I would like to advertise on your website the email that I sent to Elysium Hotel in the winter of 2011 after our stay there for 3 nights.
At the hotel we had stayed for first time during the winter of 2010 and our impressions were excellent so we decided to go back next year.
Since then there have passed about two years but I believe that if anything has changed ever since at this hotel is definitely for the better.
We recommend it to everyone without second thoughts and we will definitely choose it again.

Thank you for the opportunity you are giving us to advertise something that really worth every nice word!

Behold the letter we then send to the hotel manager:

" To whom it may concern

Dear Sir, Madame

They say expensive perfumes come in small bottles. . .

In the case of the hotel "Elysium" it's expensive perfume spreats in a huge area of
an earthly paradise.

Whatever we say will be little to describe the four wonderful days (three nights)
we've spent at your hotel.
An ideal oasis, an attraction to escape from the routine of everyday life.

We had come last year and had a wonderful time.
This year we had a dream.
Next Time ?

We would like to thank all staff of the hotel. Everyone without exception
characterized by gentleness, delicacy and professionalism.
Their friendly approach and the direct servise made us feel "just like home".

We hope for your hotel the best. Be sure that we classify the hotel to the best of
our choices.

To the entire staff wishes for each one separately for personal happiness and
professional success.

Yours sincerely

G and M Prodromou "

This was our second stay at the Elysium, the 1st was Sept last year. As all the other reviews will tell you the staff are excellent and very friendly. The breakfast is very good with a wide choice available. Last year free Internet was only in the public areas, now there is wireless access everywhere so you can connect in your room, by the pool or in the gardens - great. The restaurants and bar in the evening are very very expensive and although nice are simply not worth the money. There are plenty of alternatives nearby. I have been to Paphos many times over the last 25 years and his is the best hotel I have stayed in. Paphos itself seems to get more tacky every time - shame.

Room Tip: Inland view rooms have a rather uninspiring view of KFC and get the sun in the morning.

We stayed at the Elysium in July 2013. The hotel looks very impressive, the staff are lovely and the gym facilities and spa are excellent. However, I do not feel it was worth the money. The hotel is incredibly expensive especially the restaurants. The majority of guests opt for the buffet meal on a night, where we found the meat to be poor quality. Restaurant Bacco is over priced. The dish I ordered came with 2 vegetables which were not on its description on the menu, which I didn't like. The only restaurant I thoroughly enjoyed was O shins, Japanese. It was a lovely peaceful atmosphere and great food. Room service is much cheaper but we only used this once since the pizza was just a cheap frozen pizza for 16 euros! Not impressive! The atmosphere in the hotel is lovely and the hotel deserves its 5 starts however guests deserve more for the money you have to pay to stay at this hotel. The rooms are well air conditioned but there are areas in the hotel including cafe occidental which are not and are therefore quite uncomfortable. Overall, an ok holiday which considering the huge cost of the holiday is incredibly disappointing. I would not return to the Elysium.

We have just returned from another wonderful 10 days at the Elysium. This was our 3rd visit and it just gets better and better every year. The rooms are lovely, the pool and beach areas beautifully maintained and managed, food is fantastic but it's the staff that really make this hotel what it is. They work extremely hard and the restaurant staff constantly go the extra mile. Special mention to luigi, stelian, nicos, yannis, Maria, elena to name but a few who made our stay this year so special. We cannot wait to return.

We are currently staying in the hotel and were impressed from when we arrived. It was a nice touch to Have fresh fruit and water when we arrived and my wife was delighted with the fresh lillies in our room. This was unexpected although i had told them in advance that it was our 25 th anniversary.Special features this this make the hotel worth the 5 stars. The sea view from our 2 rooms is lovely and we overlook the royal gardens.
The air conditioning was broken in 1 of our rooms but this was fixed immediately .The staff are all very attentive and polite. The 6 pack of bottled water for €6 is good value and delivered usually within 5 minutes .The birds are a bit of a pest as they fly onto plates when guests leave them to visit the buffet and we had one of our party guard the table each time to prevent this. The hotel tries to discourage guests from feeding the birds but some guests still do so and perhaps the hotel needs to look at other ways to control the birds as they do spoil a truely magnificent buffet breakfast.
We all enjoyed O,Shins and tried to get into Baccos but we couldn't get in when we wanted so we went to the barbecue instead .All my party enjoyed theirs but I must have chosen badly as my meat was fatty and I didn't enjoy it .I booked Baccos a day in advance for our next meal .
There is no shortage of loungers and staff are on hand to put up parosels and supply cold drinks. My daughter particularly likes the bed loungers by the beach with a nice safe swimming area.
The Royal gardens are quite lovely for a stroll, they are also well maintained.
The indoor pool is very pleasant and the gym is air conditioned and popular with my other daughter .
There is a very nice lounge with a good arrange of ice creams and it also serves ice cold beer which is worth the€6 a pint on a hot day.
We are enjoying our stay at this hotel which deserves its very positive reviews and would stay here again if we come back to Cyprus.

Stayed her last month and the hotel is absolutely lovely. Very nicely designed in every way. The pool area is great and the loungers by the 'beach area' and grass area are a treat. The beach is not great but its nice once you are in the water and there's a jetty to help you get in quickly. The restaurant near the pool is just lovely when having a greek salad and a glass of wine at lunchtime, but do note for 2 people this was €38! Meals in the evening were appx €40 each for buffet, tempting, as the restaurants are beautiful, but too pricey if you are not that hungry Men - dont forget you gotta wear pants to get in -no shorts!
. A walk up the road takes you to some cheaper restaurants where at fat mammas(?) you get rather large portions. But not great quality just OK.
The hotel should offer happy hour as the guests were not spending much time in the lovely bar as it was just too pricey - think the hotel should re think this. Paphos harbour down the road (1€ on the bus), but its very touristy and not particularly different than anything youve ever seen before. We did go out on the quad bikes for 4 hours which was a great trip - really enjoyed that - there was even a 1 year old in the buggy cart who went on the trip!
Nice morning walks along the coastal walk into harbour before breakfast were enjoyed, and in the evening we went sometimes popped to the next door hotel for cheap(er) cocktails (€4-€6)

The airport collection was a bit pricey through easy jet - am sure a shared taxi with people at the airport would have been quicker and cheaper.

As a wedding venue it was lovely but not sure we could afford!
I would love to go again and will recommend, but time to try somewhere else.

Room Tip: if your room is not facing the side or pool then your stay will feel very different. We had one that...
