“The dreaded Disease Has Spread”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

I totally agree with previous reviews regarding the service and quality of food. Before booking we looked at earlier reviews which one person complained about the reception staff - what?
The staff were superb giving prompt attention and always smiling and i cannot praise them highly enough.
Food was superb as was the waiting staff and the chefs who were always ready for a chat and a bit of banter.
Noticed that there was a fair few romanians employed as waiting staff but were very efficient and had good command of the english language and did not let the side down.
The disease i refer to is the one relating to the sunbeds, it was always germans that were guilty of getting up at the crack of dawn to claim the best sunbeds - not any more - i sat on the balcony every morning with a cuppa and watched the steady flow of pensioners claim their beds for the day, one after the other. It was funny and sad at the same time.
My wife and i would have breakfast, go back to the room and pick up some towels and go and choose a sunbed either by the pool or in the garden - plenty to choose from even after an invasion from a hoard of germans on day 3 of our stay. All i can say is get a life.
The entertainment was pretty dire and i think that if this is part of the package Thomsons should make a lot more effort, maybe a comedian or a duo, not a solo artist singing the same old songs.
We tended to go out for a walk in the evening to a local bar or get a bus to the harbour because of this.
We would recommend the spa having had a massage, the staff were very professional and attentive.
Having said that, you should not let this put you off as it is a wonderful hotel with wonderful staff that fulfill your every need that makes the holiday you save for, and hope for become a reality.

We have just come back from a wonderful week at this hotel, all that is written in the other reviews is true. We were treated exceptionally well, we had booked the superior room and it's well worth it. We had champagne on arrival and every morning for breakfast. The service, food and cleanliness of the place was exceptional and any one going here will not be disappointed.

Spent our honeymoon here - emailed the hotel to say that we had upgraded to the 'superior' package and was on honeymoon.

Manager emailed back to say we would be treated well. That was an understatement!

Arrived and immediately taken aside by the lovely concierge Elana for an induction to the hotel - two free glasses of champagne, bags take to room. Balloons on door of the room. Fantastic room, probably the one in the pics - best view in hotel IOurO. All marble bathroom with jacuzzi and all amenities.. A bottle of iced champagne waiting, bottle of wine in the fridge. Expresso coffee machine, king size bed, luxury bathroom accessories, Veranda with sun loungers, and chairs, and sea view. Our own personal Cabana - yards away.

Quite a good start!

Breakfast - because we booked superior (well worth it), use of small private resteruant. Free champagne for breakfast all week! Food superb - full English, and or, fresh fruits including wonderfully sweet oranges (all peeled and sliced for you) exotic fruits such as dragon fruit, figs. An array of cereals and meuslis, a selection of about twenty different dried fruits. Lots of diffeent cold meats.
A chef on hand to freshly cook your omelettes or your pancakes (with any dressing you care to wish for - even white chocolate) . Fresh coffees, teas, or freshly squeezed orange, grapefruit or more - perhaps gauva juice? Eat in or perhaps outdoors by the pool in the sun under the Palm trees (listen to the sea and sneakily feed the sparrows).

Pinch yourself - your not dreaming.

We ate in the main secondary restaruant most of the week. Again the food was so good there was little point in trying to go upmarket - though you could if you wished.
No room to explain all the dished perhaps a hundred or so to choose from including Full English pallette and full Greek. I remember the Kleftiko and the Swordfish.

We dined in the 'best' restaruant only once and we chose to have sole with lemon and honey sauce - simply superb.
Service was excellent throughout the week. Always friendly without being intrusive, seemed genuinely interested in your pleasure. Room cleaned twice a day.
I had trouble connecting my Netbook to their internet - phoned down and a young man was with me in our room within five minutes to fix it. No hanging around waitingfor tips - in fact one girl refused a tip. We had a leak - plumber called fixed in a few hours.
The attention to detail was everywhere, We watched them wash the concrete path to the pool every day. They even came and checked the loudness of the air con with some meter. There was even a bowl of perfume (with floating rose) in the gent's marble clad toilet! (that's a first ;) ! )

Entertainment - All the luxuries provided, spas swiiming pools, gyms, nail clinics, hair salons, minimart, various courts> The only downside of the week was the desperately poor evening entertainment provided by Thompson we were told. A motionless Karyoake singer, reading lyrics from a laptop, or a deluded 'guitarist' that also (unfortunately) widdled on the piano for over an hour without actually constructing a phrase. No actual songs just the same widdles over and over. This was not the hotels doing and should hopefully be sorted out by the time you reach there. Don't let this spoil your idea of the hotel though there is plenty more to amuse you and I believe they were about to sort this matter out - many complaints.
BTW. This is not a children's hotel. All the other residents were 'in their prime'. No tattood yobos or heavy drinking going on. We loved that. Romantic sunsets. Beach had a problem with seaweed, which they were clearing, this never bothered us as there was both an indoor and an outdoor pool and plenty of area to sunbathe.
At the end of a superb (word fail me it was fantastic) week, we were greeted again by Elana for goodbyes.
Frankly, entertainment aside (and this should be fixed), I could not have expected better, my new wife agrees. We could not have had a better start to our new marriage. It's a really fabulous memory that we shall both share - until our next visit

Room Tip: Upgrade to "Superior" but you don't really need the 'all inclusive'. There ar...

We stayed at this great hotel from the 7th to the 14th november 2012. We are a married couple in our early 60,s. We think it,s all been said before but this is a very good recently refurbished hotel which is efficiently run with a couple of exceptions. We didnt think the location was stunning as someone said but the rooms and facilities well made up for it.It will be closing for the winter in the next couple of weeks which is a shame because we think the popularity of this hotel would keep it going throughout winter.
If you fancy the look and sounds of it, get in now and book early for next year.
Our only gripes were that the air con was abysmal in the room and in the public rooms. It is also very noisey in the bedrooms.
The pool looks very nice but it,s far too cold to venture further than a couple of steps. There is a heated indoor pool only a few feet from the outdoor pool.My husband said it was ok but i prefer outside pools. I moaned about it all week as the weather was very hot after the storm had left us. The food is excellent, there is even a chinese chef cooking great stir fries for you.Full marks for this Pioneer.
Drinks very reasonabley priced for an hotel. We went full board and had some lovely tasty lunches not far from the outside pool and the many comfortable sunbeds that are dotted around. If your not fussy about the location go for it, you wont beat this for 4 stars. In our opinion the location is NOT stunning.

This hotel is one of about 5 hotels on the very outskirts of Paphos which can be reached by bus in 10mins. Very good bus service and cheap as well. Paphos is a very run down town with not much going for it but the buses will take you anywhere. If you like cats this is the place for you. The Constantinou Bros hotels in this area make sure they are all looked after.

As this is a couples hotel we found it to be peaceful with many people in their 60,s plus. It suited us fine, no screaming kids.
Entertainment is low key. There is a great gift shop come supermarket which for a hotel sells wines spirits beer chocolate biscuits crisps and many other things. I forgot to take my toothbrush so i got one there. We found Cyprus to be a very expensive country so didnt buy much. We had a standard room which was great, no complaints, modern and comfortable. We found the view of the wasteland to be no problem but other,s dont like it. There are plenty of choices of rooms so it,s up to you.

Room Tip: If you are fussy about your view make sure you book a pool / seaview room

I cannot praise this hotel enough, the service was excellent, the hotel was exceptionally clean, food was very good and varied, we went to the flambe evening and it was the best steak my husband and myself have ever had. It was a lovely experience to be sipping champagne for breakfast whilst sitting outside looking at the sea. We had a sea view room which was fantastic. I highly recommend that you stay at this hotel you will not be disappointed, we will certainly be making a return visit.

Room Tip: Upgrade to deluxe, its well worth it

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Perfect for couples. Exceptional staff at all levels throughout this incredibly clean hotel. Large selection of buffet style food, beautifully displayed and catering for all dietary requirements. There seemed to be a sunbed for everyone, with plenty of umbrellas both at the poolside, in the garden area and also at the beach. Would not hesitate in recommending this hotel.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel during the UK August bank holiday week. It was wonderful being child free, not that I dont like children its just that it can be so hectic and not relaxing if there are parents getting stressed over children on holiday. We had the most relaxing week and didnt want to leave when the time came to go home.
We stayed on the inclusive plus package and it was well worth it.
The food was of a good standard and the rooms were very comfortable.
It was easy to explore the island with bus stops just down the road from the hotel.
It was lovely to see the owner of the hotel visiting, the staff said he visited everyday to make sure there were no problems.
TheThompson reps were both lovely and very helpful.
I would return to any if the Constantinou Bros hotels as they are all well run.
