The apartments have a large living room with a kitchen area and an equally large bedroom with plenty hanging and drawer space.Apartments were spotless with efficient air-con in both rooms, balcony with chairs ,table and a line for drying your swimwear and towels.Location was great for everything.Try Raffles or O'Neills for a good meal.

Just spent another fabulous 2 weeks at the Kef. After a whole year of rain, grey skies, and a cold summer, how great it was to be back in Cyprus.

Our studio was waiting for us, this is now 11 years of returning to the Kefalonitis.

If you have never been to the Kefalonitis you are missing a treat. The location on the Tomb of the Kings Road is an ideal location, set just off the main road, the hotel is 2 mins walk from bars, shops and the bus stop. The buses run every 10 or so minutes, taking you to either Coral bay, the Harbour. or to Paphos Old town. 1 euro each, way, 3 euros for a day ticket or 13 euros for a weekly ticket.

The apartments are set in blocks, linked to the reception, and the pool by paths, lined with various fruit trees, or flowers. The pool is clean, and a good size, there is also an inside pool, but I have never used this. There are always plenty of sun beds, and a cholce of either being in the sun, or if you take a sun bed nearest the reception you can be in the shade untl approx 5pm in the afternoon.

The studio my husband and I use is huge, with a really big balcony, and patio set. The apartment has a micro wave, grill/oven, and 2 electric rings. Fridge with a small freezer section.
Enough cutlery, pots and pans cutting board, and even a cheese grater.
The studio is also equipped with airconditioning, a hairdryer, radio, and TV, with limited English chanels but you can catch up with the news if you wish, or watch a film.

There are no lifts at the Kef, so if you are not able to climb stairs I would suggest you request a ground floor apartment. If you have children that need to be entertained, I suggest you find one of the all inclusive hotels as part from a few swings and a children section of the pool younger children may become bored.

The hotel is run by Nicos, who is the owner, he will do everything he can to make your stay at the Kef a happy one, my microwave was broken this year, but 30 minutes after advising him, he replaced it with a new one. Ted the Scotish night receptionist, is the man to ask for places to eat, or visit, or where to go to get the best bargains. His wife Helen will make you any cocktail you want in the bar. You can order meals at the Kef, but apart from breakfast, which can be full english or continental, the rest of the menu contains salads, or chips, or bergers, all very nice, and big portions, but as the kitchen closes at 4pm is only suitable for day time snacks.
Nearest places to eat incude Fat Mamma's an Italian restaurant that is really popular with every one, with entertainment every night. Tea for Two is a great English restaurant, but be warned if you are on a diet - well the food is fabulas, portions huge and the deserts are fantastic.

There is a beach apporx 5 minutes walk away, and a path from here will take you to the harbour. Tramps is the bar just 3 minutes from the Kef, and the place to watch all the football, cricket, rugby, tennis, or motor sport. This bar stayed open until 4:30am to allow people to watch Andy Murray win the US Grand Slam.

There are reviews here who make out the Kef is a horrible place, but I would not return for 11 years on the trot to a dump, nor would any of the other regular visitors, but there are always people who pay for 3 stars, and expect 5. Look at the price you pay it is gret value for oyr money, and the location of the Kef, the size of the rooms, the air con, rooms cleaned 5 times a week, sheets and towels changed 3 times a week.
Cyprus is a great place to hire a car and explore, you will drive on the same side of the road, as you would in the UK, there is a motorway that runs from one end of th island to the other, a trip up the Troodos mountains is brilliant on a hot day, as it is usually a good 5-10 degrees cooler. Polis and Latchi are also great places to visit and only approx half an hour from the Kef.
So if you are looking for a self catering holiday, with a great well equipped appartment, great staff, great central location, then give the Kefalonitis a vist, you will not be disappoined.

The apartment we had had a comfortable lounge (with balcony off) and separate bedroom (I think it was meant to be an apt for 4, there are two of us). The kitchen area was small but clean and really quite well equipped - plenty of plates, glasses etc. plus a small counter top cooker/oven and micro.

The complex has several separate blocks and a reasonably sized pool and pool bar close to the reception. Overall decent accommodation, located close to plenty of bars/restaurants on the Tomb of the Kings road however, if I were to visit Paphos again I would choose to stay closer to the harbour/main town area

We have just got back from the the Kefelonitis Hotel Apt, and we had a great time all four of us. We spent two very good weeks in this hotel, and can not fault the place. Staff were all very frendly, rooms were large and clean,Swimming pool clean, and it was great to see all, young and old enjoying the water and the Kefs, facilities together.
The cleeners work very hard to keep us all happy and ensure the rooms are to a good standard. Bar staff are just brilliant, Ted and Helen, are a fantastic team and go out of there way to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one, As are all the staff.
Nicos, Maria and Andrea, done everything they could to ensure we had a great stay at the Kef, all i can say is our stay was a great one, and i will go back some time. I was given some stickers from trip advisor to pass on to places i thought deserved them, and for all the good reasons, i think the Kef comes in to this catagory. If you want 5 star, go 5 star. if you want to meet great people that will make your holiday, a good one go to the Kef.

To all at the Kefalonitis. Thank you.

Room Tip: We had 109 & 110. Great rooms

I was a bit nervous after recent the disgusting review but I found these apartments superb and would certainly go back!!

The apartment was spacious with large balcony, two air con units that both worked at the same time if you stand directly under them and switch them on they both work at same time. The rooms were cleaned everyday apart from Sunday and Wednesday but they were spotless as was the pool area and reception area. Had all the kitchen equipment you need. The beds were comfy

The pool was lovely and clean no problem in getting a sun bed and the pool water wasn't murky.

There are cats around only two at a time it's not infested with them but they don't bother you they only bother people that feed them and they certainly weren't round the pool.

The owners were very helpful telling us where the harbour was etc. the pool bar was good a bit more expensive than the main road. My sister also stopped and they put her near us as she was arriving later than us Again she had no problem with her room and again it was spotless.

The main road has lots of bars and restaurants as do the harbour had some lovely food better than any other holiday. The location is excellent and so is the bus service if you are wanting to go to coral bay only one euro.

The only thing it needs is a lick of paint and a new sign on the outside to make it look a bit more welcoming.

I will be certainly returning the price is good compared to others!!! you get what you pay for!!

We just came back from a 2 week holiday at the Kefalonitis and were extremely happy with our stay! The hotel does not look like much from the outside (needs a lick of paint) but on the inside it is perfect for what we needed - the rooms were massive, extremely clean and kept nice and cold with the air con, the furniture was basic but more than done the job.

The pool area was always clean, with plenty of areas to sit in the sun or shade, and with such a massive pool you were never bothered by too many people in it. Ted was great on the front desk and happy to help.

The hotel was in a perfect location - plenty of good restaurants and bars around it, only a 10 min walk to tomb of the kings and a 5 min bus trip to the harbour! If you are looking for a price friendly, clean and spacious hotel then certainly take a good look at the Kefalonitis Hotel.

Room Tip: In our opinion the blocks towards the back of the hotel were nicer - away from the pool and any road...

We have just returned from 10 nights at the Kefalontis hotel apts and found them great value for money. We went with another couple and paid £495 each for 2 one bedroom apts inc flights, taxi transfers and air con in the rooms. The flights alone are nearly £300 each this time of year.Despite what a previous reviewer has posted,it was nothing like "The Bates motel".
The hotel staff could not have been more helpful or friendly,Ted and his wife were a great help with anything,be it directions or recomending resturants, taxi firms or days out.
The apartments were cleaned every day except sundays and wednesdays. The rooms were big and the air con was a relieve after being out in the heat all day.Despite the hotel being full we never had a problem getting 4 sunbeds together any time of the day around the clear warm pool (not murky!,as has been previously mentioned by the Bates fan).
The hotel is close to many good resturants and bars, the harbour is a good 20 minute walk away, but in the heat 1 euro on the bus is a good option(8 euros in a cab).
We went to Coral Bay a couple of evenings, about 20 minutes on the bus, again for 1 euro. We got a taxi back for 18 euros (the last bus back is at 12.30 and goes upto 2.50 euros each).
On Teds advice we hired a 4x4 car from the rental place opposite the hotel and paid 140euro for 4 days ,with no hidden costs when we returned it.A trip to the Last Castle resturant is well worth the off road drive.
overall I would recomend this hotel,it's not 5 star but great value for money.
