This is a great landmark of Cypriot history and is very well preserved. The staff who supervise the Tombs are really friendly members of staff who are full of knowledge about the site. Children will love the Tombs as you can enter the tombs and pretend to be mummies and see first hand Ancient Egypt. The Tombs are on the main road and are easily accessible (just after Fat Mama's) They are worth a visit and don't take up an entire day. I would recommend and early visit whilst the sun isn't as hot before retreating to a nearby Café on the high street to rehydrate before moving on.

Be prepared to but the guide book and find your own way around. Even then it isn't easy to know what you are looking at and experiencing. Worth a couple of hours as it is interesting, but as others have mentioned, you are on your own here with no helpful signage or even an obvious route to take. Worth going to in summary, but just be prepared for the conditions...

I was amazed at the lengths these people went to bury their beloved in style. The tombs were in a large area, they were varying in size and grandeur. If you are infirm don't go. You need to walk on uneven ground, go up and down quite a few steps, and it is very hot. Be prepared with water, comfy shoes and sun protection. But it only costs 1.70 euros. The bus service is good. There is some shade. The views are good too.

Just 2 euros to go in and you can wander at leisure round an extensive archaeological site - well worth the visit

I think it is fairly obvious that no kings where ever buried here but putting that to one side, the site is fascinating for those who like exploring ruins and catacombs. They do not compare to the rock cut tombs in Petra, Jordan, or the underground tombs at Palmyra, Syria (now no longer accessible) and are not as creepy as the Rome catacombs but are well worth exploring.
Take some water with you - there's nowhere to buy any on site - and wear good shoes, many of the steps leading down into the tombs are very worn and dusty.
There is very little information on site so take a good guidebook. The site is spread out over a large area and there are some wonderful views down to the seashore and across part of Paphos. The inscriptions have been lost over time so there is no indication as to who was buried in the tombs but I suspect it was just the ordinary citizens of ancient Nea Paphos - I am sure that somewhere, waiting to be discovered are the tombs of the well-to-do citizens who owned the magnificent villas.
Don't forget to have a look at the several catacombs along the main road into Kato Paphos harbour.
