If you get given a good room from the outset which doesn't smell like an ashtray, does have air con and doesn't have an aircraft-like noise all night from the generator or something nearby, you should have an interesting and even comfortable stay here.
Our group who took up 8 rooms needed two changing and this was a problem for the young receptionist who had to keep ringing her manager. In the end my husband and I had to endure a night in an ashtray and a move to a new room in the morning. Staff on duty, although helpful and sympathetic had no power to make decisions and this obviously affects the comfort of guests and the overall impression of the place. There are also extra charges for everything from kettles to WiFi (if it is working) and they took payment up front for the whole stay! This is something I have not experienced anywhere else - the owners are evidently more interested in the financial transaction than the guests' experience.
The place, as other reviewers have noted, is floor to ceiling painted walls in a strange mix of Roman, Greek and Egyptian styles. Where thare aren't any paintings there are mirrors so it makes for good conversation "guess the story" or "where's the door?"
There is a very attractive pool area and comfortable places to sit inside too. The breakfast buffet is great and the evening buffet good value - the salad bar is excellent and the greek dishes in particular are tasty and fresh as the chef is a lovely Greek lady. So, there are some positives but we won't be returning.
