My husband and I visited this hotel for my special birthday-everything was amazing- the hotel, the staff, the view, the food . I even had a birthday cake left in the room on my return from the day out on my birthday-can't wait to go again !

Just got back from winter holiday stay in Elysium. Met quite a few brits there, they all loved the place!
It is one of the best (if not the best) hotels in Cyprus and it has great facilities, in-door as well as out-door.
The beach, the sea swimming, the sun chairs on a grass (which is actually a great idea!), the multiple number of pools including 2 pools for kids, the spa (which is very nice and relaxing), the in-door swimming pool, the gym (both of them), the buffet style breakfast and dinner with the delicious food for every taste possible (how can any one look after their weight, I have no idea, so once again gym is a good call).
Short walk on the sea front to the Paphos harbor with many cafes and restaurants; and right next to the Tombs of the Kings.
It was great!!!
Would definitely come back there.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are great as you can see for miles and it is a very pleasant view, but if you can get...

just came back from a stay at the Elysium in Paphos
we booked with Thomson a la carte and it was fabulous
We had half board and the food was the best we have
had from a hotel anywhere,The price of drinks though
was very expensive and thats for any form of liquid including
bottled water, but if you don't have wine and water with dinner
walk up the road after meals to a local bar and the prices are
good.

Room Tip: book a room away from the night club, which has live music and finishes at 1 a.m

Have been to a number of hotels in Cyprus, Europe and beyond and this was not only one of the most luxurious, but I have never experienced a higher standard of service, anywhere!

We live in East Cyprus and travelled to Paphos for a couple of nights stay to celebrate my birthday, and what an excellent choice this hotel was!

There was nothing I could say of a negative nature about the Elysium!

My sister and I have just got back from a winter holiday at the Elysium. We had a fantastic time and I'd say it was really worth the extra money! Ok, the surrounding area leaves a little bit to be desired (but in the off-season, all resorts tend to look a little sad!) and we felt like the only people that weren't retired, but the fantastic service, beautiful grounds and good food definately make up for this.

The hotel itself is very pretty. Its quite traditional in its aesthetic with tall ceilings and lots of marble. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of verandas, flowers and a selection of meandering pools. Nearer the sea there is a large lawn with sun loungers overlooking a small man-made beach. Our room looked out onto one courtyard, which to be honest was probably better than a sea-view. We had a small balcony to sit out on, with table and chairs.

Our room was furnished to a high standard with very comfortable beds! The bathroom was pretty small, as most hotel bathrooms are, but this didn't bother us much as we had better things to do than sit in the bath! On arrival we were given complementary drinks, bottled water and fruit. We hoped the water might have been topped up during our stay, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. There was a mini bar, but as you might have guessed, the prices were pretty extortionate! The air conditioning seemed to work well (although we didn't need it in November) and the curtains blacked out all the light (useful when sleeping at odd hours!). What wasn't so great was that the walls seemed to be made of paper between us and the adjoining rooms. This wasn't much of a problem with us as the hotel was pretty deserted, but I imagine in peak season this would be pretty hard-going.

The hotel has 4 restaurants, but only were two were open out of season. On a half-board basis you can't really choose between these two either, because they only offer to credit your account at 15 euros each for the a la carte restaurant, where the cheapest option is 40 euros, so you end up eating in the buffet. This is fine actually, as they change the "theme" every evening to mediterranean/greek/asian etc. The food is pretty good and there is plenty of choice, although the quality of bread in the hotel is fantastic and we'd have quite happily eaten bread, cheese and salad all week. Unfortunately drinks are not included in the evening and they are really pricey, although at breakfast we were suprised to find there is sparkling wine included in the spread!Breakfast is also good with lots of choice and a rather enthusiastic chef.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. They make an effort to remember your face and make you feel welcome, which makes the difference.

The hotel is in a very touristy area, which looked pretty scruffy and miserable out of season. There are a few bars and restaurants around which were deserted even on a friday night. In short, there is not much to do in the immediate vicinity. The local bus service is pretty good and only costs a euro per trip, or you can walk down along the coast, which is quite nice, so all is not lost.

In short, we had a lovely time at this hotel and would recomend this to anyone thinking of travelling to Cyprus.

This was our third family visit (2 adults, 3 small children in a Family Suite) to The Elysium - and once again the hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. There's no doubt it's an expensive place to be, but I really don't begrudge spending the money when everything is perfect.

The staff are extremely friendly, but in a polite and non-imposing way and always made a real fuss of the children. We've been going for the past 3 years, and it's nice to see the same friendly faces each time.

We normally travel in July or August, when the temperature is amazing, but this year we delayed our holiday to October half-term. The only drawbacks to this were shorter days (although sun is still nicely hot, just not scorching!) and the pools were quite chilly. Ordinarily you could literally stay in the pools all day in the summer - but any more than about 10 minutes in October and the cold won!

The choice of restaurants and quality of food is exceptional, and again all the restaurants cater for, and welcome, the children even in the evenings which makes for a relaxing occasion every night.

My husband and I recently stayed in this hotel 2nd NOV 2012, for one week, we had researched all the five star hotels and found this with the most consisitently good reviews. It looked lovely on the photos and so often the reality doesnt match up, however thios hotel was better than th photos even! from the minute we entered we felt relaxed, we arrived at 9pm and were whisked off to the restaurant while our cases were taken for us, the food in the restaurant was superb every night, we had half board and was great value for the quality of the food, there was a different style of food every night and the breakfast was to die for, the staff were friendly but professional, the ambience was relaxing, the roman theme was lovely, our room was a standard inland double and was fine, it was nice and quiet with a view of a market garden, the staff could not have been more helpful from the cleaners to the reception to the porters, the indoor spa was lovely tho I wouild have liked the pool and jacuzzi to be warmer, the outdoor pools were immaculate, and the private beach was idyllic, the loungers were very comfortable there was a nice garden area also, and a pleasant walk along to Paphos harbour along the coast. I would completely reccomend this hotel, its beautiful and convenient for paphos, we had a car but got the bus into town one evening, it was 1 euro and the bus stop is a few muntes walk, and bus was every 15 minutes until midnight! i went on a segway tour whlie i was there which left from the hotel that was great fun and i recommend it, so if you want a nice relaxing superior hotel this is for you.

Room Tip: If you dont want to walk too far ask for a room near the lift as its a long walk to some of the room...
