“Absolutely Fantastic!!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We stayed at Kefalos for one week for our Honeymoon and have to say it was fantastic. The apartment was very spacious and the views were spectacular (we had a sea view). The food was to die for with a fantastic selection for both breakfast and evening meals. The complex itself was spotless and the apartment was cleaned daily. We did not want to come home! The lovely girl on reception Sophie was so helpful and we even received a bottle of bubbly and a bowl of fruit in our room which was lovely. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Sea View is highly recommended.

Stayed in room 730, a sea view 1st floor 1 bed apartment, with our 5 yr old over Half term hols.
The gentleman who took us to our room on the golf buggy said it was the best room in the hotel! Not sure if it was (next door had their own pool), but it was definately one of the best!

The apartment was very well laid out, spacious & very good condition. The kitchenette had a fridge with ice box, 4 ring hob & oven, microwave, kettle & toaster - everything you needed. The bathroom had a tub with shower head, sadly the jacuzzi jets in the bath didn't work. The bedroom has a huge 4 poster bed, which was a nice surprise & the lounge had a double pull out sofa bed & a single. The apartment had UK 3 pin sockets, which is a nice touch. The TV only had Sky Sports (I think) in English, but we hooked up a portable DVD player easily. Apparently the TV remotes are kept at Reception, available with a refundable deposit.
The balcony was small when drying swim stuff on the airer, but the view was outstanding! Its around 100 yards to the sea, with the sunset right in front of you. The apartment was the furthest south of the pool area, so was very quiet, but only a 5 min walk to the pool. Black-out shutters meant we all slept very well. There were also loungers in front of the apartment block.

The public areas were good & spacious, some nice touches for children. The pool area was good, loungers were available but that was due to the time of year. Getting towels was a bit of a bun fight, they run out quickly, but we spotted fresh supplies when we were having breakfast & hung on to the towels all week. The pool was well laid out with a little shallow kids pool, but the water was icy cold, the sea was warmer! We enjoyed a couple of games of crazy golf & the little play area was good, though the black rubber swing seats were hot! The hotel shop was reasonable value & good for supplies, but they didn't seem to restock in the week we were there.

The beach is narrow & pebbly, but there are several jetties to swim from & small pockets of sand for castle building. The sea was rocky in places. There was a small smooth sandy beach at the northern edge of the Village, but it had brown sand, so didn't look too attractive. The loungers belonged to the next hotel, but you could swim there.

We ate at the snack bar rather than the restaurant & found the food tasty & good value. The breakfasts were good, a variety of choice (cheese & ham, cereals, fruits, yougurts, sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, potatoes, bread) with pancakes on some days. The staff were friendly & relaxed, we were usually the last in there!

Our 5 yr old enjoyed the evening entertainment (kids disco, quiz, bingo & show), while we enjoyed trying the cocktails!

Even though the hotel is north of Paphos, there are shops, bars & restaurants on the main road (10 mins walk), with McDonalds & KFC. We used the excellent bus service 615 to get around (every 15 mins, 1 euro per journey or 3 euros for a day pass, kids free, clean modern bus, friendly drivers). It was 10 mins to Paphos & 20-30 mins to Coral Bay.

We went to Correlanus Beach (just north of Coral Bay, recommended to us by the Rep as better than Coral Bay). Stay on the bus until it turns around after Coral Bay. It was a lovely sandy beach with a free toilet & shower & loungers to rent.

Overall, an excellent hotel & we would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: South side, sea view are the best (GF apartments have larger balconies, but 1st floor have better vi...

A gorgeous site, on the beach, with superb walks/cycles in either direction around the bay which is beautiful. Sit in the pool bar at 5pm and watch the sun drop blazing into the sea. Smashing for our grandson who is 9, we went at half term and he made lots of friends from different countries. Food range and choice excellent. A late checkout gave us a whole extra day in the sun for only 36 euros.
The grounds are fantastic with lovely plants, banana trees, lemon trees and flowers down every path to the apartments.

Room Tip: Ground floor, overlooking the bay - very quiet.

I wanted to try somewhere different this year, i've been going to Crete for a few years now and really love it there but it was time for a change. After browsing the web I came across Kefalos Beach and after doing my home work by reading the reviews on Trip Adviser... which are mostly good reviews it seemed to tick most the boxes except for the beach which reviewers said was rocky and not ideal for swimming. I'm a beach person so this was one of the first things I checked out on arriving, well after checking it out my thoughts were what's our plan b. The apartments were faultless the best self-catering apartments I've stayed in. We paid for bed and breakfast and the food was great, loads of choice and even though peak season no waiting to be seated. Sun loungers around the pool was a no go, not unless you have no shame and wake up in the early hours to put towels on them which in fairness was mainly done so by families with small children and if I had children I'd probably be tempted to do the same. The weather was extremely hot in August and walking around during the day was almost torture but we had worked out our plan b after going to our reps welcome meeting we took the advice on taking the bus to coral beach. The buses are regular but can get packed especially in the evenings. It takes about 10 minutes walking to the bus stop from Kefalos Beach. Coral bay beach was ok and with the blazing sun the sea was welcoming but not very clean, I'd still recommend it as it's about as good as a beach gets in Paphos. The evenings were better and we enjoyed the walk up to the main strip with a good choice of restaurants to choose from, we did expect a bit more choice when it came to cocktail bars and found the night life to be low key, but this was ok as I was always happy to get back to our apartments and enjoy a few drinks on the balcony, strangely not one mosquito in sight which may have been due to the heatwave at the time. We stayed for one week and did enjoy the holiday but will not return as we will be looking for apartments near the beach not just apartments with the word beach in the title. I would recommend a seaview room I wasn't one of he lucky ones to get one but are well worth it as the sunset is amazing.

We seldom return to a place, prefering to move on to new destinations, but chose to return to the Kefalos Beach in October this year, followinfg a visit last year. We enjoy the location and ambience of the hotel. It is maintained to a high standard. The studio was comfortable and well equipped. The staff are friendly and helpful and made our stay as pleasant as possible. Its village like setting is well planned and makes the whole place informal and relaxed. There was a good variety of food in the restaurant especially the salads and local restaurants abound nearby.
We will be making further visits in the future - walking in the Troodos beckons!

Room Tip: The sea views are great in October and November

The room was quite comfortable - bed was very nice. It has airconditioning and a kitchonette. The bathroom is spacious and came with a tub, too! They don't provide shampoo for your hair, so be prepared for that. Also the porches/balconey's don't often have a nice view. But for the money, just walk over to the very nice pool area. As for location, it is great. An easy and lovely walk to the old harbor can be had along the Med. Parking is ample and free. Staff was friendly enough. The breakfast was a good value at 4.50 Euro and all you can eat. You would pay that just for a coffee at Starbuck's!

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the water and not the parking lot

My wife and I booked to stay 12 nights at Kefalos to celebrate her 50th birthday in the second half of October.

We really enjoyed ouyr stay, it was the best place we'd stayed at in our 4 visits to Paphos. We booked a room with a sea view which was worthwhile and the hotel is situated very close to the beach.

There's a large pool, plenty of loungers around the pool and in the gardens and a private beach. Food and drinks at the bar are reasonably priced and there are many bars and restaurants nearby. The harbour is about 1 mile away and a half hour walk along the beach and around the historic site. It is also very close to the Tombs opf the Kings.

My only complaint was that the wi-fi reception was poor anywhere other than in the reception area - it should be easy to extend to the whole pool area and even to the apartments as they aren't that far spread.

Would thoroughly recommend and very reasonable rates too.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea facing apartment - bit more expensive but worth it as you get a great view, sun on the...
