Just returned from this hotel and what a great place, lovely and clean and staff fantastic great value for money. We stayed bed and breakfast which was fine and a good choice to start off the day. We found the meat academy a great place to eat good portions and reasonable price and great friendly service.

My partner and I have just spent 1 week at this hotel and have no complaints. After a long journey due to flight delay we finally arrived at the Avanti Hotel late evening. The english guy at reception was really nice and check in was quick. We were located on the third floor at the front of the hotel (not a pool view) but this turned out to be fine, we were hardly in the room and there was no noise, always had a great nights sleep. Room was a good size and very clean, maybe a few little updates here and there but nothing major. Pool area was lovely, always sunbeds, yes people do save sunbeds, we did it as everyone else did it. I don't think you will ever get away from that but even so, there was always sunbeds around and lovely shaded areas, which was great as even in September the weather is pretty hot. We were on B&B basis and it was worth getting up for. We ate out for lunch and evening meal so I can't comment on the food in the hotel. It had been 12 years since I'd last visited Paphos and have always been told its expensive. We didn't find it expensive at all, if you want to go out and eat out at expensive restaurants then yeah thats when it gets expensive but you can go out and get a three course meal for 13-15 euros....bargain!
We were pleasantly surprised of how many restaurants and bars were actually around the hotel, it was really nice. Also a couple of supermarkets so you can stock up your fridge with water etc.
It was roughly about 15-20 mins walk to the main town/harbour area depending on your pace but if you came out of the back of the hotel (pool area) and crossed over the road towards the beach, you can walk to the harbour along the beach which is a really pleasant walk, we did that a few times.
Overall I would recommend this hotel, I would probably stay at the hotel again as we don't tend to stay at the same hotel more than once but we really enjoyed it here.

Not the best 4* hotel ive stayed in, we stayed on the top floor (5th)with great views of the pool and sea but noisy air con on the roof which went on all night every night disrupting our sleep, food was just ok but the rigmarole of queuing up to be taken to a table every night was just silly. Then tables are too close together and it feels like your sitting with strangers unable to talk because it feels like they are listening which they are probably not. My biggest complaint though was the night time entertainment which was unbelievably poor,
Paphos harbour was good but not many shops and the town 3kilom away is not worth visiting.
on a positive note the weather was great

Room Tip: try the 4th floor

Having stayed here twice now, we feel we can recommend the hotel as good value for money. The reception staff are friendly and accommodating. The cleaners are also efficient and friendly. The animation team September 2013 were excellent. The evening entertainment had something for everyone. We were b/b and found the breakfast variety extensive and tasty. We sometimes had a lunch at the pool bar, quick service and generous portions at a reasonable price. The pool area has lots of sunbeds with shaded areas in the grounds, we never had a problem getting a sunbed, despite some people saving them [ why do people do this? ], pool towels are provided which is great. The hotel is well positioned for walking to the harbour or you can use the bus. All in all, really good value.

Room Tip: we had a room over the reception area looking towards the hills ,nice and quiet

Just had a 1 week holiday and found the avanti hotel to be excellent. The staff were very friendly and the room was spotless, and cleaned daily. Disappointed with the food at the main restaurant but as we were bed and breakfast this didn't spoil our holiday as we ate out most nights. Found paphos itself to be a little tired due to the economic downturn but would definitely come back

Our wedding: We booked our wedding at the Avanti hotel through Thomas cook 18 months ago after much searching around the globe! We definitely made the best choice everything is very relaxed and stress free our wedding planners Megan & Liza sorted everything out for us and the costs we paid were actually lower than expected which meant we could upgrade some things like flowers & more photos etc. It was very good that Liza and I emailed before we flew out so she answered any questions we had very efficiently. Liza is such a lovely person she just wants the best for your day and will bend over backwards to provide it.

Our planners kept us informed every step of the way and looked after us. Megan was bringing much needed drinks whilst we were in the baking sun having our photos taken and Liza decorated the ceremony and reception areas beautifully much better than we could have imagined. I was glad to have upgraded my flowers to a shower bouquet it was gorgeous and the photos are amazing we are over the moon with them. Liza arranged for my dress to be pressed after it was scrunched up in hand luggage and it came back better than new!

We had 34 guests and everything a UK wedding would have and more. Ceremony, confetti, photos at the venue & beach, speeches, cake cutting, first dance all in a private outdoor area then joined everyone else in the hotel bar later where I changed my dress into something comfy for a nice relaxed evening enjoying the hotel entertainment and our guests company.

Also after dieting for a long time we thoroughly enjoyed the champagne breakfast the next morning! and the spa facilities,
private jacuzzi etc. Anyone who wants to get married abroad I would highly recommend it! All of our guests loved it and want to all book again next year.

Honeymoon:
Perfect stay at the Avanti hotel in Paphos, Cyprus. Great spot close to bars & restaurants whilst being a stroll away from the beach. The harbour is about 20 mins walk away and plenty of buses outside the hotel. Staff all very helpful and lovely. Food was very good & varied with different themes. We enjoyed our wedding meal and barbeque night the most. The hotel is an excellent standard no need to really leave it! Also there were no Mosquitos so was nice to be left alone by them for the 2 weeks stay.

Our room had beautiful views and was cleaned every day. Plus you get lets of treats and surprises when your on the honeymoon.

Weather was sunny & hot everyday out of 14 nights so we became addicted to the iced coffees at the bar!

Kids entertainment in early evening & then other entertainment later on which we all enjoyed over the course of the 2 weeks. Overall excellent good hotel to suit anyone except maybe big groups of lads & girls looking to party.
My husband and I hope to be back again to celebrate one of our anniversaries.

Returned from a great 1 week holiday at the Avanti Hotel. The main reason of going to Paphos was for a friends wedding which took place at the Athena Beach Hotel a few minutes walk down the road. We chose the Avanti mainly because of the reasonable price and good reviews, nice photos online of the hotel.. and we wasnt dissapointed at all.
Always helpfull staff on reception - welcoming and friendly.
Our hotel room number was 4004 and it was lovely, a nice view of the sea and also some of the pool and gardens which was nice.
Clean and tidy rooms, king size bed, good sized TV, hairdyrer, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.
We stayed half board, the breakfast was good, all your usuall cerals/ fruits/ yogurts, toast/ bread, sausage, eggs, omelettes, beans etc juices too. You can either choose to sit inside and eat breakfast or outside undercover.
The evening meal is in a different restaurant and there isn't a choice to sit outside. There are themed nights which are.. Italian, Gala, International, BBQ, Chinese etc. Even though the choices of food arent massive compaired to some hotels there is always something for everyone. And the soup everynight was delish!
The pool area was great, plenty sunbeds around even later on in the morning, so we didnt need to get up at the crack of dawn to put towels on. Not many children around which made it more relaxing. Excellent facilities.. gym, indoor pool, sauna, kids club, spa etc.
There are quite alot of cats which live at the hotel, they are cute and friendly but some people might not be animal lovers. They dont bother you unless you call them over but they are always walking around the gardens and near the outside breakfast area.
The animation team are very friendly and energetic, there was french bowls, archery and aqua gym or volly ball going on throughout the day. The girls have a laugh with you but dont force you to take part.
Overall hotel in great location with bars and restaruants all around. A great place to stop by at is Da Vinci's all home cooked and fresh meals.. and Mario is a nice guy!
The harbour is a nice walk and more lively at night times espesially weekends when the locals are down there.
One thing to remember is that its English plug sockets at the hotel so no need to take adapters :)
Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed it and would return around the same time of year due to the quietness and also the temp isnt too hot :)
