Kefalos is in a great location, right on the sea front and next to a paved promenade along which you can walk to the harbour in about 20mins (or run it as we did on several occasions!). The beach opposite is not ideal for swimming as it is quite weedy and rocky, although there is a stone jetty with ladders into the sea. Sandy beaches at Coral Bay and Corallia Bay are within a 20min bus ride (service runs every 15mins). There is modern shopping centre within a 10 minute walk. Our apartment was very nice, fairly basic but clean and quiet. Maid service was good, although on departure we did find a pair of dirty knickers in the top of the wardrobe together with the hood from a jacket so obviously that had not been checked after the last guests! We had a small balcony off the master bedroom from which you could see the sea and fall asleep listening to the waves(decided not to pay extra for sea view).
The complex itself is like a traditional Cypriot village, is clean and well maintained with nice landscaping. The pools were lovely, not too busy when we visited at Easter, and plenty of sun loungers either by the pool or on the adjacent lawned area, which also had volleyball and boules. We went half board and found the food plentiful and varied, usually we adults found no need to have lunch as we were so full after breakfast! I think the thing that struck us the most was the good quality service and attention to detail from the staff. The entertainers, Ramona and Ricco were excellent, very good attitude and professional yet personable approach. Our children (7 & 9) loved the kids club, and were upset when we went out for the day and they couldn't attend! In the evening they enjoyed the nightly kids disco whilst we indulged in happy hour cocktails, quiz & bingo. Some of the entertainment was a bit cheesy but perfect for a family holiday! We felt the children were quite safe running around just outside the bar area with their new found friends, they enjoyed the independence and we enjoyed some adult time. We felt there was a lovely atmosphere and commitment to ensuring we had a great stay, the restaurant staff, in particular, Dino, were very friendly and great with the kids. It is certainly one of the nicest places we have stayed and we would love to return next year. On previous visits to Cyprus we have self catered in a villa with family but this was far more relaxing.

Room Tip: I imagine the rooms overlooking the pool/bar area or car park/road would be nosier. Entertainment t...

We have just returned after getting married at the kefalos beach village. We had an amazing time. Elena took care of all our plans and made sure everything was as we requested. We were lucky to share our special day with so many friends and family who also stayed at the kefalos. The room was very spacious and comfortable and was cleaned to a high standard on a daily basis. The hotel grounds/gardens were well maintained and looked lovely. The food was always very nice with plenty of variety, I particularly liked the different themed menu each night. There were organised activities running throughout the day along with a kids club for the little ones. There were quizzes and Bingo (Mishi Mishi) and other live entertainment in the evenings. The location was perfect, right on the sea front with a nice little beach, only a short pleasant walk away from paphos harbour and right next door to the tomb of the kings.
The hotel staff were brilliant, very friendly and always on hand to make you feel welcome. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone for a holiday or wedding.

We went on this holiday for my cousins wedding. The rooms are a nice size and we were in a lovely courtyard. Nicely decorated and the gardens very pretty. I was very impressed with the quality and selection of food considering we were half board there was lots of choice. The wedding was lovely and the hotel staff were excellent,

Just returned from a super week's holiday at Kefalos Beach. Our accommodation was excellent, room cleaned each day, and our sea view room was well worth the slight extra charge. Food was another highlight with lots of choice and varied menus each evening. Kind and thoughtful staff who went out of their way to make you welcome. A great pool with plenty of sunbeds (also indoor pool) and evening entertainment if wished and we would definitely revisit. Also really handy for local walks and the ancient sites, with excellent bus service. Certainly worth a visit for sea, sun, lazy walks, good food and entertainment and staff who care.

Room Tip: Worth paying extra for sea view

We have just come back from a week at Kefalos Beach and cannot speak highly enough of the accommodation, food and service we received. Our apartment was facing the sea with sunbeds and umbrellas just outside our balcony. The room was very clean and bathroom and furniture in good condition. Even though there appeared to be a lot of people in the dining room at mealtimes, there was always plenty of room around the pool and at the poolside bar and plenty of sunbeds on grassed areas as well. The food was excellent, always plenty of choice and the dining room staff were always very helpful and cheerful. The resort was an easy amble into Paphos harbour which could also be reached by bus from the main road, a five minute walk away. We went on a cruise last year which was very disappointing, and this holiday beats that hands down, and for a third the price. We would definitely go back to Kefalos beach again, and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view room. It is a little extra but some of the inside rooms do not have much view.

A bit outdated, tired and worn. My one room flat honestly had the strangest planning I've experienced. The beds were in front of the kitchen sink and cooker... My room must have been the worst location possible, facing the parking lot and hotel maintenance area. Lots of weddings going on, there was one every day or every other day. Which means if you're not in a wedding party, it might not be as easy to get acquainted to people... Free sunbeds by the sea. Cliffs with steps to sea, only a tiny sandy beach nearby. Lots to see in the area though, historic, antique Greek and Roman remains. All within walking distance. Paphos is a proper old town, Cyprus' oldest I believe, nice and genuine.

We just returned from a one week vacation in Kefalos. We got a studio appartment with sideseaview and I'm glad that we paid little extra for that. Otherwise the appartment could have had a view directly to the small pathways that run cross the "little village" and face another balcony/wall. The room was good size for us (two people). The kitchen had quite good equipment (from electric kettle and microwave oven to wine bottle opener). For light sleeper, I would point out that the fridge was a bit noisy, so bring your earplugs. The beds were quite hard (but they usually are, in these kind of locations) and only english speaking channel that we found on telly was euronews. You had to give a deposit to get the telly remote control. We needed adapters and got them from the infodesk with a deposit. All in all the appartment was good basic level.

We rented "mountain" bikes from the hotel but they weren't so good (in need of maintenance). Some of the bikes were in better condition, so look carefully which one to rent. We also played tennis at the hotels tennis court. We had to pay 10 euros deposit for equipment which was fine for us. We're no professionals, but the equipment and court were in good condition for our play :)

Special thanks to the guy who organised archery and other sports games at the hotel! We had a lovely time at Kefalos, trying different sports, swimming in the outdoor pool, relaxing at the balcony and sightseeing Paphos. The hotel had a great location for sightseeing, as the tomb of kings are located quite near and a bus stop to town is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel village was quite calm during our stay, so we got sunbeds with no trouble at the pool side.
