We got married the day before we arrived at Pioneer Beach. We booked the holiday through Thomas Cook telling them it was our honeymoon. When we arrived 1st drop on coach from airport, check in was very quick. On our door were streamers and notice offering congratulations and in the room a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket with fruit. We both thought this was a nice and thoughtful touch. We had booked b&b as like to go out and eat in the local restaurants, if you like steaks I would recommend the Rib Shack near the triangle or Fat Mama's Tomb of the Kings Road ( waiters & waitress suddenly burst into song) a small bottle of champers given for honeymoon. We had a couple of evening meals in the hotel and they were good value as were the breakfasts I recommend the omeletes. The hotel was always clean and tidy both inside and out. Plenty of sunbeds available, nice to see not many selfish people putting towels out. The towels supplied by the hotel for pool area were excellent same length as sunbed. If you want a holiday away from kids in peace and quiet with polite and efficient staff, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Firstly, id like to start off by commentin on my title! this hotel certainly is very much for couples and you're basically left to do ur own thing which me and my bf found to be great as this was our first holiday together and wanted time alone in out own space! It was peacful and quiet! This hotel caters for those who are older, however this was not a problem for me and my bf as we found it to be a better experience as we found it quieter and more peaceful!!! we loved the independance!!!!
i must say, the entertainment is not great (maybe because me and my bf are only 19) again caters for the middle-older aged but again this was not a problem as buses outside the hotel cost hardly anything and wasonly 5 mins away from the harbour (fab location).
rooms were comfortable and lovely, no problem with them! We didnt have the best view from our balcony but that was only because we didnt pay for a sea-view which i dnt see the point in as ur not goin to spend that much time in ur room! cleaner was great and never barged in ur room as rediculous time in the mornin like other hotels iv stayed at!
the daily entertainment, again not great, but we didnt want this as we enjoyed eachothers company and didnt need anything to occupy us.
cocktails-fabulous and yes got me drunk on the odd occasion lol
food..............DELICIOUS!!! omg never had such great food from a hotel before! we enjoyed the barbeque evening in particular! very romantic dining!
The beach on site is beautiful, however we didnt go into the sea as it was a bit too sea-weedy for us! lol but we prefer the pool anyway.
afertnoon snacks are so wonderful!
all in all, we both had a fantasitc, wonderful time and both made the most of our week at the pioneer beach hotel! as i am only 19, and was my 1st time travelling without parents, i felf very safe and secure in cyprus! i would defrinately return one year!

Service was excellent from the moment we arrived to the time we left. The hotel is beautifully situated. Rather dated in the rooms, but fully equipped with bathing towels for the sunbeds, bathrobes and slippers, fridge, iron & ironing board, Tea & coffee etc, fruit bowl with knife and plate, hairdryer, usual shampoo etc and mini sewing kit, & safe. Everything thought of. Location fabulous, last hotel on the stretch of beautiful beach, so no through traffic. We had a look at other hotels and their bit of beach and gardens, but they weren't half as nice as ours. Food was good, service fast and very polite, clean staff. Food in the cafe and at pool side, very good. Waitress takes your order while your lounging about. Loved the whole experience. Don't do the scuba diving that is recommended. Free go in the pool as tester, good equipment. Dangerous, substandard equipment once at the dive centre. 2 people we went with couldnt do it after a few minutes as ill fitting masks etc. I couldnt see a thing once in the sea due to concentrating on keepin equipment on properly. We hired quad bike for the day from Chris, 5 minute walk from hotel, £20 cheaper than other side of road.Went up into the mountains. Wonderful. Good restaurants, supermarket a lot cheaper than hotel if you want extra t bags etc. Hotel entertainment basic, but enough, as most of us were in bed by 9pm. The massage and beauty salon were lovely and relaxing, nice ambience. Pool spotlessly cleaned. I left £200 in room in wallet on table. Still there when we got back after maids had been in. Will definately be going again.

Location: is quiet with clear view of sea and as its at the end of the road of Hotels there is litle through traffic past it . Its good 30 mins walk to the town but so much better for this as its a lovely walk along the sea path excluding a few bumpy bits of unmade up terrain. Just look at the sea when you get to the area of new building. The mosaics in the town are well worth a visit and hiring a car for a drive into the mountains is a must. Beautiful.

Room : We were initially given a smaller twin room than the double we had booked but it was rectified at once by an excellent manager by the name of Mikey. The room we got looked over the beach and was clean if a little outdated in its furnishing style a al 1980's peach geometric florals and pine furniture.

Food: was what it was . A selection of just about all cuisines to suit all people but we found the short order chinese was the best as it was cooked fresh and to taste. typical fare included the obligatory carvery and chicken dishes but we found it fine. the dining room however did have the feel of a college refectory, too large too noisy and impersonal. And again peach walls and pine 1980s decor surrounded us. it was much better to eat at the sister hotel( no extra charge) which was smaller and felt a little more upmarket, although the food selection was the same.

Lovely pool and spa area. I had a fabulous massage and the hairdresser was excellent. this really is a hotel to go to if all you want to do is relax. Do not expect any real entertainment, the bar did have singers in on most nights but they were fairly average if pleasant to listen to. yet again 1980s music was to the fore !Barry manilo especially.

Staffing levels were high and all were polite and helpful.

All in all great for chilling out, reading and sleeping. Yes I agree wonderful for the grey generation, but even if you've not yet retired this is a little haven of rest if stuck in a time warp.

The hotel is kept spotless and the views overlooking the palm fringed beach are very pretty. If you want to get away from it all then this is the hotel for you. Although there are organised daytime activities, such as boules, aqua fitness, darts, table tennis, etc, these are kept low key and there are no blaring announcements or loud music to disturb the peace. If you are looking for a more lively atmosphere with discos and crazy nights then don't come to the Pioneer Beach! This is definitely a "chill-out" hotel and as most of the visitors are elderly it suits them down to the ground. The hotel is a little way out from the centre of Paphos so not much locally but a bus ride into the Harbour takes you to the livelier bars and cafes. The food is varied and plentiful, buffet style and there are many types of delicious bread and rolls available for all meals. Don't miss the exquisite greek yoghourt, either at breakfast time or dinner time. The waiters are helpful and friendly and waste no time in finding a table for you. Our room had a sea view and was well equipped with all the facilities you would require, including even an iron and ironing board! The room was kept spotless every day with frequent changes of towels and sheets. The bed was very comfortable and included a mattress topper for added comfort. All in all a very relaxing 2 weeks.
