“1st Time Visit Very Impressed”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

My wife and I stayed at The King Jason for one week from 27th Oct. From start to finish we were impressed with the high standards of the hotel. All staff were very friendly and are superbly managed by Andreas who always leads by example.

We stayed B&B but Andreas and Maria were very accommodating in allowing us to upgrade to half board. Breakfast was excellent with a varied choice. Evening meals were varied, if we decided that we didn't like the menu we ate out.
We had a Duluxe room which was spotless and included all cooking utensils if needed. The beds were comfy and bath/shower good. We lacked an oven but we didn't need one.

The walk to the harbour area takes 10-15 minutes and you pass some decent pubs/restaurant.
It was my wifes birthday during the holiday and Andreas recommended the restaurant Cavallini (see separate review) an excellent choice.
The hotel has no entertainment but that did not bother us as we always liked to have a walk after dinner.

Paphos does seem to be struggling a bit, lots of bars shut down but still plenty going on. Maybe a little too British for us.

The King Jason places customer service high on the agenda. Will return in 2014.

Dear guest,

We want to express our gratitude at your recent stay with us at the King Jason.

Thank you also for your wonderful review which has made us very proud indeed. We are very happy that you chose an upgrade to half board in order to savour our delicacies; we have made immense efforts in the past year by upgrading our kitchen facilities and getting together a talented young team so are happy that these are slowly coming to fruition. Paphos is a wonderful holiday destination but it's true that towards the end of the season it gets calmer; nevertheless we are delighted that the Kings Avenue Mall, the biggest in Cyprus, opened last week and it is a big upgrade to the area. We hope you will savour it during your next visit.

We are looking forward to welcoming you next year to the King Jason.

Regards,

The Management

We stayed for a week at the King Jason with our daughter & family who had enjoyed their stay the previous year.
The rooms were lovely, roomy & clean. The staff were all excellent, courteous & helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We didn't want to leave!!

Room Tip: We preferred a second floor room - the lower rooms didn't feel quite so secure (probably in our...

We (family of four) recently stayed all inclusive at the King Jason for a week and really loved it. We had a spacious one bed apartment, this was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was good.
We received nibbles and a drink when we checked in and found sandwiches and water waiting for us in the room.
The pool areas are very nice, a main pool with a separate paddling pool for younger children, an indoor pool and a hydro pool (children under 14 have to be accompanied by an adult) where you can use the underwater exercise machines and get sprayed by various water jets – too cold for me but the kids lovedit ! There were always plenty of sunbeds and towels were provided.

The all inclusive was great, with plenty of choice throughout the day for adults and kids. The food was very good with plenty of options which were always fresh and varied with proper napkins (not paper) and table service at every meal.
You will see some cats but they leave you alone if you ignore them although trying to ignore the newly born kittens was very hard :o)

We walked to the harbour several times; it takes 10-15 minutes and the walk into Paphos town around 25 mins. We took a ride on the Atlantis glass bottom boat and saw a couple of turtles and a shipwreck (and stopped for a swim in the sea). We also went to the archaeological gardens and saw lots of mosaics, this was 3.40euros per adult but children went in for free.
You get a great welcome and it continues throughout the stay, Andreas the manager is very hands on and he and Maria are the perfect hosts. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful. We would recommend this hotel and if we came back to Paphos we would definitely stay here again.

Unless you always stay in 5* hotels when you go away, I just do not know how you could rank this at anything other than a 5.
We have just returned from a week; first time to Cyprus and staying at the King Louis. Although we would not return to Pathos, (see below) it was certainly not because of the hotel. As previous visitors have all commented, its the small things that make this a great place to stay. The welcome drink and nibbles as you check in, the friendly staff, the lovely food, the nibbles handed out around the pool during the day, the little 'goodbye gift' left in your room on the last day to name but a few. (And special mention to Maria on reception - so helpful and knowledgeable about the area.)
We had two studio rooms. They were not the 'deluxe' ones, but still of a reasonable standard. The bathroom had been updated, and towels were changed at least once during our stay. We had room only, but ate in the hotel restaurant one evening, and had breakfast 3 times, along with bar drinks and snacks. All the food was good, and the prices were on a par with the rest of the resort. The location was ok for us - it is about a 15-20 min walk to the main tourist area of Pathos, which was fine at the end of Oct, when the daytime temp was around 26 degrees - not sure it would have been as pleasant in the heat of July and August!
The reason we will not be coming back was because we just found Pathos too 'British'. Yes there were Cypriot Restaurants, but even searching away from the harbour area, we felt they were greatly out numbered by the British Bars/ Fish and Chips/ KFC/ McD /Sunday Roast/Full English Breakfast brigade.
We enjoyed going to the Archaeological Site, and Tomb if the Kings, and had picked Pathos mainly because of the time of year we were going, and not wanting a resort that would be pretty much closed for the winter. Having said that, there were a lot of places shut. We couldn't work out if this was because of the time of year, or if they had gone out of business.
One tip if you want a good beach. (Pathos itself has very little in the way of beach) Get the 615 bus to Coral Bay. BUT, do not get off when you see the Coral Bay Beach sign; stay on to the end of the line, a couple of minutes later. The bus will go down past the large Coral Beach Hotel, and turn around in the car park. Get off here and head down to the beach a few yards away - much quieter and nicer than Coral Bay in our opinion!

Dear guest,

Many thanks for choosing the King Jason as your holiday destination.

We must admit our pride at reading your positive comment and at your immense support of our efforts. We pay a lot of attention to the small things and it is delightful that our guests appreciate them. We can't hide our disappointment that you didnt really like Paphos, but if you do return one day rest assured that the King Jason would welcome you with open arms.

Stayed all inclusive at the king jason for a week and loved it.We had a 1 bed apartment which was spotless and included all cooking utensils if needed. The beds were comfy and bath/shower good. The welcome you recieve on arrival stays throughout the holiday, all the staff and management are very attentive and chatty.
The pool areas are very nice,a big main pool with a small seperate area for kids,an indoor pool and the hydro pool where you can use the underwater treadmill and exercise bike as well as being pummelled by various water jets.Always plenty of sunbeds and towels provided.
The all inclusive was great, plenty of choice at the bar for adults and kids.
The food was brilliant, the guy doing the eggs/omlettes at breakfast deserves a mention, the lunch and dinner options were always varied and fresh and the restaurant area was lovely.
People have mentioned the cats, you will see some but they let you come to them if you want, they are no bother at all.
The walk to the harbour area takes 10-15 minutes and you pass some decent pubs/restaurant,we got a taxi from the king jason to the old town and it was 8 euro each way.We also got the bus to coral bay, which is lovely, for 1.50 euro each way.
I would say if you are travelling with teens you may need to walk down to the harbour area as the hotel has no entertainment, after dinner people will sit in the comfotable lobby area and chat but we liked to get out and about.Friends bar was good fun with the tribute acts(george michael was hilarious) and a few places do the cheesey greek dancing.
As a resort paphos does seem to be struggling, lots of bars shut down but still plenty going on.
Wi-fi free in the lobby but you have to pay to have it in your room, this would be my only niggle as i think it should be free in all hotels by now.
Many thanks to all the staff, especially maria who sorted a birthday cake out for my lad and made him a special birthday table for his lunch.
Speaking to people it seems the king jason has lots of repeat customers and if we decide to visit cyprus again we will be joining them.

This was our 4th visit in 3 years and it's really feeling like home now.

We travelled earlier in June and stayed all-inclusive, the food is wonderful. The staff are always very attentive as are Maria and Andreas. I have never stayed in a hotel which makes you feel at ease immediately and our two weeks was bliss.

Our trip in October was very special in the new deluxe apartments, this time the self catering option suited our needs more. The freedom to please ourselves was the attraction along with total relaxation, we were not disappointed. The rooms are sumptuous, great air-con , wonderful bath/shower, multiple sinks and plenty of storage. The space was perfect for the two of us and we ended up cooking small meals in the room and making our way down to the Harbour most evenings.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone it really is a special place, especially to us and that why we will be back again next year!

Thanks again to everyone for making our stay a memorable one again xx

Room Tip: Try the deluxe room if you can !

Dear guest,

We express our thanks for your lovely comment, following a holiday at the King Jason.

It is a real pleasure that you have chosen us for the second time this year. What we will keep most from your comment is that you came all inclusive in June and self catering in October. This means that our hotel caters for different guest needs and offers the variety required in the modern day and age.

Thank you for your positive comments on the King Jason and hopefully we will see you again soon.
