the room were unwashed and very dirty.
The hotel has a wood fire in the dining area and found the smell of wood smoke in our room during night that was not very nice to wake up with in the morning.
There is a good free WiFi in the Hotel but a 5 Euro a day for the AC.

No big problems so many.

Room Tip: It is to far to walk to Paphos very easy and good bus service to town No 610 just down the road A we...

Authentic, welcoming, clean and worth visiting, even if only for the staff. Go out of way to make you feel welcome, not the quick hello of large impersonal beach hotels. True taste of Cyprus and its people - stay here, all nationalities staying prove that. It is also reassuringly reasonably priced. Rooms tend to be on small side, but more than adequate, TV is not Sky, but if you go to Cyprus for this you should have stayed at home. Going to Cyprus ? spend a couple of nights here to savour real Cyprus. Geraint

Room Tip: We stayed in side room no problem or noise, does'nt really matter where you sleep here.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend in early October 2013 in room 102 which is away from the road. The room was of the old fashion type that I like with a high ceiling and windows, quiet (note that the windows were closed as it was rather cold outside) clean, tidy. I enjoyed the feeling of staying in this stone building of the 16th century and one of the first ten hotels to be officially registered in Cyprus.

The service was amazing with Giorgos from Crete being very refined and cordial and incredibly helpful, acting like a perfectionist in his duties. The breakfast, served in the beautiful patio of the hotel was eat as much as you like, was very satisfactory and included boiled eggs, ham, salami, cheese, yogurt, cereals, fruit, olives and the standard items, bread, butter, jams juices, milk, coffee, tea.

There is a paying car park just opposite the hotel for a small fee demanded by the municipality during part of the day (ask receptionist for precise details so as not to risk a fine!!!) but there is also convenient free parking within a one minute walk on the first street to the left and even better in the off the road car park next to the Agios Kendeas Church which is where we parked during 11 pm and 11 am.

The only flaws I found is that there is isn't that much space around the bed and the water flow in the shower is somewhat weak but not desperately so.

All in all for us it was a great place to stay, with the many positives outweighing by far the few negatives and I would stay there again if I need a hotel in Paphos.

October 2013

Room Tip: Get a room away from the road facing side, avoid traffic noise during the day.

It all started with the communication through e-mail with Mr George GREGORIOU, owner and manager of Kiniras hotel: excellent service, great hospitality, perfect location: 3 min walk to the bus stop, yet away from all the touristic fuss, and at a walking distance from Paphos old town. We got more than we expected: the place has its own charm: nice rooms with everything you might need, cleanliness, friendly staff, amazingly tasty food. When we first arrived and checked-in, we sat down for lunch and were joined by Mr George himself who explained all about Paphos to us and kindly provided us with maps and books. You might find some ants in the corner of some rooms, but when you see the natural green surroundings you cannot but understand why they're there. And one thing is sure: we are definitely going back there on our next trip to Paphos. It is the place to be for people looking for unusual experiences, traditional places and who dislike big chain hotels that give you everything but personalized service. Kiniras hotel is a place not to be missed on your stays in Paphos, whether to sleep, eat or just have a drink in the beautiful yard. Thumbs up!!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden are very nice.
