“Yummy Yummy”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

This has been one of our favourite restaurants for the last 2/3 years & we were very disappointed that the owner /chef Keith told us that he was returning to Scotland. But we were very happy on Monday, yesterday when we decided to give the new owner Derrick/chef a try. The food & service were excellent & we shall look forward to visiting the Blue Olive for many more yummy meals. The food is all home cooked & the house wine is one of our favourites, Kolios, prices are excellent, the only downside might be your waistline.

“New owners - and still great!”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

We tried this lovely place again today, knowing that the previous owner had left and new ones taken over - and pleased that we did.
Still one of our favourite places to go - and not too much had actually changed.
The food was varied and what we had was lovely. Home made Steak & Ale pie, using ale from the
local Aphrodite Brewery. Beautiful shortcrust pastry, tender huge chunks of tasty steak and gravy, accompanied by home made chunky chips. Not much left on the plate.
There was also on offer a range of salads, such as Stilton with strawberries, rocket and balsamic glaze, as well as the basics such as coleslaw and potato salad made with mint and yoghurt dressings. All so fresh and gorgeous looking! To accompany the salads are home made quiche and fritatas, salmon, chicken breast & tiger prawns.
The sandwiches are also varied, and offered on ciabbata bread with various fillings.
The house wine is Kolios (one of my favourites) at €3 for a large glass, and of course there are other beers and soft drinks available too.
The new owners are Derrick (ex army chef) and his wife Rebecca, helped by their daughter Charlotte. We only met them for the first time today, but received a warm welcome and I feel that they will do really well here.
for those of you who don't know where to find this little treasure trove - it is in Coral Bay. Go down the strip (away from Peyia) and turn left at Blazing Saddles. Turn left, left and left again and it is hidden away with a tiny signpost that you could easily miss.

Good luck guys!

“Not just a great Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

We've lived in Coral Bay for many years and know which restaurants to patronise and which to avoid. Without doubt the Blue Olive is one of the best kept culinary secrets in the area and is our regular choice for Sunday lunch. For Euro 15.50 you can enjoy 2 beautifully cooked and presented main courses, or Euro 17.50 for three, plus half litre of wine and coffee to finish. Portions are more than adequate and the service is friendly and efficient.
Other weekday meals are excellent too.
We recommend this superb little restaurant to all tourists - and to residents like us, but we already know the secret of the Blue Olive.

“Excellent Food”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Excellent Freshly Cooked Food, Casual but Correct Service, Priced Fairly and a place to eat a three course meal or a 'lite bite' for lunch. Very British cuisine and Ambience, including freshly made tasty puddings . Beer Selection from Local Brewery ( British run ). Unfortnately, only one Cyprus wine available, which is regrettable in my opinion. Very Pleasant for evening dinner, but no view for daytime visits. Even the sandwiches for take-away picnics are seriously English and seriously delicious.
