We have recently returned from Paphos, we found the resort itself clean but very expensive. Not a lot to do and the transport system is hopeless if you want to get about. Most people hire a car but we don't so were very restricted. The hotel itself is in a good location for the harbour, downhill going but uphill coming back but manageable. The staff were friendly and the food was plentiful and varied. We chose this hotel because they had an offer on for Half board and we were glad we did as everything in Paphos is very expensive, mostly due to the euro but even if the pound had been strong it was still pricy. We paid 5 euro for 2 small cans of pop and same for 1 small bottle of water and a half of lager in the bars. Cheaper bars can be found further back nearer the hotel but not much going on. We were bored, we did all the ruins in the first couple of days. The market it useless not worth the trip. We would not go to cyprus again. Our apartment was very spacious but very very basic and the furniture was old and tired and stained. The balcony is literally 2 1/2 ft wide and was over the bars so proved to be very noisy at night thanks to karioke in all the bars. The pools are great but sunbeds are taken quickly mostly by sunbathers which is a pain because there are 2 sun terraces for those who just want to fry. I often had the pool to myself which was great. The Large glass windows of the games room don't appear to be safety glass as an elderly bloke leaned his chair against one of them and it shattered, we were in the games room at the time and the glass fell in, luckily we were not too close but 2 minutes earlier I had been taking a shot at pool table and could have been sliced. The old chap escaped unharmed. The glass was replaced but again I think it is a serious health and safety risk especially if kids ran around, if a pool ball hit the window it would again shatter. The rails on the balconies are not safe, ours wasnt properly secured and they are horizontol metal bars on top of a small wall which any child could easily climb on or over - parents beware. It isn't really a hotel for kids though and the majority of clients were middle to elderly in age.
