“Cosmopolitan, relaxing resort”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

The Oracle is a cosmopolitan resort of high quality apartments situated on a hill overlooking Paphos. The apartments are spacious, very clean and well equipped, making cooking and eating-in a genuine pleasure. .

Panaris who runs the bar at the heart of the resort, manages to balance the mix of party and chilled relaxation perfectly. The occasional Poolside Parties are great for spending the day relaxing on a sun-lounger watching the world go by.

The well equipped gym and spa is run by a team who are always happy to help you set up the machines or give advice or motivation (if required)

For those who like to explore and eat out, the Tomb of the Kings Rd with plenty of pubs and restaurants is in easy walking distance. You can also catch a frequent (615) bus to the Kato Paphos Harbour or Coral Beach in the opposite direction. There are also loads of taxi ranks dotted around.

The Oracle is an exclusive resort which I thoroughly recommend for families with toddlers or teenagers, but suspect facilities for children are somewhat limited e.g.the pool. I will definitely be going back!

Room Tip: Go for a pool view apartment if possible. Great to sit outside eating and drinking watching the worl...

I stayed at the Oracle for a week with a group of friends. I have mixed feelings about the Villas so will bullet point each good/bad.

Apartment.
Good - The apartment was a good size and had everything as described. The balcony was a good size also.
The Apartment was clean and had excellent Air con in each of the rooms (2 Bed and living Area).

Bad - The Apartment was self catering, and you would at least expect the basic cooking utensils. The kitchen was sparse, 3 tiny cups and a few glasses. 1 Pan and 1 frying pan. There we no cleaning products or cloths. The microwave, toaster were all available to use , but were not supplied with a adaptor so that you could actually plug them in.
The Apartment was cleaned after the 3rd day as stated. The bed sheets were changed, only to reveal one had a hole in it, and the other a water stain.
The bathroom was of a good size, although the bath was dirty. Again no cleaning solution to hand.

Oracle, please ensure that the apartments have a good selection of basic cooking utensils and basic pans. As we had arrived quite late, we did not intend hunting down kitchen essentials on the first day.

Location.

Good - The location is perfect if you like to walk. Most days we walked to the local lidl, approx 10 mins away.
Paphos harbour is approx 35 min walk either via the coastal path or down the main road, calling into the shopping mall.

Bad - If you prefer not to walk, a car is essential.

Pool.

Good - The pool is lovely. A good size and quite warm.

Bad - The pool we noticed was cleaned. Not sure how often. The only let down is that there appears to be a algae water mark around the main pool area and the plunge pool. This is of putting to say the least.

The pool was fairly quite at times, although at some times it appears that either the gym members and the locals take over. As its in a residential area it did seem very busy.
There are no pool attendants, so you can imagine, at times it was not the most relaxing day.
There is a bar close to the pool serving drinks. The staff here treated this mainly as a communal meeting point for there friends. It was noted, that everyday they would meet, play cards and not leave till the early hours. Again, this gave you a in impression that the location was more of a local bar, than being a resort.
The music at the bar was very loud, repeated every day and to be honest, not the best choice.

Overall.

Oracle exclusive resort i think, is suited for mainly couples and for a few nights only. There were families, but you could see at times as the pool became overcrowded, rowdy , the pool area was soon vacated.

The staff are friendly at Reception.

WIFI is available for a small charge.

Room Tip: Take items such as bottle opener, tin opener.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a week in June and were very impressed by the place.

Although it's not in the best location, the old town is about 10 minutes walk down the road and you can catch buses from there to the harbour and Coral bay for €1.50 each.

The apartment itself was a good size and very clean. The showers weren't the best but did the job. All the rooms had good air con which was essential in the Cyprus heat!

Good sized pool and nice little bar, which had a big screen outside showing all the World Cup games which was nice! Pool table was good too.

Value for money wise the oracle was everything we needed and would be ideal if you had a car to get around.

The complex had a great gym which you can use for free and had lots of good equipment in.

I would definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed here between the 18th and 25th May 2014, the apartment is good size plenty of storage in bedrooms for clothes, amenities where excellent hair dry, micro wave, washer, TV and DVD player with a good selection of DVD's. Aldi is 10 minutes walk for provisions as is the Kings road with plenty of bars, restaurants and kiosk shops.
The pool and surrounding area is clean and tidy, we thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay here would definitely come here again.

The size of the rooms were only the good thing about the placeand its location, nothing else. The service was very poor. The staff obviously very inexperienced and unhelpful.I wonder if the owners of this place really care about the place.Shame because it has potential.Parking is too narrow.Luckily we were only there one night..more than enough.

Room Tip: Choose another place!!

We arrived, went to check-in at 14.00 hrs and were informed the previous guests were still in the room. Therefore we had to hang around until 19.00 hrs until another room was free. The entrance to the other section, was all the way around the back of the building which, not very assuring at night!!! The parking is awful. Don't take a big car. You will have problems parking between the columns.
No thick curtains or black out blinds meant the sun was shining in the bedroom from 06.00 a.m. along with that, a choirs from 10-15 dogs, I assume there is a dog kennel behind the hotel!!!
Breakfast was poor. No other food was available at the hotel.
The room it's was ok, but no soap in the bathroom.

Room Tip: Request rooms on the left side, further away from the dogs. And take toiletries with you.

On initial inspection the two bed two bathroom apartment looked nice however we had not got our bags through the door when the door handle fell off!!! I went to reception to report it and was given a screwdriver by a most unhelpfull eastern european woman manning the reception. I was unable to fix the door handle myself as i'm no joiner so had to go to reception the next day to ask for a different apartment. In the second apartment there was no kitchen utensils the shower was cold every single day didn't matter what time you used it and there was no kitchen bin. I did ask at reception as to what we were expected to do with the rubbish and the most unhelpfull women asvised I should go to the shop a couple of hundred yards away and purchase some rubbish sacks!!!!! Don't waste your money here there are much nicer places near by this complex are only interested in selling apartment and not holiday makers it certainly isn't geared up as a resort and don't think it ever will. Also there is a small holding next to the complex which hosts lots of dogs and a very annoying cockrel that won't let you sleep later than sun rise they don't let you this in the brochure!!! We only recieved clean towels twice in a week and maid service once.
