My wife and I have just arrived back in UK after spending a week in this fantastic hotel. The staff are so professional, charming and so helpful. The food incomparable; the ambiance so relaxing; the entertainment so enjoyable. We have stayed in resorts worldwide and this is right at the top. I am disabled, no problem. Wheelchair, mobility scooters have complete accessability. We have already booked our return for October

Room Tip: Our room overlooked [179] overlooked the pool area and the sea.

My husband & I have recently returned from a 12 night stay at the Athena Beach Hotel having also held our wedding there. On our arrival, my husband & I were immediately given a personal check-in, accompanied by a glass of champagne, and we were then escorted to our room, which had been upgraded to a superior room with a fantastic sea view! The room was excellent with everything you could possibly need, extremely comfortable beds, excellent showers and ample space, (we even had a travel cot in our room for our 20 month old daughter & found we still had plenty of room).

We stayed on a half board basis, and as mentioned in all the other reviews, the food was excellent. There was always plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner, the quality of the food was excellent and the service in the Atrium restaurant was also excellent. As we had received a complimentary upgrade, this meant we could also choose to dine in the a la carte Zephyr restaurant, (however, as we had our little girl with us we mainly used this restaurant for breakfast outside on the terrace as she doesn't quite have her table manners as yet! :-) Though we did eat a couple of evening meals in the Zephyr when we were lucky enough to have a babysitter & the food was fantastic).

Aside from the above, another great quality of the hotel is the staff. I have never stayed anywhere where I have found every single member of staff to be helpful, friendly and most of all obviously very happy in their work, from house keeping staff through to senior management. My husband and I were made to feel extremely special as we were a 'wedding couple' but all the guests in our wedding party also said the same thing! Although everyone we met working at the hotel were great, I'd just like to point out the excellent service we received from Jayne, Kornelia & Ashleigh in respect of our wedding, Odille the superior & suites a manager, Mihali in the Zephyr restaurant, the bar staff in the Nectar Bar, Mr Tekkis (the hotel's driver) and lastly Ionela in the Atrium restaurant who was fantastic with our daughter. The hotel itself is immaculate and the gardens extremely well kept. This is obvious from the moment you arrive at the stunning hotel reception/lobby.

Lastly, our wedding. The hotel has its own wedding coordinator, Jayne Davies, who we cannot thank enough for her help. Despite Jayne being involved with the planning of every wedding held at the hotel, she makes you feel that yours is the only wedding she is working on. We only had a small, low key ceremony but Jayne was so helpful from the very first time I contacted the hotel to just enquire about their weddings. We also received so many complimentary treats from the hotel, such as the stunning room upgrade, candlelight a la carte dinner, wedding cake, (which was delicious), champagne breakfast on the morning following our wedding....the list can go on. Following our beachfront ceremony & cocktail reception, we held our wedding breakfast in the Zephyr restaurant, (as there was only 11 of us), but it felt as though we had our own private function room as the staff were so attentive. The food was absolutely fantastic and was very highly praised by all our guests. Our wedding day was one of the best days of our lives and this was mainly down to the efforts of Jayne and her team - thank you again Jayne!!

I really can not recommend this hotel enough for holidays, weddings, honeymoons etc. As a previous reviewer (and newlyweds - hello Mr & Mrs Simpson!) has said, this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in and I can not wait to go back again!!

This is the second year we have been to Athena beach, It was great last year and is still great this year.
Anything you want is no problem, if there is a problem the staff are great. You will find Yannis, the General Manager around most of the time and his staff from managers to gardeners are always there to help. we have met so many great staff there are too many to name. If you go to the management cocktails you will meet them.
The food is great and plentiful, the room are clean and well presented. The location is right on the beach, its not far to walk to the harbour. The local buses are cheap, clean and regular.
The Constantinou organisation has got running a hotel with customer satisfaction just right.

Room Tip: Last year we had the first floor sea view, this year we had a 3rd floor part sea view. The higher yo...

I have been to hotels all over the world but this is the icing on the cake. The staff could not do enough for my partner and I. I am 82 and my patneris 86 and uses a scooter as he cannot walk very far and they helped us in every way they could. We came back yesterday 2/5/12 and are hoping to go again in October/ November. The food was excellent and A different theme night every night so we had lots of choice. I think this is the first time we have wanted to go back to A particular hotel and cannot wait to go again. We had A lovely sea view room.I could go on and on but enough to say we are going again

Room Tip: book B/B and upgrade when you get there . They will show you the room before booking it

My husband and I recently stayed at the Athena Beach Hotel between 15-29 April 2012. We stayed here for our wedding which was on 20 April and spent our honeymoon there too.

Firstly, the hotel overall is absolutely superb and deserves a 5 star rating! The location and scenery are perfect, only 20-25 mins walk into the main harbour area, the rooms are lovely with comfy beds and are kept clean everyday - but the most remarkable thing about this hotel is the customer service - myself and my husband, and our 40+ wedding guests were blown away by the excellent quality of customer care and service. Every need was taken care of with a smile, and we didn't come across any member of staff who was not more than willing to help with any request big or small.

The staff were extremely polite and from the first moment entering the hotel we were just so gobsmacked by the excellent treatment we received - as a wedding couple we were greeted by the hotel manager when we arrived (shattered at 12am!), who brought us 2 glasses of champagne and the porter took our luggage & guided us to our lovely superior room overlooking the beach & sea.

The hotel facilities are first class with lots of entertainment, restaurants and bars. The food was fantastic and there is so much choice at reasonable prices too. We would highly recommend the Atrium restaurant which offers buffet dining, or the private Zephyr restaurant where we dined a few times which was by candlelight - very quiet and romantic. Odile the superior room manager and the staff in the Zephyr restaurant were brilliant and so helpful and polite.

Now for our wedding ... last but not least! A huge thank you to Jayne Davies, the hotel wedding manager for being an amazing support, before, during and after our wedding. No request was too difficult and Jayne was so organised with everything she really put us at ease (especially me who was stressing out!). Plus she's so personable and friendly! Our wedding day was wonderful thanks to Jayne and the staff & management at the Athena Beach Hotel and a day that we will cherish forever. All of our guests were impressed by the food for our wedding reception which had so much choice even for kids. Our ceremony was lovely in the private Persefoni gazebo overlooking the beach and the med sea - it was serene.

We would highly recommend this hotel for a general holiday, but most importantly, if you want a fantastic wedding and honeymoon then this is the place to have it!

We will most definitely be returning in the near future - and so will many of our wedding guests who truly enjoyed their stay.

Thank you once again to Jayne for making our wedding day so special and to the all the staff for making our holiday & honeymoon so pleasant and enjoyable!

Mr & Mrs Simpson

Room Tip: Ask for a room with sea view as these are lovely and the sound of the sea waves at night is so relax...

Stayed for 10 nights begining 15th April. We returned for a 2nd time to the Athena Beach as we had such a lovely holiday there in October. Despite the weather being a bit cooler than the seasonal norm and at times quite windy, we had another lovely holiday. We chose a seaview room which had excellent views over the pool, gardens and sea. The rooms are well equipped and kept really clean by the very efficient housekeeping staff. We particularly liked having a fridge to store our own drinks and having a regular supply of pool towels so we didnt need to take own with us. We found absolutely every one of the staff members that we came into contact with, including porters, reception staff, waiting staff, bar staff and general maintenance staff, to be very helpful, enthusiastic and polite. Any requests were dealt with promptly and cheerfully - nothing was too much trouble for them! We were on half board and ate in the buffet restaurant which serves good quality food with plenty of choice. Breakfast was brilliant with a huge selection of food to choose from, whatever your preferences. During our stay last october we looked forward to eating all of our meals outside on the terrace which we really enjoyed, however during our recent stay, the weather was a little cooler in the evenings so all meals were taken inside. One small criticism is that, whilst not unpleasant, the buffet restaurant which is quite large, lacks the atmosphere that is needed for evening dining. Perhaps some more ambient lighting might help? The pool area and gardens are beautifully kept and sun beds are plenty. We used the local bus service several times as you can get an all-day ticket for 3euros and travel all over the Paphos area, hopping on and off the buses at whim. We also took the pleasant walk along the sea front path to Paphos (about 30minutes walk to harbour). The pathway is broad and mostly paved and is well used by holiday makers, walker, joggers and cyclists. I took several brisk, early morning walks along the coastal path and enjoyed a good nosey at the other hotels in the area along the way. Having called in to look at several othe hotels in the area, I don't think you can beat the Athena Beach. There may be a couple of more classy and plush places (and obviously more expensive) to stay nearby but I did not feel that any of them had the unique relaxed atmosphere of the Athena Beach. They seem to have got the right balance of informality and professionalism without any of the pretentiousness that you find in some hotels.

Room Tip: Seaview, centrally placed on 3rd floor have good views.

This hotel is really lovely. The staff could not be more helpful and the food is to die for. Even though we went in April the weather was nice, the pool was too cold to go in but that didn't really matter. This hotel is right on the sea front and the walk around to the harbour only takes 30 minutes and its a really nice walk. We hired a car for a few days and we were able to take out a lunch as we were premium package. This is all inclusive and I would recomment that you take this as it is excellent value. All of the drinks were quality drinks. The only down side I could think of was that the air con was not on but it is Cyprus winter until May 1st, however, as soon as we said we were too hot a fan was delivered to our room within a very short time scale. The rooms are pleasant and have everything that you need. overall i was really impressed with this hotel.

Room Tip: try to get a sea view
