I've just been to this hotel and it was one of the best hotels I have ever been to. Staff were extremely friendly and impressive, as they would remember your names and room number within 2 days! The only problem is with the food. For adults, their menus have a wide selection of a meat meals, like lobster, sea bass, chicken and pork. But for the typical 10 year old girl, meals were terrible! There was no choice whatsoever. That was the only downside to the hotel. Our room was a superior deluxe room with sea view and balcony on the 4th floor. We were in room 448 and it was one of the best rooms ever! If you are thinking of buying a room with its own private pool, they aren't worth the extra £2000, as they were tacky and looked unfinished. Normal rooms looked ok, but not the best. If you don't get a sea view room, the hotel isn't good at all. You would be overlooking a busy main road and car park. At lunch, the beach bar serves hamburgers and toasties, which are both served with crisps and salad. At arrival in the reception, you are greeted with flavoured water next to the doors. Cause we were superior, we got checked in by a girl called Stevy, who was lovely! On the last day of our holiday, we were treated to an accidental bubble bath jacuzzi! Two boys poured bubble bath into the jacuzzi, making the management furious! Overall, this hotel was really good and I would go back anytime!

The hotel food is good, the bar drinks are expensive, the rooms are small.
The staff are Ukranian.
We went to a bowling holiday run from UK and that was expensive. The organisers did not know what to do with our group as they did not care about us really.
The hotel bowling co-ordinators were from the south of england and looked down on us northerners somewhat. They live there on a freebie and were only concerned about their type of bowling which was different to ours.

The area around the hotel is suffering with the economic climate as all the shops are shut.
So if you want a value for money holiday Cyprus is not the choice and the Athena is way too expensive.

They have a sister Hotel next door which they palm people off to which is so cold and dreary that is belies the name Royal Athena Beach Hotel as royalty would never stay there.

Stayed at this hotel last September for my daughters wedding. I was wonderful. The service and courtesy shown was first class. I would return and recommend this to my friends and family.
The only down side was the beach. Very small and rocky. Lots of better beaches within 10 minute walk. I used the spa and the hairdressers. Excellent service. The terrace was beautiful to relax on with a glass of vino!!!!!!!!Staff are very attentive. Loved it.

Room Tip: I paid extra to upgrade to a supier romm. We ended up with a suite. Well worth the extra. Also on th...

After experiencing a 'less than satisfactory' holiday a couple of years ago in Menorca, this was our first time abroad since then and we wanted to ensure we picked the best possible holiday within our budget. I became a Trip Advisor 'stalker'. The Athena Beach Hotel in Paphos was everything and more we hoped for and we had a fantastic holiday. The hotel, location, facilities were all fabulous; the food was lovely and our daughter, who is an extremely fussy eater, had plenty of choice at every meal. We're booking up for next year.

Room Tip: We requested a high floor with sea view and, although we only booked 3 weeks before departure, we go...

I just come back from the athena beach hotel we stayed in superior room but no superior sleep due to night club opened this year over the road.
We booked too superior rooms for myself and my husband and my son and his wife and daughter as they have stayed there before and recommended
This hotel to myself. Don't get me wrong the hotel was great and so was the food and the services we got.
The manager changed our rooms to further along the corridor but that was just as bad for me and my husband so we were moved yet again to a side viewf standard room and asked to sign a disclaimer as we were down grading our room so we did not claim against them.
We will go back but not in the same rooms the superior rooms on the front should be either better sound proofing put in or down graded to normal rooms and have all superior rooms in the side and front were there is no noise.

We have previously stayed at the Asimina Suites hotel which is fantastic but we chose to stay at the Athena Beach because we were taking our 17 year old grandaughter with us & thought that there would be more for her to do, we were not wrong. Although the Athena beach is far larger than the Asimina Suites it manages to maintain the same high standard that the Constantinou hotels have.
We had a basic room which was perfectly adequate, we looked out over the fields across the road & over the mountains further back, we feel that upgrading to a better room is not worth doing as the only time we use the room is to get dressed & to sleep in.
The food in the main buffet restaurant was very good with a very good selection, as we had booked the all inclusive package we were entitled to 2 visits per week to the a la carte restaurants, we chose to go to the Adonis which is situated near to the beach with view overlooking the sea. The food was of a really high standard as were the staff, starting with the restaurant manager who was extremely helpful & friendly then there was Daniel, Silvio, Violeta & Adrian, our grandaughter thought that Silvio made the best Malibu, lime & lemonade drink in the hotel, they all could not do enough to help make your dining experience special.Best wishes to Violeta on your forthcoming marriage.
Having been to the Asimina Suites which is adults only we thought that there may be too many noisy kids around but we found that the kids seem to stay around one pool & the adults used the lawns & the beach so were pleasantly surprised.
We would recommend the all inclusive package especially to families, you are given a card on check in which you use at all of the bars & restaurants, much better than having a wrist band on for 2 weeks.

Room Tip: we had a basic room which overlooked the road & fields but we were happy with it & found tha...

Your always hesitate booking a holiday and will it live up to the same as before, this was our second visit and our minds were put at rest as soon as we entered the hotel. As a family of three which included my 10 year old daughter, the hotel had to cover a lot of requirement's for us all.
We didn't want a fully all inclusive package and preferred the half board deal and also enjoyed the ability to swap evening meal for lunch, which give us time to explore Paphos town on a couple of evenings.
During the day there is no mad scrabble to find beds, unless you want to be adjacent to the Pool, we also enjoyed the towel service as this kept luggage weight to a minimum. The ability to use a card service to request drinks during the day is very handy and enjoyed the 'Happy Hour' on a evening before our meal. My daughter loves the breakfast choices from porridge, pancakes, waffles, boiled eggs and my daughter was happy to see 'the egg lady' for breakfast was still there. A special mention must be made of the chefs at a lunchtime, who always had a smile on there faces, no matter what people were requesting.
A lot of reviews talk about how clean the hotel was and we couldn't agree more, the many staff from all departments seem always to be busy. The gardeners should also get a mention for there attention to detail and always trying to keep the grounds in 1st class condition.
We also picked up a lot of conversations from other guests on the topic of long trousers on a evening in the restaurant, and we remembered this from our 1st visit so were prepared. I think there should be a review on this policy and maybe include tailored shorts.
In all an excellent holiday and our final day we received a bottle of champagne for finding a camera which somebody had left in reception. And we were glad to hear that the hotel had organised a taxi to return the camera to the rightful owner before the boarded there flight home.
This gives a example of how they are always striving for complete satisfaction.

Room Tip: Remember long trousers for gentlemen, unless they have changed there policy for evening meals.
