“A very nice hotel, frendly atmopshere and very good nearby facilities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2010

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and we thought it was very nice.

Our room was nice with a view of the mountains, the beds were very comfotrable and always kept clan and tidy by the maid service.

The food was good, they had a good range catering for all types and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel facilities were excellent and they have a lovely spa which I made use of and had a lovely mud therapy treatment.

The pool was fantastic, very nice and big with plenty of sunloungers to sunbathe.

There was a very good bus service with regular stops taking you to Paphos harbour and the airport and the prices were very reasonable.

There was a very good cocktail bar just nearby that we went too most nights, the only downside I would say is that the drinks wre quite expensive and there was no happy hour.

We went in the quiet season but I would still go back to Coral Bay as the beach is nearby and there is still plenty to do.

Overall it was a fantastic holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We even became friendly with some of the people staying at the hotel and they were lovely!

Rooms are clean and tidy, beds a bit firm for our liking. TV selection not good there were 3 channels out of about 11 in English all news. Weather was hot but there was no air conditioning on in the hotel apparently they do not turn on until some time in May (we left begining of May & still off). We had a sea view room and so got some breeze but room still 27c + apparently others were even warmer.
Location of hotel very good for going out in evening and for bus stop.
Food in restaurant was good, but drinks in the hotel were expensive compared to the restaurants and pubs.
Swimming pool and gym were good.
Local area very good with frequent bus service.

I hve not been to Cyprus but would do so again after my experience of staying in this hotel. The staff were brilliant to all and I cannot say a bad word against any of them. The grounds were being readied for a start of hopefully a busy season for the hotal but it did not hinder our relaxing stay.

The food was on the whole very good but at times not what i would eat normally but what can you expect from buffet meals when they are trying to cater for a large number of people and not individuals.

The bar prices were slightly expensive but the option was there for all inclusive ( booked as part of holiday ) so there can be no complaints from people who think otherwise. The only crticism that I have if any is the entertainment at night, DUO, bin them and get someone who can sing to entertain the holidaymakers. ( most people I spoke with agree).

I would definelty return to this hotel and will recommend it to members of my family and friends alike.

I never usually comment on any of these, however after reading the last two comments I had to!.

I was staying at the same time as some say the ' ASH SAGA' I found it plesent, clean and very comfortable. As for the food it was very nice different every day and the staff I found very helpfull. Nice pool area and the actitives throughout was really fun!!!. The two girls that run them was very friendly and not pushy for you to join in. Maybe if some other of the guest joined in they may have enjoyed there stay there a bit more instead of moping around!!!!

People need to realise that if they stay in a 5* hotel and thomson transfer you to a hotel all expenses paid for you should thank yourself lucky you just wasn't taken to the airport and left stranded like many other thousands of people!!!!.. As for unfriendly staff well if you walk around with you face down to the floor just because you are not getting a 5* service then I wouldn't want to help either!!.

I do have to say the atmosphire did change when the so called 5* people arrived which was named by the current guests in the hotel the we all would of been very happy if they have gone somewhere else!!

So count yourselves lucky you got somewhere to stay and be thankful!!!!!!!!

We were unfortunate enough to be transferred here during the volcano fiasco....how on earth could this place merit FOUR STARS I will never know!! The food was absolutely horrendous, cold and really unappetising. We spent four days surviving on feta cheese salad, as this was the only food that couldn't be spoilt! Breakfast was OK.
Bedrooms were dingy and really old-fashioned with uncomfortable beds, although the bathroom was functional at least.
Although we were grateful to Thomas Cook for looking after us, we have to say that if we had paid our own good money to stay at this particular hotel we would have been SOOOO disappointed and angry to say the least.
A four star hotel? The excellent spa and fantastic gym deserve that merit only. As for the rest it was definitely more like 2/3 star. We certainly won't ever be going back.

After reading the other reviews I was astounded and started to question whether I had stayed in the same hotel. We were placed in this hotel after the volcanic ash kept us in Cyprus a little longer than anticipated. We initially thought that we were being moved to a hotel which was roughly like for like with the St George and that we would have few more relaxing days but we were in for a shock! The rooms were dated, the staff were unfriendly and not the least bit welcoming. In fact we felt very unwelcome here. The food was so appalling that we ate at two local pubs which kept our sanity! It added to my anxiety over the cleanliness of the restaraunt when chips were picked up off the floor and placed back in the buffet by a member of staff! Just when we thought we had escaped the whole experience we were confronted by the reception staff who stated that we had an unpaid bar bill at which we had to point out that the signature was not ours on the receipt. No apology was given or explanation and we were dismissed with a nonchalant wave of the hand To add to our misery here there was only one English speaking television channel, Sky News which admittedly kept us up to date with the flight situation though didn't help the boredom from staying in this hotel, the nightly entertainment consisting of bingo/children's disco which was located slap bang in the main hallway of the hotel. Also I made the mistake of buying an orange ice lolly and a cup of fresh orange juice by the pool which cost 6 euros! Scary hotel and was glad to get out of there!! This hotel smacks of an effort from the 1980s both in design and the running of the hotel. Not a pleasant experience and would say that it is a 2 star at most.
It would appear the reason for a 4 star rating is due to there being a gym and spa within.
On the plus side the spa staff were friendly but that is the only plus.

Travelled with husband and 7 yr old daughter. We were transferred here from another hotel after being delayed due to the ash cloud saga. This is not a good hotel at all. The room i have to say was okay, tired decor but clean. The beds were uncomfortable and you could feel every spring in the mattress. No duvet just a sheet and horrid cheap furry blanket. The sunbeds were poor and some were ripped but not removed from poolside. The childrens play area was also poor and some equipment was broken but remained insitu. The grounds/gardens were unkempt and grass overgrown.Nobody seems to care about the upkeep of the hotel or keeping on top of such basic things. Now onto the 'food'.Revolting, awful, inedible are the only words that i can offer and many other guests said the same. This was the worst hotel food i have ever been subjected to. Nothing ever tasted as it should, it was surreal. Some of the delights for example pickled onions with strawberries or perhaps you would like to try sweetcorn and strawberries or maybe for a real treat how about Tiramasu with a nice HAIR in it!! The dining room chairs were terribly dirty and stained. I suppose you could say we were lucky as we hadn't paid for the hotel and were placed here by Thomas Cook, but we would have been very disappointed if we had paid to stay here. No way is this a four star and could only push a three due to facilities indoor and outdoor pool etc. The four star rating was granted due to the spa facilities apparently. My advice stay elsewhere.
