I just got back from the Nereous Hotel and have to say it was a good hotel with very friendly staff, especially Otis, hotel night barman and John across the road at papa Joes pub. Room was OK had air con, chilled or hot water dispenser, they say the mattresses are hard and they are, but that suits me very comfortable I thought. Food is good as mentioned by others and the location is great, 15 minutes slow walk to the old Harbour and Fort, 6 minutes to the sea front. Paphos has changed over the years but I have to say for the better with the excellant beach and decked area, pedestrian access, bars, restaurants etc, a good place to be. I would recomend it to anyone, OK the hotel could do with a bit of a spruce up as is tired in some places but it is definately value for money in my oppinion and I will be going back!

What a pleasant surprise met us at the Nereus, friendly staff, excellent food, lovely clean room, air con water cooler and TV, but the lasting memory is of the staff. We went All Inclusive and lunch was whatever you chose off the bar menu, freshly cooked (not a buffet) cocktails were on the all inclusive as well which was fantastic. The location is central and all amenities are close to hand. One of the best holidays we have ever had, would highly recommend this hotel, cannot fault it. We will be back.

Room Tip: Fitness Centre - they did not have one but im sure if they did it would get 5 starts :)

just got back from my brothers wedding in cyprus. a crowd of us decided to book the nereus hotel rather than stop in my brothers, very expensive , 5 star hotel. we chose the nereus based on price and didnt really know what to expect. it was clear from the very first night that we had made a very good choice. the staff couldnt do enough for you and were always willing to chat and have a laugh and joke ( especially stefan ) we was booked in on a bed and breakfast basis and ,due to too many late nights, only managed to make breakfast a couple of times . didnt think too much of the frankfurter type sausages and the fried ham disguised as bacon but this was probably due to too much beer the night before. beds were a bit hard but reception was only too happy to put a mattress topper on, which solved the problem. overall the hotel was clean and tidy and the food from the snack menu was very good. not a young persons hotel but when i look in the mirror i realise that i am no longer a teenager , so fitted in well.
the hotel is very well situated for the night life , but far enough away for it not to be noisy . the sea is only a 4 or 5 minute walk away and the harbour about 10 mins.
basically its not the ritz but i will definately be going back there

Room Tip: if on the first night you find your matress is too hard then tell reception straight away

I stayed at the Nereus Hotel on a last minute break. Staff were friendly, approachable and spoke English. They were also helpful in providing information and advise regarding the resort. I had booked bed and breakfast but no problem in having a choice of evening meals included for a reasonable price. Breakfast was excellent with plenty choice from a full English to a good variety of cereals, fresh fruit and salad items, cheese, cold meats, bread, cake good yogurt, honey, tea, coffee and fruit juices. My room was clean with comfortable beds and cleaned daily. The seafront was within easy walking distance with a wide selection of shops and places to eat as well as easy access to the island's transport service. There was plenty to do and also easy to relax. After staying here I really felt that I had had a holiday. It'snot a flashy hotel but well worth its reasonable price, and I felt that it was welcoming and well run. I would definitely go back and I recommended it to my friends.

Room Tip: My room was at the back and had a balcony with a fig tree outside, no view but pleasant and cool. Th...

Just got back from our stay at the Nereus, this hotel is fantastic!!
After reading a few negative reviews I was a bit dubious about our stay, but from the 1st second I arrived till the second I left it was a pleasure.
The hotel is situated in a great place, close to bar street(which you can't hear from hotel) close to the harbour.
THE STAFF.. At this hotel are all fantastic!! The reception are really friendly and will help with anything they can.
The waitresses/waiters and barmen where all great especially stephan a great bloke!!!!
All in all this hotel is great in mine and my girlfriends eyes.
yes most of the people staying there are of mature age(shall I say) but we are 26/23 and loved it!!
I will 100% be going back to this hotel!!
DON'T BE PUT OFF BY NEGATIVE PEOPLE'S REVIEWS!!

i have just returned from a 10 day stay and i loved it the people i met there were down to earth pleasant good company and always smiling same with the staff so helpfull and caring.Yes alot of the people who stay there are older but there were younger ones and they all seemed to enjoy it.Food good especially the breakfast ,evening meal fair but there was allways a couple of choices and a lovely salad bar every night,i liked the fact that at night you were allocated your table so i could go and fetch my meal without fear of somebody taking my table which hapens on a regular basis at other hotels and is one of the pit falls of being a single travellerTwo lovely swimming pools with lilos to play on which we did dispite being over sixty we acted more like teenagers as one of the other guests commented.the entertainment was not great but ok and if we did not like it we walked down the road to FRIENDS bar to watch tribute acts there most nights this was a great bar with good food. The walk to the harbour was very steep and down a lot of steps so not suitable for a lot of people, but you could get a taxi but they are not cheap, but its worth it when you get there,i will definately go back to this hotel again

Room Tip: Ask for a mattress topper if your bed is too hard and they will put one on next day..Some rooms have...

Had asked for rooms next to each other(nine months ago) didnt get one, never sat on our balcony or had curtain open because it overlooked the next building.Bath tap was broken,
hairdryer went off every minute had to ask for mattress topper as bed was hard.Whole place needs revamping .Food and pool area very average.

Room Tip: Though hotel is close to bar street never heard any noise.
