My Partner & I have just spent 10 days at this fantastic hotel, we had a standard side sea view room which was lovely, the room was cleaned every day to a high standard, we went all inclusive so we were eating three times a day, the choice & quality of food was excellent , some of the alcoholic drinks were branded, which came as I nice surprise to us, the waitress,es worked so hard ,as soon as your glass was empty they were there asking if you wanted another drink, superb service, the pool and garden area was well kept, the animation keep were brilliant but not pushy, the location of the hotel was perfect, just a short walk to Paphos Harbour, we will be returning to to fantastic hotel, all staff on site can not do enough for you

We originally booked into the Athena Royal, but 2 weeks prior to travel were informed that they had overbooked and offered us a room in the Athena Beach, which included an upgrade to a Superior Room. It turned out to be a good move, the staff were excellent, the area for sunbathing was large enough to ensure that you weren't on top of each other and there were always plenty of sunbeds available, no matter what time of day you went down. Breakfast was superb and the hotel had an option to upgrade to half-board for a minimum of four nights at 15 euro each per night (well worth taking). The evening buffet meals were themed, but that didn't really mean much as each night was just a change of carvery meat, all the rest was the same. Having said that, the food was good. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily and the whole outside area around the pools was washed down each morning. The pools were spotless. Definitely worth upgraded to Superior as you get free wi-fi in your room, free safe key and late bookout to 18.00 if available, unfortunately we only got to 16.00, but that was better than booking out at 12.00 and having to sit around until 19.00. We will definitley be going back.

Room Tip: If you can afford it book a superior room.

The Hotel is good the Staff very helpfull if poorly trained but
Don't waste your money on the WiFi it will drop out. After a couple of minutes in your room. It only works properly in the reception area which can be a bit public.
The air conditioning in the public areas is pathetic and is turned off at 10pm hot or not. The staff are friendly but don't expect to get a drink in less than 10mins , worst case was 20+. Despite booking transfers through the hotel web site it was sub contracted and the hotel had to phone the uk to contact them . The checkout was not fully explained , having to checkout at 12.00 with departure being at 15.00 meant putting your luggage in a holding area , if you booked it there was a courtesy room allocated for half an hour to get changed in before travelling.

This hotel has been newly refurbished and is very nice. It's a 4 star hotel so offers many facilities and amenities and caters for large groups of people. There was a wedding, a dance school and a bowls club all staying while we were there. Fortunately the grounds are large so you don't feel surrounded by people except at breakfast time, when the entire hotel is in the restaurant at pretty much the same time.. There is absolutely no need to have more than B&B at this hotel as it is surrounded by really good restaurants and also only a short bus ride to Paphos Harbour. The harbour area is very touristy and purpose built and not my cup-of-tea but may appeal to other people. This hotel is away from that and is directly on the beach which is lovely. Pools are beautiful and I was often the only person in one of them. Service is good, rooms are cleaned to a very high standard and I have no complaints about this hotel. If you can afford it, opt for the superior rooms as you get slightly better service.

Room Tip: We were on the road (garden) side which was fine but obviously no view, but not noisy.

I don't know what more this lovely hotel and it's charming and gracious staff could possibly do to please. We have just returned from a one week holiday starting 30 Sep 12 staying in room 275 on BB basis - we never actively selected the hotel as we went on a ballroom dance based holiday and this was the venue. The Athena Beach is beautifully situated over looking the gleaming sea but just 20 minutes or so walk into Paphos along the coastal path. The attractive pools merge into garden and thence onto the beach. Food was delicious and we especially appreciated the abundance and variety of fresh fruit and delicious salads. The hotel has a real buzz with plenty happening each evening and attractive public areas and terraces to sip a cocktail or a coffee. Staff everywhere were exceptionally pleasant, friendly, efficient and discreet. It was a minor niggle and seemed a little old fashioned to have to pay for internet access but this was freely available via some of the upgrade options I believe. We had a delightful week and hope to return - thank you to all at Athena Beach.
