“Holiday in Cyprus”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We have just returned from a two week holiday in this hotel on the 7th July. It was the first time we have visited Cyprus, the hotel was spotless and the food was wonderful. They catered for everybody’s needs.
We upgraded to a superior room with a sea view which was well worth the money. We could then eat in any of the à la carte restaurant every night if we chose to do so.
The staff were very attentive; we holiday abroad every year but find that they provided us with some of the best service we have experienced on our travels.
The only minor niggle is the sun beds, unless you were up at 6 in the morning it was difficult to get a good position for the day.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view the front of the hotel faces a car park and main road.

Me and my wife recently had a 10 day holiday in the Pioneer beach, and we must agree with the reviews it was a really good hotel, immaculately clean and the food and service were of a high standard, I cant comment on the entertainment as we went out to the town every night, but supposedly the entertainment is good.

Having read some of the reviews, they seem to state that you can walk to Paphos in 20-30 mins, we tried this the one night 45 mins later we arrived at Paphos harbour, whoever can walk this in 20-30 mins must be a power walker.... after this we caught the bus when we went out, to the town.

Things The hotel can improve on ...they could offer free WI-FI, and cold glasses when they serve you a drink of beer, but apart from that there are no real issues

If you do go down to the harbour for a drink, then try the Cafe Mar Bianco, on the harbour front, also try the Flintstone Bar, the Crows Nest, and The Keg....all really good bars

Have a great time it is a lovely hotel

This is one of the best hotels that we have stayed in. The food was excellent with a wide variety of choice including chinese buffet. Breakfasts were amazing with everything you could think of including at times a glass of champagne. The Staff bent over backwards to make your stay a pleasant one and the rooms were spotless and you were greeted with a drink on arrival. It is situated right by the beach and you could walk from our hotel along the sea front right into Paphos. Transport was good the local buses were on euro each way or three euros to hop on and off as many buses as you want in a day. The people were very friendly and hospitable. We would definately return to this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a standard room at the front of the hotel and there was no problem but only a view of the loc...

The overall experience for this hotel is something we will not forget. The standard of cleanliness, service in restaurants, friendliness of all the staff, choice and quality of food were all top notch. The only downside I would say is the standard of evening entertainment, which could have been better for this standard of hotel. A couple of nights we had a great experience, the Greek evening and the Sinatra evening in particular. Easy to relax with high quality sunbeds/parasols and no towel fight early morning for the best beds, very civilised. Husband was in the sea swimming 2 or 3 times a day, safe beach. We both used the pool which was easy to swim in and water warm.

Room Tip: We had a superior room and all inclusive. I can't praise enough the efforts of the staff to mak...

Lovely hotel, would recommend, would go back, did have lunch a few days and it was really good but we do b&b only, we like to go out, lots of eateries & bars within walking distance. Hotel clean . Staff all very efficient and helpful, the towel at the pool thing is very annoying, sad people leaving towels at 6am. Rooms are quite spacious and nice no complaints on any part of this hotel., the Thompson couples was new to us, no noise was really quite good.

Room Tip: Upgrade rooms are much bigger

We have just returned from a week at this Hotel. We loved it.
Our flight arrived slightly later than expected and we were greeted & an array of food & desserts was left in our room.
There are 4 restaurants to choose from. Our favourite was Thalassa restaurant which was right on the beach, the choice of food & drinks was really extensive. We had the steak - recommend! (included within the all inclusive package). The Oydessea buffett restaurant had so much choice!

There is also a cocktail bar were there is an array of cocktails, beers, premium spirits (Smirnoff JD etc) even champagne cocktails all included within our all inclusive package.

The beach was a 5 min walk from our room so handy. plenty of sunloungers. we even had a waiter get us drinks on a daily basis. and we took advantage of the free ice cream!

We had a mountain view room, all inc package and it was lovely. not oversized. a mini fridge is in the room filled with drinks (included in our inclusive package)

The lay out to the hotel is just right. It is so clean, cleaners even cleaning the pathways. They leave clean towels/toiletries for you every day.

This was a wonderful place to go, we are a young couple and its just what we wanted, a nice relaxing holiday. We did go to the the centre of paphos (night life) one evening and it was a good 20-25mins walk away but you can walk along the coast so its very pretty!

Age wise we were in our minority but we didn't care, everyone was friendly and lovely.

The staff were top notch. so helpful, friendly and efficient!

Recommend!!! we will certainly be going back at some point!!

We have just returned from this hotel and it was our 5th visit!! We have now been back 5 times which speaks for itself. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and very efficient. The bedrooms are a little on the small side but certainly didn't put me off. A few years ago people were complaining that the beds were hard but this time, the beds had been changed and the mattresses were perfect. The food is excellent and varied and the waiting staff very attentive. We recognised a lot of the staff from previous years, so obviously they are treated well. Nearly everyone we spoke to had stayed at this hotel before.

Whilst the hotel is in a quiet area there is a bus stop just a short distance away. Tickets cost you 1.50 euro for one way, wherever you go. If you plan on travelling a lot on any one day then recommend buying a 5 euro ticket as you can use this as many times as you like in one day. You need to catch two buses if you want to go up to old Paphos and the market (ie, 3 euro per person). From the hotel you catch the 611 bus to the harbour. You then catch a 610 which drops you right outside the market. Buses run every 10 minutes and also late at night.

Our departure from the hotel was hassle free and it was such a nice gesture for the manager to shake your hand when you headed for the coach. He, and other members of staff waved us off.

Room Tip: Strongly recommend you stay here.
