“Excellent hotel, excellent service.”
Reviewed June 28, 2010

My husband and I stayed at the Nereus Hotel for a month, May into June. We had a wonderful holiday and can recommend the hotel most highly. The welcome you receive from management and staff makes you feel happy straight away and everyone is really keen to help you in every way. There is a really friendly atmosphere. We were booked in for bed and breakfast and were very happy with the cleanliness of the room, towels changed every day and bedding changed several times a week. The breakfasts are very good with plenty of choices. Although we were not booked in for evening meals, we did eat in several times, and the food was always good. The lounge and bar areas are comfortable and the bar service is excellent. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have booked another holiday in September and look forward to meeting the many friends we made who also intend to return.

good base as its only short stroll from the main strip down to the harbour. Staff friendly, small enough to get to know other guests. Had 1 bed apt. good size but everywhere needs updating as the hotel is quite shabby. Our room was not as good as our friends room as we did'nt have a hair dryer, cooking rings and our balcony light did'nt work but that certainly did'nt spoil our holiday. Please feed the "forgotten cats" round the back of the hotel where the 1 & 2 bedroom apts. are ,they are really thin and hungry and are grateful for any scraps you give them. If you want a no frills hotel then this will appeal.

Like many people we were a bit apprehensive having read the mixture of good and bad reviews. We needn't have worried cos on our arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a lovely smiling receptionist who told us about the services available and directed us to our room which was on the 2nd floor. There was no problem with the room whatsoever. It was much larger than we had expected, spotlessly clean with loads of storage space.
We were on bed and breakfast tarrif and to be honest if we only got bread and jam, for the price we paid, we couldn't have complained!. However the choice at breakfast was incredible-varied and quite delicious, setting us up perfectly for the day as we travelled around the country most days. Yes like a lot of people we have stayed in much more expensive hotels with larger pools and grounds but this place is so very friendly and homely and we were sad to leave at the end of the week. We are in our early 50s and most of the people there were 40 years plus so it was perfect for us but probably not as suited to families with young children. While we were there we met some lovely people who go back to the Nereus regularly-some 2 or 3 times a year! We will definitely return.

Hotel is ideally located just a short walk into the centre of Kata Paphos and the harbour.
The hotel is small in size and is in need of a 'face lift' with the decor looking a little tired
and shabby. Bedrooms are fairly small but I felt adequate for our needs, bathroom very tiny and the glass shelving looked dusty all our stay. Room was cleaned adequately and towels changed daily although not very good quality, no toiletries available but after all it is only a 3 star and that is what you get.
Breakfast proved to be the best meal with a wide range of cooked food available, fruit, bread, yogurt and jams. Dinner had a very limited choice every other day salad was available for starters but not as an alternative to veg for the main meal. Vegetables were limited to only a choice of two - peas and carrots for example with three choices of meat all of which were served to you by staff at the hot counter.
Staff were friendly and helpful and in general the hotel was acceptable.

Just back from this inexpensive friendly hotel ,needed a sneaky week away without the kids and booked this last minute , read a few reviews so arrived with an open mind , pleasently suprised , lovely staff ,nice roomy 1 bed apartment , clean tidy and comfy bed .
Location was spot on ,just out the door turn left and you just seconds from a few taverna`s and a few minutes walk from the lovely harbour of Paphos . We have been to Paphos a few times now and various other parts of the island and have done the 5* Annabelle ad the Luca Lara etc , all very nice and this at only 2-3* is no exeption , would`ent take our 3 boys there though as its not very well set up for the younger generation , although our 20 & 16 yr old would love the fact that there only 3 minutes walk from bar street and all its nightlife , food was good , drinks & bar catered for the silver pound I would say , but very nice and we had a few giggles with the guests .

Would I recommend this to you ? yes , it does exactly what it says on the label , so dont expect 5* luxery on econemy prices , arrive with an open mind and leave with a smile :)

Hope this helps

Cheap & cheerful says it all - good value but clean, very small hotel rooms but for a short stay is ideal. Centred in the middle of all the action, set back from bar street but within access of only 5 min.walk. Would stay again but only for weekend or night out in paphos due to size of room
