Have just spent a great week at the Kefalos Beach during which we attended my cousin's sons wedding which took place at the hotel. We all had a fabulous time there, the staff and arrangements for the wedding were excellent, there were a total of 51 of use at the wedding (although not all the wedding party stayed at this hotel) and it is a great place and location for a wedding day. The hotel itself is excellent, we had a fabulous room overlooking the beach and literally 20 metres from the sea, also watched some fabulous sunsets from our balcony. The layout of the hotel is really good all rooms are based in 2 storey blocks and there is a real feeling of space in and around the hotel. It has a good pool area with lots of sunbeds either round the pool or in the extensive grounds, no rushing to get a sun bed there are more than enough to go round. We were on B&B only but that was fine as there are lots of places to eat close to the hotel or in Pathos itself which is only a short bus ride away or a 25-30 minute walk. Breakfast was good with a full English selection or continental and there was a good selection of food available during the day from the pool bar area. I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone who wants a good quality well run hotel to stay in. Just one thing to mention regarding the beaches which are not great although the hotel beach was kept clean and tidy but anyone who has been to Cyprus will know it is not noted for its great beaches although having said that there is a good beach at Coral bay which is a 20 minute bus ride away. Altogther an excellent hotel and a great location for a wedding.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view, we did and got exactly that!

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Kefalos beach with our 18 month old son. We were in Cyprus for my sisters wedding, and had friends and relatives staying at various hotels across Paphos.

I have to say that in terms of accommodation, considering we all paid about the same, we certainly got the best deal. A spacious one bedroom apartment, and I liked the village feel, with apartments in small blocks of four on only two stories. It means you don't have much of a view, unless you pay for a beachfront or pool view room, but then who spends that much time in their room on holiday!

The rooms were spotlessly clean with everything we needed - efficient air con and a well equipped kitchen, and the housekeepers, who came in every day, were friendly and efficient, and made a real effort to interact and chat with our son despite not speaking much English.

Breakfast was ok - pretty much the same thing everyday as expected, and the english cooked breakfast was all very greasy, but lots of other choice, and plenty for our son to eat - yoghurt, fruit, cereals etc.

The pool area was again clean, with plenty of sunbeds available all the time when we were there. The pool bar was a nice place to sit for a light lunch or just a drink, and again we couldn't fault the helpfulness or friendliness of the staff and how much they took the time to chat to us and especially our son, who made lots of friends during the week!

We saw maintenance staff working at the hotel every single day, even if they were just tidying up garden areas. The place was clearly well looked after, which not all of our party could say for their hotels!

The beachfront location is nice, but we did feel we were a little out of the way compared to the rest of our party. They were all within a 5/10 minute walk of one another. We had a 25 minute walk to get to the harbour area which is where most of them were based. We don't mind walking, and the harbour is lovely with lots of bars, restaurants and shops which makes it worth the walk, but if we went back to Paphos, we would go for one of the hotels nearer to the harbour, especially with a toddler as it was too hot for him to do the walk both ways.

There are quite a few bars and restaurants along the main road you take from the Kefalos to the harbour. The Pit Stop bar was nice for just a drink/snack, and we had a lovely meal at San Marino where again the staff couldn't have been more pleasant - making our son toys out of drink umbrellas and straws, and presenting him with a sparkler in his ice cream!

Can't comment on the evening meals or entertainment at the Kefalos, as we were out meeting up with the rest of our party most nights.

Another nice restaurant we ate in was Oasens on the harbour, and the best meal of our holiday without doubt (despite it not being very traditional!) was at Tao Fusion. The staff were so lovely, and we ended up having what can only be described as a feast of Chinese food, with wine and coffee for 24 euros for the both of us.

We may have been unlucky, but on one night we decided that the whole of our party (16 people in total) would go for a meal together, and chose the Captains bistro on the harbour. We didn't find the staff particularly friendly, and when they made a mistake with some of the drinks, they told us that they were 'pretty much the same'. Upon checking the cocktail menu, they weren't the same at all, but we were still greeted with disapproval when we asked that they were changed. Several of our party also had dodgy stomachs the day after, myself included, and we had all eaten seafood there, so would give that one a miss in future.

The only small negative on the hotel itself was the courtesy room offered on the day we checked out. Ok so I know they don't have to offer this, and we had tried to book a late check out but unfortunately left it too late, but if you are going to offer it, then it should be usable. We had to book a 30 minute slot for the room, but the people who used it before us were almost 15 minutes late back with the key, leaving us with 15mins to get the three of us showered and changed. The shower had two settings - freezing cold or scalding hot, and the room was so unbearably hot and steamy that in the end we got changed and left feeling even less clean than we had before! My advice, make sure you get in early for a late check out if your flight isn't until late as ours was.

Overall a lovely week at the Kefalos, and couldn't fault the accommodation at all. If they could just pick it up and move it a bit closer to the harbour it would have been perfect!

Stayed at The Kefalos Village 15/09/13-22/09/13. What a lovely Hotel. Arrived late on Sunday night to be welcomed by a lovely English girl called Sophie. Then we were taken to our room on a golf buggy driven by a very nice man called Geoff who showed us where to go for breakfast in the morning and then took us to our room where he showed us how to use the aircon.( My hubby wants your job Geoff) :-). We e-mailed the lovely Elena to ask if we could upgrade to a sea view and last minute she said she had one and it is worth the extra money the view is amazing and the sun-sets at night are breathtaking. We had a 1 bedroomed apartment (319) which is right beside the pool bar and it was nice and big and clean and the cleaner was always smiling and always said hello. We used to sit on the balcony and watch the shows at night with a bottle of wine. We would like to thank Elena for the bubbly and fruit she left in our room for our Anniversary. We stayed B & B there was plenty of choice and they were always topping it up. You were shown to your table by 2 very funny and friendly guys. We watched about 8 weddings there and what an amazing setting for a Wedding. It is in a very good position for the coastal walk into Paphos we did it one night and it took us 30 minutes. The pool is lovely but we went on the grassy area there were always sun-beds whatever time you went down. All in all a brilliant Hotel and Holiday and would recommend it and we will be back.

Room Tip: Always try to get a sea-view room. The views are amazing.

Spent a week at Kefalos Beach Tourist Village.
The front entrance is immaculately maintained and the apartment accommodation is externally very well presented. The reception staff were very helpful as was Geoff - the buggy man.
Internally the bathroom was starting to look a little "tired" but generally the accommodation was good for a 3* hotel.
The complex is set out like a small village with a small chapel and the plants etc were well looked after.
We were on Half Board. The restaurant offered sufficient choice although personally I would prefer much more Greek/Cypriot food to choose from.
The beach bar/restaurant offered some freshly cooked meals which were very tasty. We enjoyed the Cypriot mixed dips plate. Usual range of drinks available. As a local drink, Ouzo was a bit expensive though!
There is a well maintained walk along the coast to Paphos Harbour which takes about 30 mins.
There is a mini market on site which is well stocked with all the essentials (...and non-essentials/gifts).
The pool was well maintained and a comfortable temperature.
Overall an enjoyable stay but did lack a certain "Greekness".
